    I've been happily surprised with Flyfish and their superior price to quality ratio.

    Hey Chris! I have a question for you: What's your reasoning for measuring Kv by running the motor and measuring RPM? Don't you think the accuracy of your testing could be improved by instead driving the motor at a known RPM and measuring the back EMF voltage? Running the motor electrically and measuring RPM is prone to error through losses in bearing friction, aerodynamic drag, etc, whereas driving at a known speed eliminates those variables. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @wack1305
      @wack1305 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Personally I think of those variables you mentioned as part of what gives the motor is Kv. Measuring its theoretical Kv is less useful

      he should run it in an vakuum chamber 😅

    • @Johnny31297

      @@cwimm95i That would not eliminate bearing drag.

    Should do one of these specifically on racing motors. Curious of the effect of setting a motor output limit so the KV is ultimately the same across the board as to how motors compare.

    interesting, have you considered measuring if there is a temperature difference with the different motors?maybe something like runnign the motors as a medium speed for 5 minuts and see if theres a difference in temperature. not sure if tit would affect the motors, but would be interesting to see.but tbh i probably will stick with 2207 motors from now on.

    A lot of new motors have been found to come with scew drilled shafts. Could you in future, check this out on all motors received. I have a number of sets of motors received in the last 2 years and all of them are not drilled straight causing the bell screw to wobble and unbalancing the motors. Manufactures and motors that I have the issue with was iFlight Xing 2208, Xing2 2306, Xing 2 2207, T-Motor Veloce 2208, Tmotor - Velox 2207, T-Motor F60 V. All of them have screw drilled shafts. Makes me think all shafts come out the same factory? I verified the issue by measuring with my veneer measuring inside hold to outside on 4 points all 90 degree apart. One side was clearly narrower than the adjacent 180 degree point.

    I fly 6s on 4s motors with a throttle limit of 66 for 6s and changes automatically when I plug the battery in from profiles 1 & 2

    Why not try and build taller motors for drones? More like car and plane motor length/width ratios… would a 1820 motor size or something like that have less losses from the edge effect?

    • @combinacijus
      @combinacijus 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tall motors have worse cooling than same volume (power) wide motor. That's probably the main reason

    Do you have any suggestions of like what the best budget motor under $15 is for a 5 inch? Or maybe you have a video on this? I've been flying readytosky but looking for something a bit better, but nothing really seems to outperform those motors for the $? I haven't found many channels covering something like this. I know you tested emax as a baseline for one of your videos, is there anything that beats that?

    I want to get the sword 1850kv instead of the velox because of the greater efficiency and power, but in my place in the summer the temperatures exceed 40. Do you have data on temperatures? A comparison with velox or others from that point of view? Flyfish does not share data

    Are you going to review smaller motors anytime soon? I currently fly my beta95x with 1105 5000kv motors and I would like more torque and efficiency. I know popular choice is 1404 3800kv motors but T-Motor makes 1604 3800kv for 3.5" freestyle. I would love to know if the torque/weight ratio of 1604 is better than 1404!

    • @chrisbee5481
      @chrisbee5481 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 95x is a light frame. 1404 too big. 1204 or 1303.5 are a better choice. If you want efficiency you need bigger props. So whole new quad

    BTW, stating that at 9:15 that 6S has an efficiency advantage over 4S is higly dubious. at very high throttle level - yes. but you have to remember, that proper pair of 6S vs 4S motors are 1800kv vs 2700kv. and not 1950kv vs 2550kv. proper pair will have the same performance, while there will be a bit higher current losses on 4S.
