Actually to clarify private river ownership on the East Branch as discussed at the 50 minute mark......each angler can make their own determination but a few facts. 1) those signs are not authorized or endorsed by the DEC and they have publicly stated so. 2) If you read Beau Beasley's article in Fly Fisherman magazine (FYI - I was Beau's tour guide and drove him to these signs to assist in his research) the District attorney is on record as stating nobody has ever been prosecuted in Delaware County for wading on any river bottom 3) One of the property owners where those signs are posted actually changed his own deed. When he originally bought the property it stated he only owns to the edge of the river......he then changed his own deed to state he owns to the middle of the river.

Thank you, Tom. This is a wonderful video. I learned to fly fish in the Catskills, and your travelogue brings back a torrent of wonderful memories. My first trout was caught on the Schoharie, which invites a question. I hear that the trout areas of the Schoharie warm up quickly in the summer and become less and less fishable after June. Is this true, or simply a clever stratagem used by locals to keep the crowds away?
