I want to share my thoughts on this song since I really love it ^^ A vow , and promise long ago:refers to the promise he made with abyss or alice Was sealed with blood:refers to chain he made contract with Reborn into this world of love didn't deserve: when he got out the abyss and landed on the gate at rainsworth house and made friends with Sharon , reim etc Skipp a few lyrics later cuz pretty self explanatory The red of my eye will fade through time: in manga , break eventually became blind. So prob refers to when his eye sight become worse and eventually becomes blind The shadow of my past cast by foolish dreams I once had: prob refers to the chasire arc cuz when he entered chasire's dome , he was immediately thrown into a dream of his past. The darkness comes I feel it , soon my heart will be still so show me ur smile once more: in the manga , he eventually dies. ofc before he dies , he prob could feel his death inching closer and closer (becuz body feels more fragile due to contract) he wants to see Sharon's smile before he leaves
