Ok, I will keep my s24 ultra till next 5 years
And don't update it. Last time, Samsung has ruined s23u with updates especially camera for s24u
Bravo❤🫵
@@sxepantFTW Yeah not just the camera but the battery life too. It's atrocious now 😒
@@sxepantFTW reinstall original rom
Say Wallah.
Finally, an actual review no one on YT has done so far.
I updated from s23u to s24u because of the flat screen. Looking at this video, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to update to s25u. I'm just waiting for One UI 7.
Merci bratko, od Srbija.
Ja sam jos na Note 10+ koji radi perfektno. I ako prelazih a necu jos, nikakave potrebe za ista bolje od 23ultra. Pozz iz CG ✌️😊
I am more excited with my S23 Ultra after it gets the OneUi 7 Android 15. After watching this video, i am more happy and convinced that keeping my S23 Ultra is the best decisions and money saving move i can make, auto skip S24U and S25U literally, thankyou very much for this kind of video velian, please keep the S23 Ultra in your future videos, will keep on watching, love from the UAE
I have the S23 Ultra and I've kept it even though I've bought the S25 Ultra. S23 Ultra will be a classic.
Sadly all these phones without an SD card slot are just bad
I have the s23 ultra too and I wish I had the brighter screen and corning glass outside
I have just bought S25U from S23U.
Not missing the S23U, S25U is visibly faster than S25U.
Overall way smoother. And small improvements like flat screen, brightness, nonreflective screen are good updates. I also finding the S25u to handle little easier . Although weight and dimensions r not that different.
@sidha22 it surprised me in my testing way better display and faster way better speakers and selfie camera
S23 ultra 😮
😮
Talk my S23 Ultra doesn't film like that.
Wait for next update of s25 ultra
even an update won't catch up.@@ajittamangofficial3830
@@paulorpsouzaMy S23U films like that, yours too, unless it has a problem. It's the small size of the image that tricks you, he split the video in three equal parts so he can fit three smartphones filming so it seems better, where as you are filming in full screen and you can see much more details and notice the imperfections. Try zooming his video in portrait mode at the highest quality and put the S23U at the center, you'll see what I'm talking about.
The cameras are not really getting so much better lately. I have the S23 Ultra and it does everything very good! I will keep it a long time. Nice review
The S25U is much better at handling exposure, noise and detail. Even colour is more accurate. It's easily ahead
Makes sense, the S23U is slowly becoming a legend...and it's will work fine for another 2-3 years...
@LosBlancoo and after first update, s25 will be beast ❤
Yes phone S23 ultra Integrated device
S23 series best phones! I own the base model and I will keep this until it breaks.
At the launch of the S24 Ultra, the 10x lens of the S23 Ultra was MUCH better in sharpness, and after all, it's a hardware limitation, a 10x lens of the S23 Ultra versus a 5x of the S24 Ultra.
What did Samsung do?
They reduced the capacity of the 10x lens via updates and increased the sharpness of the 5x lens of the S24 Ultra. Well, soon, to show that "something has changed" between the S24 Ultra and the S25 Ultra, they will do the same thing, reducing the quality of the lens via software.
I so much like this 10x, actually the 5x 50MP is almost same if not better at 10x, but the footage often looks over processed, very digital and oversharpened.
And beyond 10x like to 30x, the 10x still provides organic photos which I like
Absolutely! That's why I stopped updating my S22U when the S23U came up!
I think S23 Ultra is legand among these, S23 Ultra is doing better job after 2 years
Is it just me or the S23U looks the best? 🤔
To washed out
I don't remember S23/24 difference being so noticeable in last year comparissons.
Downgrading theory 💔
El 24 ultra lo actualizan más
That's because they changed the tone almost completely last year
S24 ultra got alot of camera based updates
@ not that it didn't happen in past...
This might be a crazy opinion but I noticed that every year Samsung releases a new phone the cameras look good. One of reason I purchased my S23 ultra was because the camera was so good. The 200 mp camera was fantastic after the second update the camera started taking soft images. Over time my S23 ultra and after many software updates the photos just don’t look as good as it used to.
every android phone does that. so that the newest cellphone sells well on the market
That's why I intentionally stopped updating my S23 Ultra. Updates are sometimes actually downgrades.
