    Thank you for doing this review Peter. I'm considering an ebike. Your review will help me make up my mind.Dost is much more affordable than anything from R&M, and I like the motor power and the more reasonably priced additional battery.

    Why did you not buy one with the carbon belt drive and CVT rear hub, I’m interested in hearing your views on your selection of options without these two that I mentioned.

      The CVT option was not in production yet. My bike is over a year old it is amazing and the service outstanding

    PETER. Outstanding review really appreciate you providing an excellent perspective , my question what is the distance
    that you can ride with the dual battery set up on throttle alone , I reside in Florida everything is totally flat

      70 miles they say 180km using the assist level 1-5

      On assist they say with the optional battery 180km or 100 miles with throttle only i feel 60 miles or more:) get the extra battery its worth it

      110 miles of distance. I usually ride 55 km or 40 miles per ride so lots of battery

    just bought dost KOPE. Got it home and fender in front plastic broke on one side. Where to get front fender, and where to get user manual

    I’m looking for an ebike that will take me to the store or get me started on a lengthy trail, and I’ve had my eye on this one. What is it like to ride on multi-use trails, where you have some rocks and roots that are partially (or significantly) exposed? The info I’ve seen typically just references gravel paths or bumpy, grassy park areas.

      It’s fantastic on trails not for mountain biking over rocks you need more aggressive tires

      @@2NDFLB-CLERK no not in the snow I would recommend studded tires. Check with Dost the manufacturer of this bike. Their customer service is amazing. The display is waterproof:)

      The tires are awesome however you can upgrade to the Jonny watts HS 604 27.5 X 2.3 tire it has high puncture resistance amazing tire

    Thanks for this honest user review. I'm wondering why the range is showing just 32km on a 69% battery level....
    Given that you've got dual batteries installed and on 100% battery range is advertised to be 180km.
    I need an e-bike for 150km round trip with 30km safety net this one seems perfect. However, the range showing here is not matching the advertised estimate.

    Peter, do you think at 5 ft 8 32in inseam I would be okay with the same setup you have including suspension seat? Some people say yes some people saying no

    hi can you explain the shifting gears. i dont understand what to do with the 2 gear things that i can push down

      Good morning you need to try see the gear display it shows the gear number, works great.

    Does the speed really go up to 28 mph for both pedal assist and throttle? Just curious

    Peter, Thanks for the review. I'm going to order one but I'm trying to decide between the Kope and the Drop. I'm 5'8' with an inseam of 30" , do you think that will work with the Kope?

      Both will work, I like the gate belt instead of the chain for ease of maintenance, you will love the bike and get the extra battery

      @@johnschuetz6331 That is correct. The belt drive will be available in 2023 but can be ordered now according to the website.

    Hi Peter, thank you for the honest review. Very nice ride and I am seriously thinking of getting one in the next two weeks. I do have a question for you. How is the motor noise on this bike? And what is the name of the security system you use. Does it also have a tracker? And did you get insurance? And the hanging compartment on the top bar...is that where you put your chain? Thank you again.

      Motor noise is fine they all have a little wining noise. The security system type bike security systems on amazon you will see. The tracker I use is a apple tag. No I did not get extra insurance. I do not use the bag for the chain but you could.

    How easy/hard is it to bike uphill with and without assist? There are many hills here in BC. It rains much here, are the battery and other electronic display etc water resistant ?

      I live in Ontario my area has hills to bike without any assist is difficult the bike with two batteries weighs 75lbs. I uses assist 2 out of 5. The bike has 120nm of torque that's lots of assist.
      Rain is no issue the bike electronics are water resistant

    When in Pedal assist mode can you use the throttle?

      Yes you can use the throttle in the mode

      Can you change the settings to make the throttle only 25mph ??
      I'm about to grab one of these... but the only thing that really bothers me about it is throttle only gets to 20.[?]
      I'm lookin at it like
      If I'm paying 3-4 grand for one of these, it better get up to 25 on it's own.

      I bought on Amazon look at bike alarms. You will have a remote and a light alarm device. the battery on the unit lasts 60days then charge up

      I bought a little 15 dollar mirror before I had the bike, and it doesn't fit. So I'm going to find someone to give it to, and just order one I know will fit.

    how does the bike ride with the system totally off. meaning youre pushing the 75lbs bike. i have one ordered and really curious on how it feels

      It rides like a regular bike on flat roads. As you come into hills there is a little resistance so will need to true motor on to level one. There is lots of battery on this bike

      There is resistance when the motor is off. I also have a Specialized como E bike that cost me 7K Canadian $ this is very high quality bike with a gate belt instead of chain but has a torque sensor so whatever you give the bike gives you 4X more output. The the motor is off its like riding a regular bike no resistance

      Guess "who"? After almost long 11 months of waiting to get here in Romania where I live my beloved Kope it got finally "between my legs" Literally. Impressions; Well, all I can say is WOW. To climb a 300 meters high hill on a 2 miles stretch with literally No Sweat...Now That's What I Call a Bike. I am in Cloud 9. Long wait=Worth every second.

      I am 6 ft tall the Kope was stock so I bought that one the drop is a smaller frame size

      New versions of the Dost and kope are available now,, 4,000 bucks.
      I'm tempted to call and ask if I can upgrade my order... but idk if I should do that. .maybe it would be wiser to wait and see the first few waves of consumer responses anyway... but the new models do look nYce... idk if I'd say they're worth NiNe HunDreD clams thou.

      Your comment made me want to see if I could upgrade my order [which would've been inquired through a phone call tomorrow] ,
      HOWEVER , on their website I just saw that they're not shipping them out until spring 2022.
      So, I'm gonna have to decline for now, and stick with the kope order .
      If I had something to hold me over, I might wait it out,,, but I don't, so I hope I get my kope-Mobile as fast as you got yours [I remember seeing your comments saying you got yours quite fast - it was in stock]...
      I'm in Alaska,,, hopefully that won't slow it down too too much.

    dost in german means what?? the information ist just on par with the competition these days. here are some facts I was looking for: lots of light, "I love it" "the front, the extension post-a must"

    "very, very safe" the cable routing, "so nice, I love it" looks atrocious, even more so on the white bike. No extra efforts there. It is only $4000 bucks, what do you expect? blahhblah I can not take these sales brochure "descriptions" any more. The thing is, that's all you get these days. Point: how to set the real tire circumference in the computer? ....I am just ranting. Never mind, just buy it. who cares
