Shekhar ji, you are too kind. Sharadraoji Pawar’s real estate corruption which funded his own and later NCP’s politics are well known to long term Mumbaikars. Drive around back bay reclamation in South Mumbai and then Belapur CBD to see the buildings which testify to his politics. If you wanted Indian politics to be cleaned up, Sharadraoji politics would need to be given a ceremonial burial.

Since last many years people like Shekhar Gupta and Rajdeep often praise Sharad Pawar saying he is a zabardast politician. And I have been watching Pawar since around 1977, he has never impressed me for anything... Politics, administration etc... Yes he has been impressive in creating wealth and assets for himself and family.... very impressive indeed
talking about Sharad Pawar without even mentioning the rampant corruption he indulged in is like talking about Sachin Tendulkar without mentioning any of the centuries he scored.
I have watched more than 100 episodes of Cut the Clutter and I have enjoyed and learnt a lot from them. But listening to Shekhar ji eulogize probably the most corrupt politician of independent India was just painful.

I am so shocked that you are calling him a very colorful personality after his lies to you. He was the big let down because people expected a lot from him. @@Vizorfamt's not going to be that easy for both BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) going ahead. There will be dissent in both these parties and dent the BJP's growth in the state. Sympathy factor might work in Sharad Pawar's favour. There are many corruption charges against Ajit and his faction which the opposition could exploit in the lead upto the elections. BJP appears to be short sighted as it is only looking for short term gains.

He is a politician known for his Machiavellian style of politics. For him,power is key to sustaining his patronage networks and cooperative institutions. He has built the party around his own persona and image. But he is facing the biggest political challenge of his life after his nephew split the original NCP and loss of the party symbol. His reaction to the situation will determine or cement his legacy.

Old "mind set" polticians have to make way for younger ones through a democratic process. The new and emerging India with its young voter base are FEDUP with dynastic politics (btw some old timers still yearn for them but their time is up !!) and want to see fresh and ethusiastic young faces who are committed to work for the welfare of the ordinary people and spend very little time accumulating wealth for themselves or their party...they realize this the century for India to grow and become a prosperous nation they can be proud of by leaving a fabulous legacy to follow for the next generation.

When Supriya Sule was contesting for Rajya Sabha, Bala Saheb Thackerey helped him by not putting up a contest. She was elected unopposed.

I am from Mumbai....it is a very wrong statement on the 1.05 min that Sharad Pawar is victorious...it is exactly opposite..Ajit Pawar has maximum support....Sharad Pawar betrayed so many people....in his autobiography he has mentioned that he didn't know about the Oath ceremony at the early morning with BJP...which was contradicted first by BJP and then latest by Ajit Pawar and all NCP leaders....but no reporters like Gupta n Sardesai taking this issue....so it clearly shows their agenda.....
Everyone in Maharashtra knows that NCP is a party of 3 and half districts....Only outsiders like these reporters are eager to prove this party of a National status...
