They show the most positive outlook on life that is sadly unrealistic. Terrorism, political disputes, lack of action from the general population, power and economic struggles between groups, etc, which are parts of the human race since the beginning of civilization, will always impede the growth of our species. I'm not even going to take into account the probable rise of some lethal pathogen or other natural and/or man-made disaster/dilemma as it would require including more factors in this already ugly-long post which makes things more complex and despairing.

Extinct nah, we are resilient bugs... some will inevitably survive beyond next challenges of mid 21st century and after.
But how many and how, that’s a different story.
We probably live a climax of civilisation actually, and there should be a collaps due to overpopulation and climate pressures (driving to wars instability etc).
The problem is not really a “all or nothing” for me.
It’s all we are about to lose at the end of the present climax (quality of live, knowledge, technologies, freedoms, stabilities, opportunities, etc).
But globally we should survive, even if that estimation is close of an incoming truth, there will never be total extinction (except black holes or stuffs like that, beyond our control).
But still, there are things to feel concerned about... definitely ! (And not really for us, more for our children and grand children)
But that’s it, there are few chances we manage to escape the next collapse around 2040-2070 (roughly).
Our « sweet anarchy » societies and our short term sights/management prevent us to have a decent chance to manage the challenges to come, so... let’s be fatalistic !
Anyway,
we are so few things individually, we will (or our children more probably) do what we/they can. 😔
but it doesn’t smell good imho, definitely...

After watching this, I thought of the dilemma between reality and dream.
First one is that, yeah our generation would never make it up to that point so we don't need to worry or even think about it.
Second one is that, if ever we make up to that point of time then I'd like to see how humanity would do.
But then again it's just a probability, meaning it's not entirely true to this point.
It's better that you and I leave a better legacy for others to come.
