Hey, my 97 Tahoe is running very rich. Changed out plugs, wires. Now running better but still rough vibration and running rich? What to replace next. 249,000 miles
I ordered the ac delco tps from Amazon and I’m still shifting weird thru first it’s only sometimes though. The part looks cheap super cheap actually and has a white sticker no actual part number should I return it and buy one at the dealership
Yes, you should probably return it and purchase one from a GM dealer if you want a bonafide AC Delco/Genuine GM part because of the potential of counterfeit parts in the supply chain (chinesium). I stongly suggest that whatever you consider purchasing from Amazon to read EVERY review, starting from the lowest/worst experience to the best experience, because used/altered/counterfeit parts have and still are being sold on Amazon.
I had battery out of pickup (5.3LM7) for a while to redo some bad power cables. Now I notice if I am half throttle or more the engine acts like it shuts off right after shifting. I let off the throttle when this happens an everything is fine. Do you think this is a TPS issue caused by having the battery disconnected? If so, is there a relearn procedure?
What would cause my 5.3 Silverado have a hard start it will crank and crank them farther up but an idle rough then Smooths out but from a cold start at far as right up
Hey, can you do a video on a distributor replacement and setting cmp retard on your Tahoe? I have a 1999 suburban that I’ve been trying to get the cmp retard dialed in on and no matter where I adjust the distributor to, my scanner reads -45. I’ve adjusted this distributor 30 times at least and I get the exact same results.
According to Eric O at SouthMainAuto, after your engine reaches operating temperature, you must first rev your engine to 1000 rpm or as close as you ca😢n. Then look at the CMP Retard value, this is your true CMP retard value. After turning off the engine and loosening the distributor hold down, then turn the distributor counter-clockwise to advance it and clockwise to retard the timing. And verify the CMP retard at 1000 rpm after letting the engine reach operating temperature.
I like that he explained everything so ppl that have no clue don't mess up

Thanks for this video. My 1999 GMC YUKON is running like new. Thought it was the gearbox but it was the TPS.
Good videos. I’m especially interested in anything you show on the 99 Tahoe as I got a 2000 z71 old body style.
Nice! I love those. That, the unlimited and the police package were the only ones made that year if I remember correctly?
Great tutorial, one the best / Thank You , very informative

The relearn procedure is turn key in the on position engine off then unplug the tps for 30 seconds turn key off then plug tps back in
Sooo what about the relearn procedure????
is there on for a 1998 gmc k1500 5.0 L auto ?
