When in Jamaica I buy everything locally grown that I can
That is the best approach, they fruits are juicy and delicious. 💯🎉
I would not move to Jamaica only to buy expensive apples. Jamaican fruits are available for much cheaper and taste better
Fair point! They are sold in the market and fruit stalls throughout the country, which means people are buying them.
Fortunately, I do not eat processed food. The food I eat I buy at the open air market. So far my food costs have been 1/3 of what I spent in the US. Toiletries and other things…that’s a whole other story! Lawd it expensive!!
That's the healthiest way! Some ground produce cost similar to the supermarket prices when we go into the market. Two plantains for example is between JM$400 and JM$500 at this point in the year. The toiletry can definitely be expensive 🧐💎 Growing and sharing with others who grow is the best way if you have the facilities to do so, for sure!
Yes, food is expensive in jamaica
People need to buy more local and plant more to reduce food bill
Surely, it might depend on where they live. Although container gardening is becoming popular in the metropolitan area and could catch on in apartment complexes. ✨🎇
@LifewiddiJamFams indeed
We can plant in almost anything , boxed, bin bags etc
Growing up we ate from the farmers at the market.
Welcome back again Miss lady
Thanks for returning and tuning in to another video! 🎶✨💯
I've spend at least $500 a month in the State for Florida for two person. I would prefer to buy food in Jamaica than to ship a food barrel, I would purchase more JM brands than others, eggs and bread are way cheaper in Jamaica.
Thanks for sharing your average monthly shopping bill! 💎👊🏾 Is that more expensive than other major states? 🤔💎
Couldn't you zoom in more of the prices you move too quickly
you could just pause the video.
@beverleyreid563 Thank you Beverly 😊 for that feedback that is my opinion and I myself find it frustrating 😑
@joanmuschette2606 We tried to zoom as much as possible. Try slowing down the speed and see if that helps. We'll keep your feedback in mind for next time. 💎💯
@beverleyreid563 Hopefully pausing has helped! 🌟✨
Everywhere is getting expensive even ina 🇬🇧 supermarket thinks 🤔 are Not cheap Nomore
Totally! Jamaica, like other import dependent countries are going to have high prices with certain things. 🧐💎
You need to come to the Bahamas then you will really see how expensive food is compare to Jamaica.
Thanks for engaging in the conversation! 🧨🎶 What is a typical food bill for your family (number of people) each month? 🤔🧐
She is very good
Thanks you! 💯😊
Bread is very inexpensive. Less than $2 usd. It's $6usd in Florida
Brown bread is a bit over US$3 and that is due to the wheat flour imports. We cannot imagine a bread is now US$6. That is expensive! 😲
you can't see the prices
We'll keep that in mind for next time, although zoomed in as much as possible. Try pausing or slowing down the speed and see if that helps. 💎
Very expensive
Food tends to be here and hence using best value is the best way around the problem and grow what you can. 💯💎
Grow a garden
I fully support gardening, but we haven’t be realistic about the challenges that could pose for certain soil types, insects, irrigation, etc…. Assuming persons who are renting have access to land or authorization to cultivate on owner’s land.
Thank you for the info. Love the polite and non-defensive tone in which you chose to respond to the person who asked what you were doing 16:09.
@Camrose1907 Thanks for making the suggestion. 💎
@faithm2535 Thanks! 😊 Curiousity is a good thing most of the times... 💯
@faithm2535 Certainly! The gardening might not always be as straightforward. They could do container gardening, which is on the increase in Metropolitan areas. However, there might be other restricting circumstances. 💯
