He didn't even discovered sea route to India. History is a testament that he was a big coward. He voyaged along the coasts of africa and Arab to reach India. Before he reached India, India had been doing tremendous seat trade as well that too with the big ships. And vasco had a small ship compared to we used to have.

I don't know which school system you studied. In our school books, it was written as Vaco da Gama found a sea route to india. We even studied that Columbus traveled toward west as he thought that would be shorter and landed in an island near and called them as west indies. People there were red instead of dark and so he called red indians.
Both are right dude Vasco da Gama and columbus both was on their way to find the sea root to India while the Gama found it and declared that he discovered India but on the way columbus found an island with reddish dark skined people so he misunderstood West Indies island as an India and after he went back and some of his people came back to confirm with him and found out that it wasn't india and next they saw another island and named it America.

It is Surat diamond merchant who met Vasco at Cape of Good Hope and there is record of Surat ship building written in Indian express news during Vasco time, they wrote ship was held together with long bolts to prevent scattered by violent storms and they showed the route to Kerala for first time trip

However, one of my strongest suggestions is that when addressing history, it would be excellent if the explanations included links to the primary sources (Not wiki tho). Regrading Vasco da Gama, I never academically erudite that Gama discovered India, we (Keralites) learned that he was Portuguese trader and landed in Kozhikode for spices and fought with locals (Zamorin, Kunjali Marikar etc..). So I'd highly propose that you utilize primary and legitimate sources to help backing and convincing your points. All the very best!
I am 1980 kid. Our social studies book had told us that Gama discovered India. Until today it was in my mind that Vas Co Da Gama diacovered India and Columbus found America thinking it was India.

She is telling the stories and not history, distorted. Gama landed in India after several failures and was navigated by Arabs and not by Indians. There has been a resurgence of "Hindutva" distorted propagation of the history of India. Textile ( Gujrat and Bengal, present day Bangladesh ) was the main import from India and spices from Indonesia. Europeans even bartered Indian textile with Indonesian spices.

I don't know which school system you studied. In our school books, it was written as Vaco da Gama found a sea route to india. We even studied that Columbus traveled toward west as he thought that would be shorter and landed in an island near and called them as west indies. People there were red instead of dark and so he called red indians.
Both are right dude Vasco da Gama and columbus both was on their way to find the sea root to India while the Gama found it and declared that he discovered India but on the way columbus found an island with reddish dark skined people so he misunderstood West Indies island as an India and after he went back and some of his people came back to confirm with him and found out that it wasn't india and next they saw another island and named it America.
Nobody said he discovered India, but he discovered the route to India from Europe.

It is Surat diamond merchant who met Vasco at Cape of Good Hope and there is record of Surat ship building written in Indian express news during Vasco time, they wrote ship was held together with long bolts to prevent scattered by violent storms and they showed the route to Kerala for first time trip

First of all, thank you for your channel. I appreciate the effort you put into crafting diagrams. However, one of my strongest suggestions is that when addressing history, it would be excellent if the explanations included links to the primary sources (Not wiki tho).
Regrading Vasco da Gama, I never academically erudite that Gama discovered India, we (Keralites) learned that he was Portuguese trader and landed in Kozhikode for spices and fought with locals (Zamorin, Kunjali Marikar etc..). So I'd highly propose that you utilize primary and legitimate sources to help backing and convincing your points. All the very best!
I am 1980 kid. Our social studies book had told us that Gama discovered India. Until today it was in my mind that Vas Co Da Gama diacovered India and Columbus found America thinking it was India.

She is telling the stories and not history, distorted. Gama landed in India after several failures and was navigated by Arabs and not by Indians. There has been a resurgence of "Hindutva" distorted propagation of the history of India. Textile ( Gujrat and Bengal, present day Bangladesh ) was the main import from India and spices from Indonesia. Europeans even bartered Indian textile with Indonesian spices.

What if he discovered India? For the European countries...he did find the new trade route to India and he did discover India for them.

...from Northwest Europe. 😊 The Romans traded and visited Kerala long before Vasco ever came here. Their coins can still be found in Kerala's museums. And of course, the Arabs also came to Kerala for spices by sea. Northwest Europe was in its Dark Ages in the Mediaeval times (so, they fittingly didn't know how to get to india even if others could). But India was called the Jewel of the Mediaeval.
