I saw it the other day. IT WAS FANTASTIC! One of the most delightful experiences! The battles were amazing, the visuals were gorgeous, the characters and story were very memorable, and it was honestly just such a masterpiece. Seriously, one of the most amazing TV series I have ever seen. It’s just a shame this movie had to insult it in every way possible.

What's the point of a remake in the first place?? The show was animated for a reason, there's no point in recreating something so beloved and perfect when you will never recreate the magic the show made people feel. They're remaking it again, but I believe they'll be exploring something different, which is fine, but still there's no point in remaking ATLA.

What I have watched before,it was nice!
Unlike the original animated series, this movie just didn't have any soul in it. Even Sokka is a killjoy (which by the way he was kinda like one, but not in an awkward way like in the movie). I wish someone would remake the movie like 3 years from now and supersede expectations just like what happened in with the planet of the apes and the dark knight where everyone thought it'll not do well, but in the end nailed it so much the nail went through the wood.

I just finished watching Avatar: The Last Air Bender for the first time, despite it being created in my generation (24 years-old right now). I must say, when I saw this movie WITHOUT knowing the series it was sucky enough. But now that I'm back...I can't even believe that then fans of the series even gave this movie the time of day. I actually liked the boy who played Aang.... Even though this movie was an epic fail, I don't think it was a reflection of him as an actor.
Syren Will Smith was horrible in After Earth. Does that make him a bad actor? Nope, it just proves that Shymalan sucks all acting talent away in his movies.

+Jonas Schnitzler I actually got an audition in New Orleans for the movie; the sides they sent me were for all three male leads (Aang, Sokka, and Zuko). I was 13 at the time and severely overweight, so I knew I had no chance to get the part, but I enjoyed the experience so much because at least I got to audition. I mean, A:TLA was my favorite TV show at the time (and the movie shared the same name back then), so auditioning for the role of Aang really was a memory I won't soon forget. Oh, and just a side note, they actually were using the REAL pronunciations of the character names during the auditions, and the script sides I got were either vastly different from or not even in the movie. What I had to read was better than what I saw on screen.

ALL of the main characters don’t look like the original ones AT ALL, “Zuko” looks Indian and has a cheap scar from scratching his eye too much, whoever thought casting the guy who plays Iroh is as blind as Toph. the guy who plays Sokka didn’t even bother to put his hair in a “warrior tail”. And the girl who plays Katara didn’t have the same skin color.
The guy who played Zuko IS Indian, named Dev Patel. Good actor, but quite possibly the WORST choice to play Zuko

I remember when the teaser trailer for this came out. Everyone was getting steadily more pumped and excited, and then, at the end, the title came up. Scattered applause started. And then, 'Directed by M. Night Shamalyan' popped up. The excitement vanished instantly.

Peter Jackson crammed the entire LOTR trilogy (easily 40 hours of reading) into about 9 hours of screen time and it was absolutely incredible. All Shyammalan had to do was reduce about 7 hours (most of which are minor adventures and side-stories) of pre-written scenes down to an hour and a half of the important stuff and he still managed to fuck it up. If it was so hard to reduce out those scenes then he simply shouldn't have made the film because it was obviously going to be crap.
Ehh… Lord Of The Rings is pretty bad too. This film was still way worse. I lasted about 45 minutes before I decided to stop watching.

When I first saw the trailer for the movie, it made me tearbend. Everything about the movie wad EPIC except the movie itself.

I'm honestly REALLY sad they didn't keep going with the animated series. That was probably one of the things I will always remember about my childhood, and it means a lot to me. They could have at least made an animated series of Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko where they are adults. THAT would have been better than THIS. I've read so many of other people's comments, and it seems like almost EVERYONE hates this movie. I was really sad when the TV series was over, because now here comes The Legend of Korra (Which ALSO isn't as great as Avatar: The Last Airbender) and I really miss Aang's goofiness, Sokka's humor, Katara's niceness, Toph's coolness, and Zuko is the new firelord, AND YOU END IT!?!? As Toph says when they discover Long Feng stole messages to them, 'That's just sad.' It REALLY is. I'm literally crying because now, Aang is DEAD, Sokka is DEAD, Katara doesn't have any more SPIRIT, Toph is OLD, and I don't even KNOW where Zuko is. And want to know what REALLY broke my heart? When Korra got disconnected from all the previous Avatars, including Aang. I'm heartbroken because Avatar: The Last Airbender was my FAVORITE childhood memory, and now it's ruined. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm trying to say the truth.
The Legend of Korra is actually a very solid series but yes, Avatar The Last Airbender is still better

Ummm not at all. As a fan of both adaptations who liked it a lot, I can tell you that the Netflix series lacked several things, things that were in the M.Night adaptation. Also, at least for me, several things were done better in the movie than in the Netflix adaptation

@@jarrodbanks4289 How traumatized they are by that moment. And really it was only one who moved the little stone. They always use that example to attack the movie but they never mention the good things it did have.
And what did M.Night do better? I'll give you a couple of examples: Aang practicing controlling water several times and is even an important part of Aang's character development. In the new series he never tried to learn to control water, which he had to do because he is the Avatar. When he really uses water is when he is the giant spirit.
Aang's pacifism: in the movie he tries not to kill anyone, which is why I love the giant wave scene even more than in the animated series. In the Netflix one, however, Aang as a giant spirit mercilessly destroys Fire Nation vessels. Also when the blue spirit part happens in the movie Aang only pushes and immobilizes the enemy soldiers, he does not kill them, in the new series he does kill soldiers by throwing them off the wall.
Zhao's character: in the movie he may not physically look like a damn, but since it is somewhat better than the one on Netflix, much of his merit in the series is because Azula helped him climb in power and the information from the spirits is given to him the wise men of fire, however in the movie he was already someone important in the Fire Nation and he obtained the information from the spirits by visiting the Great Library, just like in the animated series.
The blue spirit's part in the new series was fighting on a wall and then jumping between stairs. In the movie they fight in a courtyard with more soldiers and the combat is longer.
The final battle in the movie looks bigger with the Fire Nation using things like drills to enter the city, using some kind of Greek fire to melt the ice and break through the wall as well as using giant lizards as mounts. In the new series you only see the firebenders attack with their powers and that's it. I do not know if you understand me.
And so I could continue saying several successes about M.Night's film. But Hey, I'm not hating either of the two adaptations because I liked them both a lot.