I honestly wonder if TH-camrs don’t see that. I have gotten to the conclusion that most (Not all) TH-camrs are not interested in speaking the truth. They will say whatever gets them paid. At this point I lost all interest in what’s the best camera, what’s the best this and that! Every years is the same story. It reminds me of a dog chasing its own tail. You buy “The best camera” “The best speakers” ‘the best battery life” and a month later TH-camrs are already talking about the next new thing.
Congratulations for the excellent comparison and the use with faststone image viewer for photo comparison
It is the first serious and precise camera test that I have seen between the s23, s24 and the s25 ultra.
Great video!!
Thank a lot, man!
PS. for much more precise viewing of original photos disable the "smooth" checkbox 😉
Tnx man! Yes fastine is really great and yea I forgot to disable the smoothing 😬
Smoothing is equally apply on all 3 smartphone photos so the test is valid!
Not a real problem indeed!@@VelianSpeaksTech
If the s23 ultra had a higher mp 10x it would be unbeatable.

I absolutely guarantee if you told people the s23u camera was the s25u they wouldn’t be surprised. Great phone
Samsung has intentionally degraded the 3x lens in s23 ultra.
Same thing for S22U. Since 2023 the camera quality is horrible. Zoom (especially after 20X when the algorithm kicks in) looks like oil painting or even worse than that! I wish I never updated the software...
@RobertJianuthat’s why I’ll just switch to oneplus
BS
I have discovered information you may find interesting. Regarding the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, rumors suggest that One UI 7.1 will introduce significant video enhancements for the S23 and S24 series, including a refined interface and log video capabilities. Given that these are primarily software-based improvements, this seems highly probable. A timeframe within the year is anticipated, though specific dates remain unconfirmed.
Watching from my S23 Ultra and I'm really shocked at how it has held up. Guess I'll keep the phone for another year at least.
Reviews like these are the reason I don't care about cameras anymore. The gains are not that great. I'm not trying to film a high quality movie with my phone. Any flagship has a decent enough camera for me.
That's true
I am also not a professional, but I actually noticed the huge jump from going to s23 ultra from S8+ and appreciate the improvements a lot. But with that said: The differences between these 3 generations are too small or non-existent.
@@akeclipsee I see what your saying but I'm referring to year after year upgrades and flagship against flag ship. Camera isn't a thing when I consider and upgrade.
Olhando esse vídeo percebi que meu 23ultra ainda está em alto nível, sendo muito mais barato! Não faz sentido no momento fazer um upgrade para o s25u só pelas câmeras. Parabéns pelo vídeo, muito educativo 👏👏👏
Question: Why don't you compare the S22ultra to the rest of the Samsung S23, S24 and S25 series?
Thank you for this video! I noticed that your S23U camera quality isn't as good as it used to be. The same thing happened on my S22 Ultra too. Since 2023, the camera quality is so bad, especially the long range zoom (20X pictures or above look like oil painting, it's unusable! They broke the zoom algorithm). I wish I never updated the software! My pictures from 2022 when the phone was new look incredible, they are so clear! They do that in order to make you think that your phone is outdated and you need to buy the latest one
S23ultra the survival it stay the best . Keep your S23ultra dont waste your money .
thanks i had the s22 ultra and thought it was not an upgrade but it certainly was!
S25 Ultra has nice improvements in Portrait mode - cutouts, it near perfectly cuts out tiny details, like stray hair etc. 22:32
Aqui es donde todos se dan cuenta cuan bueno salio el poderoso S23 ULTRA con su 10x ptico 😎😎😎🏅🏅🏆🏆🏆💥💥
Can you compare these cameras in low light ?
I'm using S23ultra with Gcam, best combo that can last me a long time
gcam with a good configs just destroys stock not only here but almost on any other phone, pixel included.
Where can I download gcam ?
Dirty game by some brand like Samsung. First they would not upgrade the hardware on the other hand they keep downgrading previous generation camera by software. Don't upgrade to S25ULTRA if you already have S23/24ultra.
