I really want Gan to make a sq1
Yeah, I will be really hyped for that release. I think that Gan might just make the best sq1.

every top skewbers are maining gan so i think top squanners will also main gan if its better than mgc. It might create a hype around it and cause other people to buy it

I'm not really worried about GAN dying. They seem to have a good marketing team, sponsor many top cuber, release limited edition cubes and are making other WCA and none WCA puzzles, mosaic sets etc. They still have a lot of fans in the cubing community and it's not realistic to release a new revolutionary invention every year. MoYu for example is flooding the market with many new cubes who have the exact same adjustment system as their older cubes.
Yeah, to be fair GAN have a great marketing team who will be able to make the smallest changes seem really exiting.

I am going to assume that GAN will join in the ball core party with the Gan 14, seen as the Tornado V3 and basically every Moyu release this year have ball cores, and keep the Auto Turn feature in the 12 and 13. They will also throw in a new feature as all their cubes have a new gimmick that soon every other brand add into there cubes (examples are magnets from the UM, Honeycomb on the pieces from the SM, adjustable magnets and a number system in the X, and core magnets in the 11) what the gimmick will be is currently unknown.

They failed badly. Repelling edge magnets aren't good, that's why the weilong v9 se is better.

The ball core and the magnets positioned anywhere in a full 360-degree sphere make the cubes insanely more stable.
Look at the QiYI (Xman designs) Hong 5x5 with ballcore. It is one of the best cubes around today. It's 3x3 stage feels better than some actual 3x3's.
I recently went to Wiltshire summer 2023 and there i tried the gan 12 and 13 after that j realised that the only difference was that 13 was just a bit smoother and faster which i can achieve on the 12 with lubrication as well so in my opinion many other cubes in the market like the wrm 2021 as you said. Overall i would most likely don't choose gan in the future if they kept doing like this and only increasing the price.
Yeah, I agree. The prices do keep increasing and like you said, this could cause many people like yourself to stop buying GAN cubes.
I agree and disagree about the 12 and the 13 feeling the same. I own both cubes. And they feel very different even after setup. Both have angstrom setups, both are quite tight but I can always tell which is which

I really want gan to come up with something revolutionary and reclaim their throne but I have a feeling like they will just become less and less relevant... also gan 13 doesn't have a spring version lol

If Moyu or QiYi made thier cubes 56mm instead of the 54 and a bit mm that they are, they would be that much better than GAN that GAN would never be able to compete with them.
Being 56mm is the only thing GAN do better than Moyu.

Hey, I'm going to a comp this weekend, its suffolk summer 2023. I tried a cube at the stand there and the GAN was a great cube. There was like a cube (unsure what it was) that was SO fast omg (not gan btw
Yeah so whilst GAN is good, you still care more about the other cubes. What does that say about the trajectory of GAN? How did the comp go as well!?!
@@UK_Cuber Alright. I got the cube btw (ys3m ball core maglev) and got to 2x2 finals 3x3 second round (so close to finals) and only first round for pyra. I missed cutoff for 4x4 and 5x5 tho.
Ive been expecting a Gan clock. Because there is currently 1 clock that’s good. Only 1, and that just seems like there is so much potential to completely take over the whole market. 2x2 is kinda similar.
Yeah, there is a gap in the clock market however this isn't as big of a market as other events so this product won't sell as much.
Gan did just released a new upgraded version of the 356m so i'm excited for that
I can’t imagine too many people wanting to buy that but it might fuel them for a little while.
I hope that gan will make another event , the last years were focused on 3x3, maybe they can make a 5x5, a square 1 or something

A good thing GAN could improve is their big cubes. Like imagine a GAN 7x7?!? (Or an actually good GAN 4x4 lol), think about it, all of the opportunities for 4x4-7x7 is a ton right now, because GAN could now be known for the best big cubes on the market if they put in a little time instead of 3x3, such as a 5x5 with the GES nuts and corner to core magnets! Maybe they could find a way to minimize pops and maximize efficiency and ease of use, all the while having the best preforming and best feeling big speedcubes.
I would love to see a GAN 4x4-7x7 however with them not really improving there 3x3's a new range of products would take more time away from their production and innovation of the 3x3 cubes.
MoYu really have been flooding the market with new 3x3x3 releases this year so I suspect the Super RS3M V2 will be their last this year, meaning Gan do have a slot in September, I don't think QiYi will release any major new 3x3x3 this year, especially as they can milk Max Park's 3.13 with their cube. The question really is whether Gan can make a cube that Tymon and Yiheng want to use over their Gan 12s
Yeah I agree, the endorsement this year could be the thing that makes or breaks the GAN 14

we are not an engineer on cubes and stuff so we cant know what gan is gonna do but it better be good cuz moyu is putting big fight and xman it's just soooo consistent
Yeah, other cube companies are coming after GAN and if they don't make something interesting then they could fall off.
I think yes and no. I mained the Gan 13 since I got it in October last year until it broke recently. It was my first Gan cube and is a great cube. I recently bought another 13 to replace my broken one. I also bought a 12 because some people said it was better. Owning a few different “top cubes” (WRM V9, Tornado v3) I can say Gan cubes fit my turning style way better than Moyu and X man cubes. I will be getting the 14 when it comes out, weather it’s different or not I know it will fit my turning style and unless they change something drastic it can’t make me solve any worse, I’ll either solve similar to how I solve now or it’ll make me solve better. Just my opinion
Wow, you bought two 13's and a 12, I bet that put a hole in your pocket! But yeah I agree that the cubes are really good but on an improvement level, GAN isn't really bringing that much.

