Very interesting! I am Ugandan and I can hear most of the local dialect in the background, Iwe for you, abaana ,children, bakulu, old people, I am experiencing the Bantu connection. Your friend was very confident and eloquent. thumbs up.
About the edible clay, you can find edible clay in Germany as well, sold in drugstores and pharmacies. It's called Heilerde (medicinal clay) and is recommended for digestive health. Not sure if it actually does anything, but yeah, it's definitely a thing outside of Zambia as well lol
26:27 Zambia has a free market type of economy which means anyone can set up a business even on the side of the road without really being bothered by the authorities so most everyday persons will go out on the street to sell rather than rent a shop which is far too expensive. I wish you had a tour guide who could properly answer your questions! That Diana girl seemed super distracted and half listening to you. Stop picking up girls to flirt with and be your tour guide Phil if you want proper info!!! 😅😅 You're much too charming for it to be a serious tour 💀
Hey Phil, it was good to meet up with you on the Zambia Border, that was a crazy night trying to get the paperwork done. I was there with my colleague trying to cross and get our truck through. Good luck on your travels, if you get back to the UK and passing through Kent or London let me know 👍
Hey dude 😁 great to see you here! Yeah it was a long couple of days, I’m glad I’m in Lusaka going to chill here for a few more days then head to Vic falls. I’ll for sure give you a shout next time I’m in the area.

Hiya👋🏽My Friend, I'm so glad to see you back and well. Great content and a lovely companion showing you the market. I've noticed how graceful the women are, especially when they walk. Safe travel! Bebe in Arizona🧘🏽♀❤🌵
The Market is busy. Last time I came here 13 years ago I would rush through. I loved coming here to buy here buy bulk groceries. Like fish, kenta, beans Etc
Thank you for the video. I visited a little section of the market where they sell clothes. I think our people live by God’s grace to be trading in much of that fifth market. The new government has a great task to build a cleaner market for the people although they just need for now clean up the market. I hope this market can be clean like Chongwe market
Motorbikes are called motorbikes motorcycles in Zambia, they dont have local names like bodaboda in Uganda, or okada as they are known in Nigeria...Mini buses are minibuses no local names like matatu as they are called in Kenya
All I know about the new Soweto market is that it was part of an expansion plan to get most traders off the streets and into official marketplaces. But we still have many traders on the streets because the population keeps growing.
It's because they don't want to trade inside. Rwanda is one of the few African nations that has successfully managed to get street traders off the street due to diligent, tough, no nonsense supervision.
What you just ate is a special kind of soil which pregnant women eat. Especially when they have are iron deficient. They need to take iron tablet and iron rich foods not that soil.

I am curious as to the name Soweto. Is it named after Soweto, the township I'm SA, or does it mean something completely different?
Good Q I wondered the same
Yes it was named after SOWETO in South Africa.
