NBC and this channel have always been the nicest ones towards this fandom. Pittsburgh especially is extremely nice! I feel like everyone in Pittsburgh is so used to waking up one July morning and seeing fluffy or scaly animals walking down the street. They’re probably like, “Well it’s that time of the year again!”
It was getting honestly really good before the zoosadist leaks happened and people had more fodder to blame the fandom for it as a whole. The news reports for a few years before that were fairly decent.
love the idea of the pizzeria turning into a furry themed cafe for the weekend! as for the community, haters always love to point out the bad apples (or just hate for no reason), ignoring the great majority that is good and its always nice to see more positive and supportive views like this! the community has some of the most talented and skilled and creative people especially when it comes to fantasy and art, the fursuits are a great example of it! (being the wearers own character - most of the time - turned into a handmade wearable piece of art)
On the last day they give you a free slice as long as you still have your con badge. Awsome place, awsome city, awsome convention, awsome community. I cant wait to go next year!
I don’t think I can recall Indiana media talking about furries. I think the only con we have is in indi, but I heard Fort Wayne’s Sakura festival has a handful of fursuiters that attend.
The furry community is a beautiful community full of people who want to inspire, sing & or dance, enjoy life, laugh, play, having fun, do fun videos, teach lessons, make money or spend it or raise money for charities, make art, tell stories, build relationships platonically or romantically, and to help those that are in a bad place physically and or mentally to do better, & to work cool jobs/livelihoods! Also they work great for if u know that person very well if u can’t hire a professional to dress up as a fictional character for kids day at stores like Lowe’s or Walmart or Barnes & Noble‘s to walk around or even spin a sign saying come on in people don’t be shy 35% off on TVs, beds sets, clothes, shoes, or buy 2 get 1 free large pizzas and a free 2 liter bottle soda drink ur choice! They will go respectfully nuts like u just gave the kid a candy bowl & said go have fun!
Im extremely excited to participate in Anthrocon within these few coming years! I have lived in pennsylvania my whole life and I’ve always wanted to go to a con but have never been able to. So these next few years you might see me here with some buddies in costume ^w^
BTW: In my Country (Germany) the Furry-Fandom had very bad Image over the Years. Luckely, we have such wonderfull Content on TH-cam, to tell the People the Thruth.
Pittsburgh has loved the event and the furry community ever since they actively sought out the Con Chairman to have him bring the event to their city back in 2006. They've been so welcoming and supportive that AC says they want to stay in Pittsburgh forever, and Pittsburgh says they want AC to stay in their city forever.
Sadly, that is a terrible idea. As fun as it may sound in concept, in practice it would be a different story entirely. Just look at how bad things already are with people trying to breed cats a specific way to make them cuter, only for most of them to end up with terrible and painful abnormalities, and most of which going unadopted as a result. And that's actual cats. Imagine Humanoids with animal traits. Even if you somehow prevent any disfigurements or abnormalities,... how will people at large greet them? We've already seen historical examples of how people are treated for simply being different color,... just wait until they claim "Human rights do not apply, because they are not Human" Perhaps one day it could happen,... but dear god, not any time soon. Not until Humanity at large finally grows the hell up.

That's because this network has clearly gotten to know furries rather than simply jumping to delusional conclusions.

If i was restaurant owner. I would do the same thing too. Furries make bank and are fine with spending hundreds of dollars.