The 14 is better than the 13, though still worse than the 12.
Also, just watch thecubicle's everyone solves, i think that's a good guideline for what the cube is.

Either gan is a little like Iphone and already know what they will bring to the market for the next few years, but want to spread out a little to make more sales, or what I think they should do is take what theybalready have and make it better...
What I think they will have for the 14, adjustable repelling edge magnets. Soon adjusting your cube will take forever
Yeah and that's one of the worries, if GAN continue to add all of these adjustments then it's going to take ages to adjust and even longer to understand how to adjust.
This turned out to be a pretty accurate prediction, but you have adjustable edge to corner mags.
And they make a big deal about the 1296 different possible configurations, meanwhile there is 1404.
I would say "lacklustre releases" is a highly trivial - price is the only real drawback and I'll concede the features aren't worth the price especially for the 13 BUT, the 12 and 13 are still amazing cubes and if the way they feel is people's preference and they can afford it then it's in no way lacklustre.
Yeah, I main the 13 and it is an incredible cube however the upgrades to both the 12 and 13 weren't too good and if the upgrade to the 14 is the same then I can imagine very few people would buy it.
I think your turning style doesn’t actually fit a gan cube. I don’t really know if its just your fingers but I think you turn too “abnormal” compared to other speedcubers at your speed. Double flicks and F2L efficiency is still a bit lacking. All those magnets are really help you, maybe a little too much. I think not being too dependent on magnets is good to get faster. Consider getting a more controllable cube and get used to it. Also your cross needs better fingertricks.
I know I sound harsh and this is not the right video on how I should critique you but I have seen you doing this and it’s mainly holding you back. In my experience, I went from sub 15 to sub 13 in one month, yet you’re still here in the 13-16 second range. Probably you planned these videos in advance or those things I’ve mentioned were the reason why the times stayed the same for a month.
(Edit: I used all* of your tips to get better at cubing. And wow it actually worked! Thank you so much and if it weren’t for you, I’d have doubts to even cube by now.)
I agree that my turning is not the great and I rely heavily on magnets and corner cutting however no other cubes fit this style. Many cubes like the tornado v3 and MoYu cubes aren’t flexible enough to suit my turning style. Thanks for the advice as well!

Well of course! I think that most people think higher number=better cube and go out to buy it. But in reality, no one uses more than one setting that they find and use forever.
The gan 14 will probably have something no one will have ever seen before, in an answer to moyu
Let’s hope, but it seems like we’ve been saying the same about the 12 and 14 where the changes haven’t been that exiting.

Yeah, they sound good but they aren’t suitable for the majority of cubers as people only care about wca events.

gan still has a long way to go in terms of innovating. they still cant decide on a corner stalk design and can improve how much their cubes catch through actual piece to piece design. once they've made a "perfect cube" they can still innovate ways to make their cubes cheaper since features in products naturally become less costly to produce over time. They could also release new versions or types of 3x3s that may be heavier or more similar to the old Air series or maybe branch out into 4x4-7x7. Plus they have basically no competition in the smart cube market. gan isnt dying and their cubes (especially older releases) id say are more worth it than the science fair project lookin 3x3s that moyu has been releasing recently.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense. However you mentioned the corner stalk and piece design but for most cubers, these aren’t features which people are looking out for and therefore many cubers may not buy the GAN flagships as the improvement doesn’t seem that impressive.
The piece design on gans hasn't changed in the last like 5 years apart from more magnets and adjustability. Why don't they adopt the design moyu has already had with the gts3?

I think the smartcube Market is underrated. Btw- GAN is the only big player in this market with a useful and functional app which is useful to every Level cuber. I think this Business will be get bigger and bigger in Future. if other brands still want to find a connection in These markets, they will probably have to attach themselves to the GAN Cubestation app. one of its own will no longer be able to establish itself. I think that's where the increasing future will lead
There is certianly a large gap in the smart cube market however (give me your opinion on this as well) I feel like smart cubes can get boring after a short time as there isn't a great deal to do, especially at the current time.
Cube company's should just get patents on their designs. This way other companies can't use their technology.
Yeah maybe, but this seems like a really long and tedious process for cube companies to go through.

Got to say this whole video is just hypothetical and conjecture without any proof to back it up. If you haven’t been a fan of the last few releases fair enough but you should be clear that this is your opinion and not fact. You also can’t post a graph showing declining sales without a source.
Fair enough, I am completely a fan of GAN and have mained there last 3 cubes for a long time. However I can just see what could happen in the future if they do not have an exiting change.
