Great post! Thanks for the great work you are doing to help the diaspora who want to move back. Your channel also helps people like me who already moved back home. I considered all of the factors you mentioned before moving back home. I wish I moved back a long long time ago! Jamaica is more expensive than the African countries I considered. However, I am loving the relatively low cost of living compared to the USA.
You give everything back in bills, especially winter trying to keep warm, paying the Gas bill. We continue to ask God to direct and help us plan our way through.
@kuyahkudey3217 Totally! Our money would go further in some of the African countries. Nevertheless, we are enjoying the cost in comparison to in the UK. 🎶💎✨

Another excellent video, you're doing a great service to many of us in the diaspora. I will be home next year for house hunting. I bought some land but instead of building I'm gonna buy.
I completely understand everything you’re saying, I’m thinly of moving back now and it’s a great deal to think about. Mandeville is my favourite spot as the weather is close to Canada fall season . 🎉🎉
Thanks for the info, I am currently living in Connecticut, for the past four years my husband and I have been going back every year. We have spending 3 months at a time, my husband is 66 yrs and I'm 60 yrs so I still have a while for retirement. We have built our house already. Just hoping that the health care system will get better.
I had great experiences with the healthcare system in Jamaica. It is a lot more affordable than the USA and here you don't have to worry about ray-izm in the hospital and with doctors.
@jacquelinelinville-brown3221 Fully understand and great the foundations are all in place. 👏🏾 Many people have different experiences with the healthcare. Most of the people we speak to are positive about their experience. Nevertheless, in any scenario, there will be people who have negative experience. 🎉💯
I agree with all the concerns that you have discussed. I started building two years ago and have been visiting several times per year for several years now. I hope to return soon .
That is definitely the way to go... How is the building process going and where about are you building. We pray that Your Plan of Return works well. ✨🤩💎

Good day to you! I’ve just found your channel. I’m watching you from the south coast of England, I am in the seaside town of Worthing. I will be in Port Antonio three weeks from now to look at holiday homes for my retirement. I found all your points of interest really the same as mine. Great perspective and I’m glad you have settled nicely in Jamaica. Looking forward to the warmer weather in Jamaica, now that the temperature is getting cold in England. Have a great day! Thanks Alan 😊
Alan, welcome to the JamFam Tribe! 🎉 Port Antonio Is an awesome place. So much adventure to be had. Thanks and we pray all goes well for your return. Keep us posted! 🙏🏾
@@LifewiddiJamFams thank you very much for your reply. The first three nights I will be staying in Kingston and hopefully attending some food And drink festivals and then on day four I will move over to Port Antonio for the remainder of my holiday and that is where I will focus my attention on the east coast looking for a holiday home. My intention is to spend the English Winters in Jamaica to escape the cold weather. take care 😊
I had the same thoughts and considered Africa and other English speaking countries, but the reality is I am a Jamaican. I understand my native language. I know and love the food of Jamaica. In Africa there are issues with land ownership and citizenship depends on the government and you can be asked to leave depending on the political situation. I don’t have to be concerned about these things in Jamaica because I am home.
Those are some of the other things we discovered in our research... Most don't sell the land, they lease it... Jamaica is a landscape we are use to and therefore, a place worth returning to once we understand the landscape... 🤩💯💎
Thanks for the vid. I grappled with the same thoughts over the same thing and arrived at the same conclusion as you. Loved Tanzania and considered it being my base. I felt safe and the people were friendly. However, my Swahili was lacking. The voice in my head said "suppose you tek sick?" Rwanda is nice too and no language issues. That aside, there's family land in Jamaica so it's where my base will be eventually...Thanks again for the vid
You are welcome! It's important to explore all the different factors and face the best solution for us as individuals and for our family. Hopefully everything works well with you for you to be able to move back to Jamaica in the way you wish to achieve it. 💎🤩🎶
Jamaica is our home. Different languages, tribes, culture, etc. in Africa plus it’s way too far to travel to and from. Kudos to those who want to move there but it’s definitely not for me.
Most people still keep their option open that if things get bad in Jamaica they can always go back too. Most only tell you that they move back to Jamaica, but never tell you when they are going back. Just a thought.
I have been living outside of Jamaica for a very long, long time. But Jamaica has never left me. I must admit I thought of Rwanda. However, it is just too far from Jamaica. Furthermore, I still have a strong support group in Jamaica . So the land of my birth will definitely be my home not long from now.
That's okay! We always need to weigh up our options and see what is best for us. You've done that and now concluded on Jamaica. We pray all goes well with Your Plan of Return! 🎶💎💯

Besides i see my black Americans brothers & sisters getting weathy here in the USA and still being treated like trash & thats the part i truly hate about living here.....I love your content, thanks so much....
Absolutely! Your idea of staying 2 months, then 4 months, then 6 months is totally a great approach to give you small and increasing burst of stay to acclimatise to the Jamaica way of life. 💯💎🎶
To me, returning to Jamaica is my first option but to my Husband Jamaica is THE only choice 😊. Panama is my second choice for many reasons including for its Jamaica influences.
That's all good and everything but the more we talk about how good the country is and the natural foods, remember you have a prime minister that lets any first world country come and put things in Jamaica. The more TH-cam video I watched the more I see rich white people going down there and buying off the land because they are hearing what you're saying. The thing I don't want to see is less black and more of everyone else and then racism becomes an issue. They like to come around us a lot and change things. Anyway very good information, thank you.
😂😂🤣 People are looking for a better way of life and where they can build. There is a growing population of people who are seeking to get back to the good old way of living, off the grid and soak up the native way of living. Thanks for your feedback and you are welcome! 🎉🧨🎶
