The cool factor dies off really fast after you carry it the first couple miles. 5.56 is a very efficient and lightweight cartridge and very few situations warrant the extra power of the 308 (which is wasted at close to medium range due to overpenetration).
Yeah but shooting a semi auto rifle in .308 is a different experience than 5.56. Don't get me wrong I love my 5.56 rifles, it's just something about shooting the .308 in semi auto that makes you feel like a man. You feel that power.
if only you could do that in California, man I don't know WHY these people are complaining in other states, just pay the damn $200 jesus we can't even get em here no matter what.
Realistically most people just home build illegal silencers. BATFE only has been trying to make the paper work easier to convince people to register because at this point in time most people are just saying F you to the illegal restrictions.
I find it strange that there are so little suppressors with similar technology. At least that I know of. There is one made in Finland and also in Shot Show, but no one seems to be doing booth review of them, Saimaa Still. I have one of their AK cans and it's pretty awesome. I haven't measured or really compared sound level to others side by side, but suppression level is pretty good and lack of back pressure is really excellent improvement. I will be changing my AR 5.56 can to one of theirs soon.
I had an idea for a suppressor with baffles made out of a sturdy steel mesh filled with light weight aluminum beads What are your thoughts on its potential as a viable design? My theory is that the beads will mimic a silencer filled with water, a technique used by some users to eliminate first round pop.
Vickers may you answer me and telling me where I can find their OSS BANNAR CHARLIE 1 Muzzle Brake? Noone is selling it and OSS itself does not respond to my contactmails. I would be nice of you. Best Regards, Jan
TheGoldenCaulk The people who use them for a living don't care about that. You aren't wrong, but it's purpose is too kill, not too look good. It has different shades because the desert has different shades as well when you're there killing hadjis!!
I don't know why 308 - 7.62x51 chambered rifles makes me fall in love with them.
I'm the same way man.

If you want knock down energy without the weight of the 7.62x51 , you need to use the 6.8x45 SPC. Same weight as 556, but more than double the power.

Larry did you get a chanse to try out an OSS can yet? If so what are your impressions?
Looks like everyone's getting ready for the Hearing Protection Act.
darkspire91 hopefully we'll get it done, it's weird how restricted suppressor are here.
HPA bill not a priority at this time and will probably die, Just file your paper work and pay the tax stamp.

I love the not having to adjust the gas. Come on Hearing Protection Act!!

These guys are next level in suppressors sounds like there is new bar
Big6Duke The new bar is a silencer that reduces half as much noise and weighs 3 times as much?
Cool stuff. your a legend Mr Vickers!
Zach Conant You're
I'm missing the beard Larry :c

Another gun with 3+ colors of FDE that cant manage to even remotely match. Looking at you, SCAR.
Rob White it's just a mock up gun. Didn't you hear?
Rob White Who cares what it looks like. Its a tool. Not a toy!
If my tools were all 4 shades of red, I'd be a bit annoyed too. Colour matching isn't hard, stop making excuses for these million dollar companies.

I think it looks cool.
Nice!
