Hi! I'm about to fix the same couple of chairs for the first time. Can you please tell where did you get the new fixating wire that goes into the groove with glue? (the one that didn't sit in there before you used fixating tools)? Any suggestions of how to find that wire?
That’s exciting! I actually got mine from someone second hand, but I think you can buy it on Amazon. I don’t know the English word, unfortunately, but when I google “peddigrotting”, I get a lot of options. You could try that and see if there are any vendors that ship to your destination or maybe the algorithm will give you some local options 😄 good luck 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Thank you! Ooo, exciting. Not sure exactly what size you should use as it'd depend on the size of the groove. If possible, I'd try to remove some of the existing spline and measure it. I think I used 5 mm 🤔
Hey , so happy to find your video , I will repair mine , but I m desapointed, the chrome on the feet is gone . Do you think it’s possible to apply a chrome bomb paint? I tried everything… thank you so much
Thank you sm! Hmm is it rusty?? I must admit i don't have much experience restoring rusty chrome, but I googled now and there's quite a few articles recommending solutions. I think you'll be more happy with the result if you try to remove the rust, rather than painting over it. I would take a picture and go to your local hardware store and ask for advise. Good luck!
Yes, I think so! But make sure the seat is intact, if the rattan is a bit loose, they’re not all that comfortable unfortunately. If you can get your hands on the ones with arm rests, they’re super comfy - I only have one of those, but I love them all the same 🥰
Heyy, I’m sorry but I don’t have much experience with that unfortunately. Sounds like they might need to be welded, but I’d recommend taking a picture to your local hardware store and ask if they have any advice. They often know what tools you’ll need and can probably give you a better answer than I can 😅
I bought the materials second hand so I’m not too sure, unfortunately :(( but it looked similar in size as the groove, so you could probably use that for reference. Good luck!
Im not too sure tbh, but might be one of the following; rattan core round cane, sometimes called “wicker” or cane/wood splain 🤔 assuming you mean the wood thing that keeps the cane webbing down?
Cool video! I’m picking some up today and loved learning the history of the chair you provided.
Exciting! I hope you’re happy with them 😍

Awesome job! The uneven cane adds character 😍
Was wondering where your shelving unit is from. The one that’s behind your dining table. Thanks!
Thank you, angel! It’s String Furniture, shelves are oak 😊🫶🏼 love them, can def recommend
Thanks for this - now I know I don't want to repair my four chairs. Way too much work :D I still love 'em though, so I might order new parts.
Hahaha yes, it’s a bit tedious, buying new parts is definitely easier! Glad you enjoyed the video tho 😄

I want to buy these chairs, are they conffortable?

how can I fix the base, the legs ? They have been disassebled to each other and I struggle to sit on the chair.

@@JOETB Thank you.
Perfect!!!❤
Thank you 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
What is the actual name of the "little wooden thing" you try to fix ?

You can easily buy both the seat and back parts on line and just screw them in a viola new chair
That’s a fair point! But this way I got to keep the original parts and learn a new skill, haha💪🏼
That was the completely wrong adhesive. You should have used wood glue.
Tell me about it 🥲 believe it or not, it was wood glue, but clearly wrong type haha
Are people still buying these chairs
Yes 😊
Yeah they’re incredibly trendy right now (at least in Scandinavia)
Yep. 🌛🌜
