Did you know this about Princess Mononoke? #princessmononoke #princessmononokeanime #princessmonokoke #studioghibli #studioghiblifilms #moviedetails #eastereggs #easteregg
Lady Eboshi was the only one who treated the lepers with respect and kindness, so they helped her conquer the forest and fight off samurai clans with advanced gunpowder weapons.
There's a little detail that I theorize alot about. When Ashitaka first meets Jiko-bo (clip clop man), they are in a cave who Jiko said "was once a great village," he also says that "it was destroyed by a flood or mudslide". This intrigued me, because the form we see the deer god take after he gets his head shot off reminds me awfully like a mix between a flood and a mudslide. We also know that greenery grew over everything, the architecture aswell. Knowing the theme of the movie, I like to think that this is Miyazaki's way of showing how history always repeats itself. Humanity will always strive after their own selfishness, and that selfishness will always be their downfall.
And considering the number of survivors, both from Iron Town and the Amishi clan, that the world has some measure of forgiveness for those seeking to learn from their mistakes
One of the dopest anime movies ever. It’s timeless ! And the animation is light years ahead of its time. There’s some anime today that don’t even come close to it. The story will take you to another planet and back.
It's not that easy. Yes, very cool detail, some were healed. But...... if you think, in the chaos produced by the sighting of the headless Nightwalker most of them probabilly didn't escape that death blood. There's a scene which shows elements of that house shattered by the strong blast.
I think that by that point, they had come to terms with the fact that not all of them would live to see whatever miracle their Lady Iboshi would deliver to save them. I believe that they would be content if just one of them could stand at the end of it all healthy and whole. Which is what happened 😢
I have the movie on DVD and on my dozen or so rewatch I noticed that. Also, Eboshi theorizes that the forest god's blood could cure the lepers. The forest god knows that Eboshi beheaded him but still heals her lepers before departing.
Maaaaaaaaaaade in 1997
Yeeeeeeeep…. I did notice they were healed by the Forest Spirit. 😉
Why tf did he say it like that

Now that you say it, it does make sense. I think you may be onto something.
Commenting here because this may be true

I probably watched this Anime over 500 times. But I never noticed this. OMG. That is so cool!
Eboshi did entertain the idea that the Forest Spirit might be able to cure her lepers.
I remember when I first noticed it, just the look on her face seeing herself cured. It's why it's easily my favourite movie.
Well…. The ones that didn’t die. Touching those that lived were healed. But man iron town had more than half its population cut down
We got it Ryan Reynolds
OMG ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you!!!
Hope you like it!
appreciate your facecam not taking up half of the screen
I saw this in 1998 when i was 13. Im turning 37 in a couple of months and still this is one of my favorite movies

Damn hayao miyazaki! He is so perfectionist
Princess Mononoke (and Kiki’s Delivery Service) were the first anime I ever watched (thank you Blockbuster) and I never noticed, and now I’m crying.
I honestly just thought it was an anime artistic choice like most anime’s where they put bandage wrap on some of the characters
Oh shit I can't beleive I didn't notice that!
The forest spirit also killed half the town
The ones that crossed the bridge
"Not that way stop"
You see with eyes unclouded by hate.
Yes I loved that!! They had a new lease on life!
that’s so sweet 😭😭
Wow.. I've seen the movie twice but never noticed it! It makes me think why the director showed this important thing for such a brief period.
The blood of the forest spirit can cure any disease !!
