You missed glowworm caves
If I would like to visit these 10 places per your recommendation, how many days do I need to visit them? Do you have any suggestions for a local tour I can use to visit all the recommended places? Thank you
Hi and thanks for your comment! 🙂 We would recommend at least 3 weeks to visit all 10 places. There are several tour operators that offer different experiences, however they may only cover a few places for each part of the South Island (north-centre-south). These are Grand Pacific Tours, Kirra Tours, AAT Kings, Haka Tours and New Zealand trails.
A popular option is to road trip the island with a van. New Zealand has many camping sites available. If you like to spend less time, maybe around 10 days, another option is to cover either Queenstown/Milford Sound/Lake Tekapo or Nelson/Marlborough Sound/Lake Tekapo.
We personally think that Queenstown and Milford Sound are quite worth the visit.
One thing we absolutely recommend are the stargazing tours at Lake Tekapo in the Aoraki Mackenzie Reserve.
