So prob refers to when his eye sight become worse and eventually becomes blind The shadow of my past cast by foolish dreams I once had: prob refers to the chasire arc cuz when he entered chasire's dome , he was immediately thrown into a dream of his past. I think even tho you wrote this from Gilberts perspective, some parts could also be interpreted as Jack's perspective. Like the part when you said 'Nobody knows what happened between you and him' because nobody knew what kind of connection Lacie and Jack shared, and also the part where it says 'Don't ever doubt my resolve' it can also reflect on Jack's wish to bring Lacie the world even tho it was wrong..its a really beautiful lyrics, thank you for making it ♥️
