I got this bootleg in 2021 during the Snyder cut craze along with the 2 cavill superman figures McFarlane came out with at the time. I was happy enough to get this bootleg cause he looks like a nice figure even for a bootleg. I also got a flight stand to go with it and it really elevates the figure for me. I’ve had it in my display cabinet ever since and I’ve been happy as is with it. I will admit that I am more of a Cavill person myself so my favourite superman is actually the McFarlane red and blue Cavill figure.
There are so many bootleg figures that are great figures. I always want the real but I totally understand when a action figure is worth $100 and you can get the ko for $15. One of my favorite toys is a bootleg because neca never came out with it lol. Its a amazing deadpool action figure that I think is better than all the real ones.
I have a bootleg sentinal Peter B Parker, my friend has the real one and they are almost identical, I only have 1 headsculpt out of 4 that have bad painted eyes, they really are good quility
i hope NECA re-release this line....we got a lot of those KOs here in the Philippines years ago... the Headsculpt or face is Narrower than the original and some have bad eye paint and joints easily breaks....
I would think with the way they are rereleasing things that they would but it also comes down to the license. If they still have it they will but if not then no chance.
Thanks for the video mate, you saved me some money! Just showed the Christopher Reeve movies to my 4 year old son, now he is nuts about Superman! Was going to buy this figure for him on Aliexpress for Xmas but what's the point if it's going to break straight away. Really surprised there are few options for Reeve Superman figures. An original Neca would be too expensive and apparently is also prone to breakage. The Mezco version is also way too expensive. I guess my best bet would be to buy a McFarland with the classic Superman colours and buy a customised Reeves head scupt althought the price of some of those head sculps are equivalent to buying another figure! How come McFarland hasn't made a Reeves inspired Superman yet?
@@markshadows3667 Yes very exciting! I'm in Australia so I am waiting for it to be on pre-order with the big online retailers here. Looks like it's been a hit in the States already with many retailers having it sold out already. Did you get a pre-order?
Hi, thinking of getting this too as like you've said the original is £200 can i ask is the upper torso made of plastic or rubber like the original and would the figure work better if maybe i heated it up? Kind regards Ste 🇬🇧
Great review but on the original Superman figure the paint us chipping off on nine and it feeks fragile like it might break in ne too so I dont touch it either and ny figure isn't a knock off The plastic they used on both the original and knock offs are very brittle
@@TheCollectionDimension nope the original neca figures easily broke as well It is why I did not buy Neca figures for a very long time. I was watching a video of a guy reviewing the Batman Nneka, the Adam West version, and in the middle. The review the action figures leg broke right off. I feel so bad for the guy. And as much flack that people give Hasbro marvel legends and the Mattel, DCUC action figures I have yet, after 20 years collecting those figures break on me. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that that will never happen. I’m just saying, as of yet I haven’t had one break on me which is why I will always continue collecting marvel, legends figures
That is some bs that the real ones even break smh. I would of thought they were way better but it seems like everyone is commenting the same thing about the real ones. And the waste doesnt move on the real one either right?
The real ones are molded/shaped better with better paint, but the first retail run has air pockets in all the plastic so the hard ABS plastic was extremely fragile. I don't remember if the waist swivels but I don't believe they do. NECA did do a fixed second run to basically replace all the broken ones from the first batch. Both Superman and Batman had the problem, I think some Jokers do and they all came with tacky paint. @@TheCollectionDimension

I totally understand people want the real figure. I have the bootleg like you have. I appreciate having at least a version of Christopher Reeve. 😊

alot of these bootlegs are worth the money. sometimes there is hardly even a quality difference

Looks like you got lucky because the McFarlane one is coming out!

I have the same k.o i knew something didnt feel right when I tried to play with the legs.
I hate hearing that and Ive also seen this one and the Batman at Cons before that were fake.
Hi is it a fake if the box doesn’t have the yellow dc mark in the top left corner
It's a snap-on model kit and Neca just forgot to advertise it that way, a lot of glue required. LOL!!
Im still trying to find the original at a decent price. I want to do a fake vs real but the real is pretty expensive not. Same with the batman one.
Does the head come off, i was wondering if i could put the head on a McFarlane figure?
He's got a slight ab crunch under the rubber of the torso
I want to get my hands on the real one just can't find for a decent price.

That is horrible. I would of thought the original would of been way better. People seemed to like the 1989 batman and 66 batman better than this one.

Have 3 of the real ones and they all broke the same way
