Celica Swap turns Commuter Conquest into 300kW, 4wd Speed Sleeper

- The Toyota Conquest was a South African favourite during the '90s, selling thousands of them every month to mobilise the average car buyer.
But what if you wanted to see just how fast you could make it go? Boris wanted to find out just that. A fan of Fast and the Furious and JDM cars from the 90s, he wanted to see what would happen if he engine-swapped an old Conquest and made it 4wd too.
Watch as he runs through some of the additions he has made as well as what unlikely part has proved to be particularly unreliable.

Reliving your childhood through a car is so cool. I love the car it's properly build it's a proper labour of love I hope you still play the racing games. I personally own my dream car a golf CTI use to watch them drive around around. Big ups

That was the most annoying thing about owning a clean 'Quest; everyone wanting to buy it from you everywhere you go. It was funny in the beginning but I don't miss it at all. Lol. But you built the car I was on the way to building. First had 2E-TE turbo, then swopped to 4AGE 20v Blacktop and was planning on dropping the Celica drivetrain with 1J or 3SGTE. You did well! I love it

Its safer to just buy it. Less chance of something going wrong, and if something does go wrong... you can get the dealer to fix it. And lets not talk about insuring a factory spec car vs a home modified car.

Yes I watch the video 5 times. I can only locate the FWD gearbox and 1st gen of the 3sgte.
I was thinking a ae70/80 RWD drive train but want all wheel drive
The engine importers do bring it in. I broke a box and got one from Japan imports
I'll give them a go. My 3de option was a 1st gen RAv4 which can be found in SA. Add a dual beams motor but the e250f gearbox final drive is a little high.

Probably none
The original engine was the most reliable in the world
And the 3sgte was almost as reliable except for the turbo
But hes changed that to a way more reliable one

Got to fix your display fuel definitely not spelt "Feul" ... And I disagree on the RS3 point as a child of the 80s I couldn't afford the Audi RS2 and when I could afford a car I got the RS3 and it's got a pretty insane motor I think they "disappear" because they become collectable and folks rather garage the cars than drive , that could also be down to scarcity of parts or just keep the miles low for the future. That's my 2 cents
Hey, so it's not the actual fuel gauge. It's the ethanol content in the fuel (percentage) so instead of reading fuel we read it as FE(for ethanol)ul.
And the audi thing is just my opinion 😊
@@boostedboristheblade ah ok didn't think to look at table of elements for the ethanol aspect haha pretty clever. Yeah all entitled to our opinions right :) I have a 700kw RS3 which I tend to daily but yeah I am one of the exceptions to the rule.

It's a conquest with facelift tazz lights, fenders and grill. People did it a lot in the early 2000's.

This is a typical bloke that luvs his car to much that he is willing to overhype it i doubt that he has chopped half the cars he talks about 1.6bar 23psi and only producing 400hp good power for a hatchback alotta money for little reward
same boost as the new Honda type r and it only makes 235kw and the Mercedes A45 AMG makes 265kw on 1.8 bar boost this is very decent for 1.6bar
300kw on the wheels in a light weight car.... equivalent to 378kw if you thinking flywheel figures (like most stock cars)