The updates destroyed the older phones for sure!
I think there should be another part of this video, with all phones running on the same version of UI. S23 Ultra did not get any UI_7.0 upgrade which may definitely be improvising the 10x zoom lens capability and other color/tone optimization
After this video, I am 100% convinced that a yearly upgrade is not necessary
How different of a result can you get from the same (almost) hardware each year, Samsung. Colors and exposure defaults look very different from each of the phone. Kind of better with each consecutivee S-series, but seriously, the tweaks should make it down to previous generations, even 90% matching would be acceptable. If 7 Years of OS updates means just new software features, but on the first few years little to nothing gets fixed, whilst running on the exact same hardware, then how is it going to be after 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 years, when the hardware will change? Worthless feature drops with broken features?
Agree
Great video! I'm curious to know how they would've faired with HDR turned on for video... Can you make an HDR video comparison next, please?
I will advice people to stop software updates on their phones, they downgrade things on the older flagship to sell the new ones
You showed the best way to compare phones camera quality. Congrats 👏👏👏
Scamsung has downgraded the 10x optical by software update to present the 5x looking superior in latest model. SHAME!!!
We need to report our opinions or make peticion to Samsung. They need to improve the 10x optical camera on S23 ultra!
Is that correct do we have a before and after comparison?
I own the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and I previously had the S24 Ultra and S23 Ultra.
Samsung doesn’t make the best camera phones... Vivo does, followed by Oppo.
The 10x sensor was better than the 5x, but with Samsung’s stock camera app, it performed poorly. However, with GCam, it delivered outstanding results.
If you own an S23 Ultra, I highly recommend using a GCam port
@@lorloru which gcam port version do you use? since it a lot of version make me confused.
@ragaadin9408 I don't have S23U anymore. But I remember I liked Egoist Gcam and JavaSaBr Gcam
Thank god i didn't #update my s23 ultra since 2023❤
S23 the best?? Increíble
I managed to get an extremely good deal on a 25U so I'm upgrading from my 23U. I adore the 10x lens because it's brought me so many more photo opportunities that I'd never have had without it, so the comparison to the 25U at 5x optical plus zoom to make a 10x equivalent is really useful.
Great video. The s25 has an amazing zoom camera, but fails pretty bad at the regular 1x, it looks very soft at times as if DNR is cranked up. Also a little dark, they need to brighten it up a little via algorithm. 4k60 also very soft. If they can correct those issues then it's a near perfect camera. Seems the s24 is the very good middle guy.
One thing that blew me away about the s25 ultra was the speakers and performance. The speakers are amazing compared to my s23 ultra. Also in this video, I love the s23 ultra brighter oversaturation
The S24 Ultra is what I'm looking for 👍
@velian speaks tech this is a beautiful landscape. Where did you take this footage? :)
This is Vitosha mountain ⛰️ in Bulgaria, Sofia.
S24 in my humilde opinion, is the winner in a geral comparison
Very good comparison and video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you!
New to your Channel recommended from Jeff. Thanks so much for sharing.✌️
Thanks for coming man!
How? How? How did you get the S23 Ultra without oversharpening the photos and maintaining the same level of detail as the other two?
Congratulations on the excellent comparison, bro!
Great video that helps people like me to notice actual differences between the phones! One question though, I own an S22 Ultra which is closer to the S23 Ultra lens-wise, would an upgrade to the S25 Ultra be actually beneficial? I know that I lose the 10x optical (which Samsung may have nerfed to make the newer phones look better) but I get the 200mp main camera and the 50mp ultrawide in return. For me it seems worth it but i dont know much about cameras
If you use UW a lot or often, you will have gains, not only 50MP but also the aperture is now f/1.9 vs 2.2 so it will be able to capture more light in low light scenarios, but yes, you will sacrifice the 10x 10mp. So it all depends on what you use more, 10x or UW, if it`s UW, you can go for S25U.
@@VelianSpeaksTech Thank you very much for the reply!
