Great video, Amber! Very informative. Here's another thing about fire extinguishers - store them in a place that you can easily get to them. In my TX house, we had one that was right near the stove. Then unfortunately we had a stove fire, but we couldn't get to the fire extinguisher because of the flames! If I had an rv, I would have it/them right next to the entry door.

@@storychasing Melted the microwave above the stove and burned some cabinets. But it gave us an opportunity to remodel some things, paid for by insurance, so it worked out. It was sure a mess tho.
Making sure all cabinet doors are closed is definitely a good one. We have a Class A. One time I got distracted and almost left with a slide out. If you have satellite TV you need to make sure your dish is down before traveling. As you said with the RV GPS, height really matters in any type of a RV.
I just drove past Garmin in Olathe, Kansas! It looked cool, but not open to the public currently. The "in and out method..." lol (Beavis laugh) I learned that in highschool..... Nobody really wants to boondock alone, but you gotta be ok with it to truly enjoy boondocking at all. But I got no issue with staying at Walmart after enjoying a beautiful spot all day that doesn't allow overnight parking. For me, Walmart is just a place to sleep. One word: EARPLUGS. Will change your life on the road.

Great advice! Going to check out that RV Garmin! Your right about know what type of rig is best for you. I originally was set on a small class C (aka B+) totally dismissed the vans because I thought a wet bath was terrible but as I learned more and thought about what my travel goals are I realized that the van would be closer to driving a large SUV and can be parked in places a C or larger can't and I'm not traveling to hang out in the bathroom and a wet bath would serve it's purpose just fine lol!
Yes!! Always check for a Mobile RV repair guy, before going to a dealer. Remember, though, they focus on RV components, not on chassis concerns. Finding a mechanic with facilities to work on an RV (the lift, the shop head space) can be a challenge, depending on the issue you’re facing, this is something to watch out for.

I know Chrome from VanCity Vanlife used an off brand and he didn't like it. They were destroyed on the first use. You might just look at reviews of others. I wrestle with the idea of releasing 'stuff. When you said that you don't have a storage space you woke me up. Divesting myself of 'all of it' may be the most intimidating thing.
I so agree on the flexibility! I always seem to spend more time in places than I intended when planning. I try to just have a rough idea of the places I want to go, but always have a plan B, and a plan C! I always want to be open to spontaneous things along the way, but if I can’t stop at that time then I change my return route so I can hit that spot on the way back! Your suggestions are very useful! I like camper truck but i don’t like that it is hard to have direct access like a pass thru door. The thought of going out to get to the driver seat doesn’t make me feel safe.
I appreciate your videos / you are very professional about your business / I just wanted to add one thing and it's something another youtuber said / his dog had died but he was so happy that his dogs last year was his best/ no longer stuck inside waiting to be let out later / his best Buddy enjoyed daily Rides & Amazing outdoor Runs & meeting many new Friends to equal a Happy Life for them Both

@@storychasing ... How about an experience that shows anything can happen when you least expect it. It was late afternoon and we were headed up a mountain to where we were going to camp. Without warning we found ourselves in a almost total white-out situation. My buddy was driving and immediately dropped to a snails pace. I kept an eye on the edge of the road best I could. Amazingly, we spotted a side road going down on the side of the mountain. My buddy decided to take it even if we had to back up later. We crept along and found a spot that looked wide enough for someone to pass. So we boondocked right there. None too soon since visibility immediately changed to a complete white-out. Next morning we stepped out of the 32 foot trailer ... and our hearts did a double beat. Less than 30 feet in front of the truck the road wasn’t there. At some time it had sheared off the mountain. If we hadn’t stopped, I doubt you’d be reading this now. Lesson: On the road, anything can happen. Don’t panic.
We’ve spent countless hours researching what Rv to buy. Hershey show, Tampa show, TH-cam and Rv trader. Just got back from a factory tour of Phoenix USA in Indiana. I have my opinion and she has hers 🤦🏼. Basically we’re eliminating options more then choosing one 😂
Very good points ...all of them. Some things seem so simple but they will bite you in the butt if you don't attend to them. Still like your top. Stay Beautiful.
Remember when you buy a truck camper you need a truck. The cost of a truck and the camper is not necessarily less than other motorized campers. Also, for a solo female I would caution that you are unable to quickly get into the truck without going outside of the camper to get to the truck. Just a few thoughts. I have been following you for over a year.....your thought processes and decision making are spot on....and reactions to things that don’t quite work out....you have a good attitude about it and you move forward...learning from the experience. If you want to have an amusing movie to watch...I just watched the 1954 movie titled “The Long, Long Trailer” starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz....they are newlyweds and the Lucy character convinced her travelling musician husband to buy a travel trailer so they could live in it full time instead of living out of suitcases and hotels.....it is really cute ...getting stuck on a logging road was funny....check it out.

Everybody needs a checklist for set up and break down. Each item must e checked off as you complete it. **NO TALKING TO ANYONE DURING YOUR CHECKLIST** If someone wants to talk to you during your checklist..kindly tell them you will be glad to talk "after" you complete your check list. If someone does interrupt you as you are doing your checklist..START FROM THE BEGINNING.
Do you suggest a dash mount for the RV Garmin? I cannot find it on Garmin? Thank you. I have the Revel 2021. I am happy starting out and learning with a smaller rig for now.
Cheryl Parrish 😊 I did a dash mount. I bought the magnetic dash mounts, same as I use for my cell phone, and use that for the Garmin too. If you look in my Amazon store you'll see the magnetic dash mounts.
Question please...why did u trade your class c to a van? I heard you mention now u want something bigger. Do you reqret getting rid of the class c or are they compared in space? Thank you in advance❤
Cheryl Parrish 😊 It also comes in 7 inch if you toggle to that on that link. Mine is a 5 inch but they discontinued it for the RV model so I picked the same RV model, but it just has a bigger screen now. The 7 inch would be perfect for an RV that's smaller like the vans, but 10 inch for Class C or Class A possibly.

Out of curiosity, how long are the max tracks? The design looks like what we called a back board when I was a Firefighter/EMT

Cheryl Parrish 😊 It also comes in 7 inch if you toggle to that on that link. Mine is a 5 inch but they discontinued it for the RV model so I picked the same RV model, but it just has a bigger screen now. The 7 inch would be perfect for an RV that's smaller like the vans, but 10 inch for Class C or Class A possibly.

I know a Mobil RV guy. - not good. Ya look reviews carefully. Then my daughter got one from tampa to ch out her air. They were good.
