As I know, because of the war between China and India, sadly, some areas close to China are still declared as land of China by Chinese government. If you come from rhose ereas, the good thing is, you dont need visa to travel or live in China. This is history problem, anyway, as a Chinese, I wish pease between theae two large countries.

@@packy_v Everything is good and fine. We are not Chinese nor like other indian. We are nagas scattered in different neighboring states in North East India. Our origin is not known to us, since we comprises of many tribes, we have so many origin story which sounds more like a myth. We also belief that some of us migrated from China and directly settled in our present land.😊

Poppy is amongst the reasons I watch TH-cam travel accounts. You never step away feeling down after viewing her content. I am also aware how insanely hard she works to make it all look like it all just turns out this way. i visited Lijiang one month ago, and plan to visit there again next month.
We visited there several years ago, and loved it. Wish to visit again sometime and spend a couple of weeks with friends or family in Lijiang.
So beautiful! It has a more classic Chinese feel to it than what I saw in Beijing an Shanghai.

I love the old town of Lijiang and the every motel in town is very unique. However, the town becomes so commercial you can find similar shops around China.
It's true you can find similar shops around China but the overall vibe and cuteness of these streets is what drew us in ha

I went to Lijiang on my company annual trip a few years back. They do have a tram that takes you up to almost 30,000 feet above sea level too. The old town was quite charming but I think it has grown quite a bit since then-don’t recall it was that crowded.

Been there, very memorable. There are history of local tribes inscribed or painted on some walls @8:52. Weather is pleasant year-round. It is near Burma and thus have several Burmese jade stores.

Shopping and Lijiang go together! Before virus times 😞. Yesterday my wife and I were talking about Lijiang, Shaxi and Dali and possibly retiring in this area. NatGeo would be more interested in animal cruelty and factory pollutions in China. Basically, anything that defames China is welcomed and can be used to show ignorant Westerners who know little about China how bad China is in order to cause hatred towards this great nation.

Yes, went there a couple of years ago and it really is beautiful. It has become more commercialized over the last ten years and gets hundreds of thousands of tourists, mostly Chinese, but it has retained its historic elegance and architecturally it's really stunning. Well worth a visit that is for sure.....

Lijiang is my hometown.It is really a beautiful place.
I've traveled Lijiang this summer with my family and it was one of the most beautiful old cities I've ever visited! Some say that Lijiang is too touristic, but I even loved that part as a tourist lol And the weather there is just perfect! Yunnan province doesn't get too cold or hot, so I think it is really nice to travel in summer or winter

These are amazing documents you are producing. It helps one see the real China, minus all the politics between our two countries.The present town you're in has a lovely patina of antiquity and yet somehow contemporary at the same time. One can really feel the human spirit as you stroll through the street. The one scene where you are ascending up the street at night with the lighted eaves of the buildings on either side was marvelously shot. These quaint out of the way places are the ones I would wish to visit were I to be fortunate enough to tour China. You seem to have found your way to most, if not all of them. Thank you for sharing your experiences. It's been real! Good.

It should not cost a bomb but you will have to embrace all things CHINA n Chinese to be happy.
It is a good idea to travel then decide to retire where you like but I believe if you can afford, keep traveling n revisit if you like.
it takes a special personality to travel the way you do! Going into these places without being fluent with the language and still have fun! Very jealous!
