I got the same dont move the stick so much talk in the hover flying TSV lol. The 350 is very aptly named the squirrel, and it really does keep you on your toes with its pedal demand.
I met Peter briefly, everybody talks highly of him and he seems like a humble but stern instructor, everyone can learn a thing from him even just hovering. I hope to learn more from him in the future.
Instructor seems to use quite a bit of incorrect terminology and is uncertain of actual flight manual procedures. Recommend you read the flight manual and know and understand all your systems and emergency procedures. Might also be a good idea to fly with an instructor who is competent with AS350 emergency procedures, ie pulling the throttle back for auto's and touching down with hydraulics off :) Hope you enjoy the AS350. It's a great workhorse, especially the B3 with 2B1engine or B3e
Hey Darcy, just gotta remember the power pedal is the right pedal. Squirrel by name squirrel by nature, just gotta remember to relax. Loving your content
Keep these videos coming mate I always wanted to fly helicopters, can’t disabled so I got into building ag drones & mustering cattle. Got my RePL, AROC & studying for my ReOC now :)
That instructor, who I believe is P. Holstein, is my instructor! He is the most calm and sweet man I have ever met and have had the pleasure of having as my instructor
have you ever done a video of how to fly a Bell jetranger that you normally use, i see the airbus helicopter you was using in this vid is a tricky one to fly so are the Bell choppers a lot easier to fly, i see the life flight in QLD seem to have a lot of the Bell 412-eps and a couple of the aw139's and a saw a kawasaki chopper at one stage.
Hahahaha and everyone has the same reaction to those HYD off moment. FYI I had a passenger knock the HYD switch on the collective in flight. It was as he described. The fastest way to kill yourself. But a great instructor can hand over to you the right tools to save yourself in any situation.
Awesome Darcy. Great that you have Peter as your instructor - Welcome back to Australia too ;)
One of the best instructions I've seen I reckon.

‘Hit this button and you’ve just killed yourself’
‘Yeah sweet’
Hi Mate, Great content mate, love your videos, watched them all. Ill keep watching. Great job.

Great video mate. Would love to see more of your flying back in aus :)
This is a great video man! Thanks for sharing. Would love to see more videos like this :)

Brilliant instructional video, great instructor. Love to see more.

Every person I've seen taking their first spin in a squirrel has that shocked look.
Dancy - "Yeah I'm just having a bit of fun"
Inst - Well lets try to do it in balance 😝😝😝
Love this guy!
Well done. That helicopter seems overly complicated compared to some that I've seen.
awesome. can you move the cables out of the way for the next video?
Yeah no worries, throwing the camera in this flight was kinda last minute
Brilliant!
If you drag the RPM to the bottom of the green (320) you will go from 2000 fpm rate of decent to about ~1400 fpm
Thanks mate love the channel where are you working now?
hey man, im doing some fire wok down in Vic and Tas this season
Wow. I'm not a pilot but it looks like it went well!!
Great video ! How do you record the mic in the helicopter ?
hey mate, i got it here www.nflightcam.com/collections/frontpage/products/nflightcam-cockpit-kit-for-gopro-hero9-black
@@bushpiloting thanks budy
What do they use the Helicopter for? I see radios in there used for business and public safety.
Fires, Tourism and Training
It really is that much more cyclic sensitive than a 206? Well done mate, another rating on the way
yeah it’s a different beast
Cool
Which version? B1?
SD1
So many "don't touch that button " lol
Man, is that cyclic ever reactive!! Goodness….
So what did that cost? I was offered a AS350 job but only if I paid for the endorsement. I said no.
Cost me nothing. The company I was working for paid for it
@@bushpiloting As it should be, but unfortunately it's not always like that.

Top Instructor!
So complex , you would think that the manufacturer would simplify a lot of things
I wish can fly an airplane so I use to monitor wildlife from above
“Hold your hand completely still” it’s a little more than that 😅 if the trick to hovering was “do nothing” anyone could do it
...from friction. LOL!
30 seconds in and it’s already too much for my mortal brain.
Blimey it’s soooo complicated!,
Lol Airsuss
