      Most do. People only wanna see the negative. Media only puts out what they know people will view. If it’s about police and it’s not controversial the news won’t show it

      @@MFFL_MDP I'd love to see more than just the passing story of a cop trying to make a little kids day better. Look at the video of the police assaulting a 16 year old mental health patient in Lincolnton, when one officer started punching a sitting handcuffed minor he was literally dragged away until him and the officer trying to subdue him fell to the ground. Then the cheif of that station defended him saying he didn't see two punches but one and it wasn't a punch but a push. It's situations like that where not only the officer who punched the kid is guilty, not that he'll be found guilty; he is pressing felony charges against the minor though for spitting, the whole department feels tainted and shady.

    Night shift isn't for everyone, eyes and body get used to it. I've been doing night shift for almost 10 years because of my kid. As much as it can be tough it also gives you time to get chores done when there is less chaotic and less waiting lines at stores etc.

      It takes time, nights in my line of work brings different challenges but I find it more easier at nights and hardest part is trying to get into bed right after i get home. The lure of internet and t.v is real, if I get distracted then I am screwed. Body and mind have gotten used to it. Needed few adjustments to my surroundings as well, like putting a gym in my basement so I could work out there and save time. I do grocery once a week and prepare my lunches all at once. Little things like that free up your down ( between shifts) Time.

    • @iscomakanaky
      @iscomakanaky 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dusk Riffs I can see your trying to be noticed but I don't have time to banter words with you.i talked about some police officers who think they are gods,which is certainly true .With all the videos I watch from the United States,some of the police officers take lives instead of saving lives.Look at the number of people police officers kill every year and compare it with the lives the save and see if it even up to half of the other half which simply means they kill more than they save.i really liked this ladies vlog and I said she was very nice bcs it's very rare to find nice police officers in the United States.if you don't like what i am saying to her and my comments on police officers then I don't know what u want.

    • @iscomakanaky
      @iscomakanaky 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dusk Riffs well man there’s no need throwing causes around.Sorry I forget ur from the United States were some people don’t respect how old they are and absolutely cause which shows a bad example to the one growing up.You statistics are wrong just in 2015 alone 1134 people were murdered by the police,facts and please start checking from 2001 and you will see how many people they have mudured.Maybe before 2030 it might be a number of a small country.Thanks for causing me by the way.Thats why there’s less crime in Canada bcs we conduct ourselves not like the U S A.

    God bless you police lady. Best regards from the Republic of Ireland. Happy New year.
    Just a tip: you can get blackout curtains to stop the light shining threw. There is just a little bit of light rays coming threw the edges though.
    They can be super delicate to wash, especially if the blackout lining touches another part of the blackout lining. They can melt into each other in the wash.
    I know this because I have them in my bedroom for years now. Their is a street light, a few yards outside my bedroom window Basically, shining directly into the top of my bed. But thanks to the blackout curtains, I can't see the streetlights light.
    Just a tip. Wash them on a colder wash, like 30°Celsius or something like that, and make sure that their is some sort of fabric, like a light bed sheet, over the blackout lining to reduce the chances of the blackout lining melting to itself in the wash.

    I recently came upon your Channel and I’m 16 years old, I wanna be a police officer and watching your perspective as a girl makes me feel more confident but I’m really nervous that I won’t make it and although I haven’t moms support some of my family tells me it’s not worth it and as a girl I shouldn’t do it... I would either wanna work in the prison cells or with the gang members, growing up that’s what I was around and I saw it really interesting especially because I like to see what’s happening and anything with criminal justice catches my attention... I would also like to ask you if you have any advice for someone my age wanted to be a cop wether it’s school wise or my outside life ?

      I'm so glad you came across my channel! Welcome 😊 First of all, I can't believe your family tells you you're not good enough. You are BEYOND good enough and you can do anything that you put your mind to. Everyone told me that i wouldn't be able to make it as a cop because I'm too girly and have a bubbly personality. I proved them wrong because it was a goal i wanted to accomplish. If you really want this as a career PLEASE do not give up. You can do it! There are a lot of female officers out there. We all made it through and so can you. Since you still are young I would wait until 18-21 to start the process. Depends on the state. Do ride alongs and gain some perspective about the job. Then you can start applying to police agencies once you're a little older. Getting a two year degree isnt a bad idea either. I hope this helps. Keep in touch! If you have any other questions let me know. And remember.. you are AWESOME! 💖

    I worked nights for a majority of my police career. I always enjoyed it. I had a box fan to help knock out the noise and a small window unit to keep the room cold so I could sleep. Blackout curtains and a sleep mask helped round everything out. One thing that made me feel weird is if I came home after a shift and cracked a beer. It'd be like 7 or 8 am and I'm drinking a beer. I'd go back to nights in a heartbeat, but the wife put the kubosh on that one. Happy wife, happy life!

