I'm almost convinced that intelligent life is a weird phenomena that starts only on very few planets like Earth in the universe because of a series of extremely improbable coincidences. But it will also be a fleeting one as soon enough all life will become extinct because of an asteroid or comet attack or any other extinction level event. Perhaps, several million years later, life will again evolve somewhere only to be wiped out again. This has probably happened many times in the past and will again happen in the future.

@@viksam009 Well actually, the Bible foretells an asteroid which will kill one third of life. It tells of multiple different side effects and multiple different views of the same event told several different ways. It begins in Revelation chapter 8 and goes to the beginning of chapter 9. Here are just a few verses from it: "...something like a huge mountain, entirely ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water- the name of the star is Wormwood. a A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter. The short lived Ultraverse line of comics published by Malibu Comics in the nineties, had an Alderson Disk called The Godwheel as one of its settings. Marvel Comics bought Malibu in the late '90s and basically dismantled it. The characters and settings are still presumably owned by Marvel/Disney, but they haven't done anything with then in more than two decades and I doubt they are going to ever use them again.

Trump has ripped down and rebuilt about 100 miles of wall after billions spent and years. As of writing this Sept 5th 2020, there's 5 miles of wall where there wasn't before. If he wins election, there's plans for about 400 miles (out of a couple thousand). Very little of it would be where there was no wall before.

@@hay0099 Just go in the middle always. Because there are two conflicting scenarios that meet. That all are literally useless, but also, all are simply made to have purposes. For those who truely understands, are continuing to find solutions to even bigger problems than this. Including with those are the two common reactions or make it three, that some will automatically seek happiness, while others will do things to maximize their lives, others will solve it, etc, so on. And we dont call them lazy, we call them sleepers, puzzle pieces that are somehow waiting to be put in together with other pieces.

And if some says, "I have a better life than you and you will never be like me", then let them be... and let us just sit back and continue to solve the problems of this world, the right way.

All of the habitability "cons" for an Alderson Disk could be solved by building a Ringworld instead. You build it the diameter of the AVERAGE of Earths orbit, at about the orbit of Venus you would install a ring of "shadow squares" to simulate a day-night cycle. You would spin it (if I remember correctly at 770 meters per second) to give the simulation of 1G of gravity, with high walls along the rims to keep in the atmosphere. Yes, I AM a fan of the Larry Niven Ringworld series!

On earth, everybody's feet point towards the centre of mass (AKA centre of gravity) of the earth. The centre of mass of a disk is at the centre of the disk, so everybody on such a structure would be sliding towards the hole in the middle.