After using my s24 ultra with 5x lens to record dirt track racing for a few months, I've returned to the 10x lens on the s23 ultra as I found the s24 ultra consistently had this rubber band effect in the same exact areas whilst panning (pan suddenly slows and then jump ahead which creates an obvious jump in the video as if I aggressively yanked the phone in one direction.
Need a gcam comparison with 3 phones also pls
For the moment and from what I see on the big screen the gap is greater between the S23U and the S24U than the gap between the S24u and the S25U. Knowing Samsung, they will ensure that the gap between the last 2 widens by increments or decrements on both sides. the quality of the S23U remains remarkable in certain aspects. Currently certainly Samsung's legend in terms of Ultracam... while waiting for a new semi decade... or not... I hope, for the user and the market...
All products are great .... n the update makes fade the product..... so everything gave best when it got launched... so love your saving n investment..... never regret
I think that s23 ultra has a way better hdr than s24 and s25, i don't know why but there is a big difference in video and photo
The king is S24 Ultra 👍
honestly, the changes are very minimal if you don't pixel peep. time for Samsung to change their hardware. I'm getting bored with Sammy I might switch to xiaomi 15 ultra. my s24 ultra is amazing but I need that beastly camera.
My condolences
@mrkring1526 yeah I know right, Samsungs innovation died. 😁 💩 🤭
Buy a camera instead. It’ll cost less. Samsung has great software you can’t compare it with xiomi ui
@@abhinav_verman I need a camera, an editing device, a media playing device etc. I don't want to buy something that only has one function. my s24 ultra is good but honestly in lowlight, vivo and xiaomi is better.
@@BLAKEEATS1988 if only camera is priority then you can go for that phone. It'll capture good pictures.
Excellent comparison video Velian 👌🏼
I would say the differences in video and images are very minimal in most circumstances. On certain occasions, the S25 Ultra excels, other occasions it will be the S24 or S23 Ultra. On high zooming, the S25 and S24 Ultra do have sharper images, but I wonder how much of that is due the image processing in One UI 7 (that's if you still have the Beta on the S24 Ultra).
But if anyone has an S23 or S24 Ultra, you should not be disappointed in the image and video output, as in my opinion all 3 phones provide a top level camera performance that is very similar in pretty much most circumstances.
S23 ultra back camera video is looking better than s24 and 25 ultra both

Perfect video :)
Not sure with the choices here even the zoom shots, but it's really all personal preference to be considered a good photo. Honestly, lacking of details at a long distance makes it soft overall. Majority of phones have their larger sensor which captured more details than the past generation phone, and the new phone received underwhelming feedbacks considering the improvements it made from the color accuracies and details.
That feeling when the Galaxy s23 ultra shoots in many scenes no worse than the new product, and more than one year has passed
s24 ultra
You got one subscriber more. Are you from Bulgaria?
1) the S24U has by far the best exposure! But all look almost the same.
2) 3x zoom: S24U wins. The S25U is garbage (or the lens were dirty)
3) 5x zoom or more: S25U has the best algorithm
Here is clear that optical 5x is a far better option than optical 10x, other than that, they tuned the S25U to underexpose (faster shutter or lower ISO, that makes photos have less noise and more detail) and the S24U has the best exposure but the algorithm has to clear more noise/washed out detail.
My S25U is ordered.
They could easily improve everything with updates. They leave the worst processing for the buy latest smartphone😒
Absolutely no need to upgrade from my S23 Ultra
2:53 Why did S25 Ultra lag a bit?
3:39 3x on S25 Ultra looks the worst here, tbh.
If someone that owns the s23u wants a noticeable improvement then the latest Chinese flagships are the better options
Except not everyone wants Chinese garbage
Vivo x200 pro is the good choice
Xiaomi 15 ultra will be better due to all rounder, more features than vivo unless you only use just for photo
S24 ultra 🤴
a really unique comparison..brother..i am really feeling like..getting s24 ultra isn't a bad idea this year for me at least ...
S23 way to bright, s25 way to dark 😂
😂😂😂😂
The S24 Ultra looks the best to me.