    Thank you for all that you guys do to keep us safe . And thank you for protecting and serving us. Some police officers go extremely above and beyond and that is what happened to me. i had a wonderful experience with probably the sweetest cop. a little bit of background. I don't know if this was considered a welfare check or what.
    I'm a young adult with a terminal illness that has to endure a lot from IV pokes in my hand and port and feeding tube changes all the way to suctioning with a little tube that goes in my nose or mouth all the way to my lungs. As you can imagine these procedures are really painful and discomforting especially due to one of my health problems my pain tolerance is crap. This lady from Lebanon became my 24/7 nurse / caregiver and I live with her and her family since my parents just can't keep up with my care anymore like they used to. And I have a therapy / service dog named Mandy she's a big German Shepherd and she helps me because I'm really weak walking on my own sometimes and I can fall at any given time and she's a really good support system for all the health problems and procedures I have to endure.
    Anyways it was a day where I had to have everything done at once first I had to get my a feeding tube change then I had to get a new IV in my hand and my port then I had to get that suctioning done. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere it can all be done in the home. I completely understand all these need to be done to prevent me from getting infections and to have fresh new equipment in me but just a thought of having them all done in one day and all that pain and discomfort really scared me and I actually hid somewhere. The house we live in is really really big and it was time for me to have these procedures done my nurse was looking all over for me as well as her husband and their daughter. Their daughter works in physical therapy so she had to go to work and then her husband had to go to work. She could not find me so she called 911 and she explained the entire situation. A female cop comes in talks to my nurse. After she was talking to my nurse she searched for me and found where I was at and then Mandy came.
    I saw Mandy first then the female cop. When she found me this is how our conversation went. Cop Hey there im officer Harper how are you doing? Me Im okay you? Cop I'm good. Me it's not everyday I see a cop at my house. Cop I bet. Cop We got a call from your nurse because she couldn't find you. She explained everything to me why she thought you might be hiding lwas she correct? Me yes. Cop how about you and I just talk for a bit. Do you need help getting up? Me Yes my dog Mandy doesn't have her walking harness on and today is one of my weaker days.. so officer Harper helped me get up and we both sat down on some chairs.
    Officer Harper Do you want to tell me whats going on? Me Well today I have to get an Iv put in my hand then I have to get one put in my port in my chest then I have to get my little feeding tube changed and then I have to get suctioned with this little tube that goes in my nose or mouth and down to my lungs the clean me out so I can breathe better and to keep infection away. Officer Harper you do understand these need to be done and why right? Me Yes i do but when these procedures are painful and discomforting it's more difficult for me because due to my health my pain tolerance is pretty low. And we haven't had to do all of this in one day in quite some time. And it really scares me. Officer Harper can I tell you something? Me Sure go ahead. Officer Harper I had some health problems in the past and I know exactly how it feels when you have to get suctioned it's not fun at all but it helped me breathe better and it kept me healthier. Officer Harper I can hear it in your breathing some suctioning might help it out a little bit.
    Me I know it will but I really don't want to do it. It makes it feel like I can hardly breathe when that tube is in there. Officer Harper Does someone need a hug and a shoulder to lean on? Me yes please. . Officer Harper Aww come here honey Then I leaned against Officer Harper and she embraced me with a big hug.
    When she was hugging me I was shaking a little bit because I was pretty scared. Officer Harper Aww I know it's pretty scary it will all be okay honey. I really do feel you and it's completely okay and normal to be scared in your case. I would be too if I had to endure what you have to Me. Its just so hard when these procedures have to be more frequent I have to get my IVs changed every week and it happens to fall on when I need to get my feeding tube changed and when I need to get suctioned. Officer Harper I know it's hard sweetheart I really do my heart hurts for you. Me and it's just a little more difficult that Mandy can't be with me because the area has to be really really clean. Officer Harper Well how about this. I'll stay right by you the whole time and hold your hand while your nurse is doing what she needs to do I'll be with you the entire time. Me you would really do that? Officer Harper of course I would I do this job to help people and it seems like you need my help. I'm going to radio the station and let them know I'm going to be here for a bit to help out.
    Officer Harper. Whenever you're ready we'll go downstairs and get you already so that way your nurse can do what she needs to. It will be okay sweetheart I know it's going to be difficult but we'll get through it together. And just to let you know you had a really good hiding spot your nurse was worried sick. Me It took the strength that I had to get in my spot. Officer Harper are you ready to get this done? Me yeah I think so. Then officer Harper embraced me again and said You're going to be okay honey I promise. Then we went down to where my nurse was and my nurse said There you are habibi I was so worried.
    Are you ready to get all this done? I told her I was a little nervous and she told me don't be nervous I'll be as gentle as I possibly can. officer Harper helped me get on the bed and she asked me to lay down. She helped me get my oxygen on me so that way I could have some oxygen for when it's time to suction me. While I was getting the iv put in my other hand and the other one in my chest when my nurse was about to poke officer Harper counted and told me to give herl hand a squeeze and gently breathe out. I was getting really scared when my nurse was putting the IVs in and changing my feeding tube and officer Harper said hey its okay hon its okay and I said to her that this is not pleasant at all and she said I know honey but your nurse is just doing what she needs to do to keep you healthy. We're almost done I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere. Do some Nice and easy breathing for me.
    Then she put a little Rosary in my al hand while she was holding my hand and when my nurse was about to take out my old feeding tube officer Harper counted when the old one was about to go out and the new one was about to go in and she told me that I was doing really good and to keep doing some nice and easy breathing. Then my nurse said to me you're doing so good habibi just stay really calm and relaxed we're almost done. Then officer Harper took my little oxygen tube out of my nose so that way my nurse could start suctioning. When it was time for suctioning I was like officer Harper I really don't think I can do this I tried to sit up and she lightly put her hand on my chest to keep me from sitting up and she said nope nope buddy you need to stay laying down. Then she said Shhh it's all going to be okay I'm right here honey I'll pray a decade of the Rosary for you while your nurse is suctioning just stay really calm and still focus on me. Then officer Harper said right now your nurse is putting it in your nose first. She told me what was going on because I can't see that great.
    Officer Harper said a decade of the Rosary and the whole time my nurse was telling me that I'm doing really good just keep up being calm and she knew and understood that it was difficult. It was time for her to put the suction in my mouth so my nurse told me to open up big I was a little scared and hesitant and officer Harper said come on now you got this. Now open up nice and big for me and your nurse so we can get those lungs of yours all cleaned out so we can get you breathing better.
    Then officer Harper said your nurse is putting it in your mouth now just keep holding my hand and don't move. After the suctioning while my nurse was giving me a gravity tube feeding officer Harper helped me drink some water and after all of that was finally done my nurse and officer Harper said that I did so good and I did my absolute best to stay calm and relaxed.
    After that officer Harper asked if I wanted to go on a little ride along with her in her police car I said yes and was excited. I asked if I could bring Mandy and she said yes. She took me out to the best Lebanese restaurant in our area for lunch in her police car. Lights and Sirens were on. A dear friend of ours owns the restaurant and she thought it was really cool that officer Harper did that. officer Harper paid for both of our meals. Before lunch was over she gave me a card with her number on it and she said to me if you need anything at all when it's time for another day like that or if you just want to talk feel free to call and I will be right over to help you in any way I can. when she was a kid she had some health problems Growing Up So officer Harper and I were able to relate a little bit. And since we're both Catholic we bonded over that as well

