Still have this setup? I remember loving your build years ago when you were one of the first completed and successful swaps on YT. I recently did my 3rd B15 VQ and went with an all motor setup- JE pistons spec'd for 12:1 with stock VQ35DE heads, with my build it clocks in at 12.4:1. The slugs are on Eagle forged rods using a stock 03 Maxima crank and block with stock sleeves, King Race bearings, ARP hardware throughout, 03 Maxima heads ported and lightly milled, Ferrea springs, JWT Race cams (GA spec) port matched SSIM (better overall power curve than Kinetix manifold) custom SS longtube headers with 2.5" collectors going to a custom 3.5" exhaust out to a Vibrant muffler. Very loud and VERY expensive exhaust setup all together but it was worth almost 18whp over any off the shelf options. Intake tube is also custom, 4" with a V stack, Quantum 340lph fuel pump with ID1000 Injectors. Tuned on E85 with Haltech- MAF delete, VVT active it made 347whp SAE corrected. It's mated to a 2002 Spec V 6 speed with a Maxima bellhousing (4.4 final drive feels AWESOME) and SPEC Stg3 clutch. Chassis is an 02 black Spec V, 2763lbs race weight. That includes the fuel cell with ~8 gallons, Optima battery in the trunk and fully safety certified to 10.0. Currently it's setup to run 11.50 Indez
Love the fact he representing VQS all day, but just for competition from what I see HRs are pretty hard for him and I'm confident he can't fuck with your VQs TWIS lol
+jalen summers Not really. That sentra is untuned and must have shitty supporting mods. Stock motor with basic boltons and no tune should run high 12s without trying. It lost to an HR Z while weighing much less (700 lbs) and having more aggressive gearing. A properly modded VQ as per their description should make 300 WHP (which is more than that HR Z) and have a fat ass power band. A bolt on maxima runs high 12s with traction...do the math here... That sentra is running like dog shit. They blew all their money on the heads (I didn't see porting or anything listed lol) and didn't do shit for the rest. Sad. As far as converting 1/4 to roll races...the VQ should always trap higher even if their times are the same, therefore, VQ wins roll races. That tin box civic (assuming base model) probably weighs 700 lbs less than the sentra. Sorry, revving to 9k won't save you from a VQ done correctly. It would be interesting with a k20/24 hybrid, though, as they don't have limp dick tq and make good power.
No denying K series power; my old all motor 13:1 89x99mm K24/K20 made nearly the same power NA as my built VQ NA and the K series did it with 2 less cylinders and 1.0L less displacement.
I know this is an old comment, but have you seen how fast Nissans own old SR20"VE" engines are? Not the "DE" or "DET" Turbo ones. The High Comp NA with NeoVVL (Nissans version of VTEC). Those engines respond very well. And like the K series you can make a hybrid version if you want a NA 2.4 liter 4 cylinder making 250 hp you can do so relatively easy. Not necessarily cheaply but easy yes. So the Kseries being much newer really can't brag all that much considering the SR engine had been around about as long as the B series Honda engine.
I hate the cannon but I am pretty impressed for a sentra. An I am more impressed that the engine came from a maxima B) 2 time 5th Gen Max owner. Good job

In MY opinion....He did just fine.... I only ever hear him bounce off the rev limiter once, maybe twice at most in any given shift. Granted a little better timed shifting would shave some tenths off his ETs, He still killed it in that little sentra. won most of the races, and all in all...Nice ass car man, Gotta love Nissan.
what kind of swap did you do i just purchased a 2002 ser spec v its got a header and exhaust and surprised the crap out of me because im used to working on my trans am....just trying to get some ideas for my project sentra..
The exhaust on that Z is really ugly in my opinion, but this Sentra is a beast. And the V6 sound is magical. Are you guys having the synchro problem like most B15's?

And the transmission--I understand you have to swap in the Maxima 6 spd. input (or output?) shaft in order to use your stock CV shafts? Any info would help-thanx

Miguel Arellano about to pull the engine and do it in a couple weeks. Hasn't gotten any worse or given me any issues except the rattling on startup for 2-3 seconds. Wish there was room to do it without pulling the engine but there is no freaking room with that v6 crammed in the engine bay of a sentra. I'm guessing you've done one on a vq?
How did that 350z in the 1st race beat you?? Nice vids btw & I want to do a VQ swap but I really want to keep my SE-R auto lol. Hopefully one day someone will find the formula to make that work.
When you take off and shift to the next gear it seems that you shift a tad bit early, but then every gear after that is fine. If you pay attention to the bogging of the engine you'll know what i'm talking about. Granted it didn't happen in every run; however it is evident. Take the time to get it right every time, consistency is key.
im pretty sure thats his tires spinning, not his engine bogging down. what he needs is some good sticky rubber. albeit hitting the limiter a few times, he seems to shift well.

i must say, love to play around with my hondas, and i was expecting to see it devastate the b20 the first race.. second race did justice. even with 100shot a b20 really isnt that mean. a b20 vtec eg barely pulled on my brothers vq30 maxi. so i know their not that quick. the maxi just has greddy exhaust, tbs, and an aftermarket rail + tune

Do you have an NWP blockoff plate? If not get one. You'll see better gains up top, especially with that Technosquare reflash.

I just bought my vq sentra today. You ever had an issue with the timing tensioner? Mine only gets noisy for a second on cold start.
Fix it asap it's easy if you got tools and cherry picker if you got one. It's common they go out after 100k the tensioner and guides