What setting did you use for the S23 ultra
U know what's crazy? This comparison's gotta be redone once all phones are running One UI 7. 🤯 #Android #OneUI #Samsung #Phones #Update
Done watching now. My conclusion, s25u > s24u > s23u, but the difference is not that big unless you "pixel peep". What will be interesting is how the 23u & 24u will behave after OneUI upgrade. Will the 25u camera updates apply there to, or not.
Let's hope it won't get worse with updates...
@VelianSpeaksTech if it stays the same, it beggs the question "why"? SW limitations or changes in the optics/sensor design.
Anyhow, you deserved a sub from a Serbian brother.
Samsung has deliberately made the 10x zoom worse on the s23 ultra. I use this feature lot, and I am now recording the differences. Do not buy the new phone if this how Samsung treats its customers.
Bit it still kicks ass!
It really helps that you constantly swap around where each one is.
S24 Ultra is still pretty good
I get my s25 ultra tomorrow. I generally update my phone every 2 years as thats what my contract is, then my kids inherit the old one. One thing i always do is pull out all of my old galaxies for a camera test and always find the new phone camera sucks in some departments! I still have on hand galaxy s2, s5, s6, s8, note 10, s21 ultra and s23 ultra. Ome thing i can absolutely guarantee you, is the camera with the crispest detail will be the s6. Whilst it doesnt have all the HDR goodmess of modern phones and sucks in low light, during the day that 16 MP sony sensor absolutely smokes every other camera for detail, even when you have the 12MP binning modes turned off and operate them at their maximum resolution. Theres obviously some mathematical reason everyone went for 12MP, but ive always thought they missed a trick not settling on a 16MP sensor and making improvements from there.
I still keep my S9 from Japan, with a Snapdragon, old phones like these, sge like wine.
Any differences in video stuttering?
S25 not over sharpening gg for samsung
Заметно, что S25 Ultra не замолкает при съемке видео 4K 60 FPS; это хороший шаг вперед благодаря мощному процессору.

Me too now that I see how it performs, dammit it, why??? 5x is okay but it's not the same >10x
@@VelianSpeaksTechThe 10x with Samsung’s stock camera app, it performs poorly. However, with GCam, it delivers good results, better than S24U 5x with good lighting.

The best s23u
S23 to S25 is an Ok Upgrade... But S22 to S25 is a phenomenal upgrade
Agreed. I went from the note 20 ultra to the 25 ultra and I’m blown away when shooting at 5x and 10x
de 22 a 25 si de 23 a 25 es gastar dinero
I love my s23 ultra. But that s24 ultra is hell of impressive
Hi, from 14:39 you talk about the ultra wide cameras. The file sizes are similar, so I assume you did not switch to 50 MB on the S25. Instead, the default 12 MB was used, just like on the other phones. It is evident that in this case the pictures look quite similar.
Yes, I say it I think in some part of the video, I kept all on 12mp, and the video on 4k60, just 4k30 in some scenarios for the S23U to be able to change lenses.
The 50mp for sure will bring some advantages but I was looking more to check the color consistency between UW and the other lenses.
Also the f is now 1.9 so it will be better for sure, for the ones that use UW + can get closer now on objects = better macro. This is the only real hardware upgrade vs S24U in the camera domain.
My S24u is a keeper!
this is what I expected for ❤
Wow!!! I can't believe that the S23 Ultra is better than the S25 Ultra in so many situations. Samsung is getting worse with each new release.
S25 UIltra is clearly a bit better in most. But S23 Ultra is good in some.
But remember that 25% are green and need updating.
Thank you for the good comparison. The video does not look smooth in different places on all 3 models and has small jerks. I've had these stutters on all my Samsung phones since the S20 and it's a shame that Samsung can't do better with flagship devices in 2025. The stutters get even worse when the video material is edited and there are also videos from other cameras (for example the DJI Osmo Pocket 3) on the timeline. These stutters also increase when all recordings are made with all devices at 4K 60 FPS. This bothers me so much that I have long since stopped producing recordings with my smartphone that I want to watch later on a TV.
It's mostly caused by the H.265 encoding. The H.264 one produces more stable video but the file size is much bigger.
