The blanks for this xanthorrhoea (aka grasstree) endgrain box were saved from an earlier project • Richard Raffan turns a... , where you see the lid cut from inside the bowl.
Thank you for all the work you put into these videos, your instructional style, and your willingness to share all of your expertise. You are helping us all be better turners. Thank you!
Very nice use of the "scrap" from your last turning. I keep telling my wife, "I don't have any scrap wood, just wood I haven't done anything with yet."
I've learned a lot just by watching how you handle tools ( particularly the skew ) and about basic design. That has helped me a lot over the last couple of years. So thank you again for all you do with your videos.
Interesting material Richard. Nice to see how it is worked. Not something I have seen in the States, but something that looks interesting to work. Again, Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
This is one of my favorite pieces that you have made Richard. I really liked how the material inspired the design. I have gotten relatively proficient at my turning, but struggle with the design process.
@@RichardRaffanwoodturning I do as well. I met some of the best woodturners in the world there, in my opinion, and you were one of them. Good job with the close up camera work. What are you using for cameras and editing software?
Love watching you turn. It is effortless, or it at least looks like it. Thank you Richard. You inspire us all to be better.

Great stuff Richard.
You never seem to get flustered and always have a good solution for any unforeseen problems that arise.
A lovely little hut box. It remains an odd material, but it does look excellent. Many thanks for another amusing and educational video.
My friend, you continue to amaze me… and others!
Thank you for sharing your talent.
Cheers!

Thanks Richard. I was looking forward to this part two, lovely.
Such a good concept, turning a hut from grass tree. So well executed. 👍🏼

Richard it's amazing to see you give such a good presentation on TH-cam. I met you in 2016 at the Utah symposium. Good to see you are well. Thank you.
I like to think these videos are very similar to my sympoisium demos with slightly better camerawork. I miss those Utah Symposiums.