Team was getting ready to rotate to days. I was ready but........I was moved to another team........ you guessed it, they where going to nights. I year of night shift plus other details as assigned.
    30 years later( 4 with the a SO and 26 with a fed agency) I retired. Saw lots of changes, some bad, some good. I say a prayer every night for those still doing the job that they make it home safely at the end of their shift.

I would always get woken up by the doorbell - I would take the cover off and quickly remove one of the wire (don’t worry it’s easy and low low voltage) then when I would finish my round of nights I’d reconnect. My dad was walking up to the car when the thief hit the gas and was going to run him over. My father fired his weapon into the windshield and unfortunately killed the man. Even though he was justified in having to shoot, it bothered him for a long time. Some people in our town treated him like a criminal. Please be safe out there.

    You're right, police officers are human. Not superheros. They have the same issues and drama in their lives everyone else does. People don't get that. You're definitely heros, but human ones.

    I was on the job for 20 years so I understand. People don't realize that without police there would be absolute chaos. Thank you for your service!

    Can you make a video on long it took for you to complete school, and get hired; things that kept you motivated, etc (if you haven’t already) ? I think I want to start going to school to become a cop but (I’m also a woman) and it’d help a lot ❤️ you’re amazing, thanks for all your service. Sending love from Los Angeles. 💙🖤
