Lima Foodie Tour: We Went to the #1 Best Restaurant in the World (And Almost Didn't Make it Home)

- The last portion of our Peru trip was an all-out food fest in the fabulous coastal city of Lima. We had to visit Central, the (at the time of filming) no. 4 restaurant IN THE WORLD, then we did an unbelievably awesome food tour with Delectable Peru (delectableperu.com/), before hitting up La Rosa Nautica on the beautiful Lima waterfront. After stuffing our faces for 36 hours we hopped on a plane back to the US, only to experience our first engine failure mid-flight! Memorable to say the least! Everything ended well though, thanks to competent pilots!

@@adolfobriceno1635 we did go to Maido but we didn't bring the camera. 🙁 It was FANTASTIC. Wish we could have made it to Isolina, we couldn't get in. I was so so impressed by the sheer amount of excellent restaurants in Lima!
@@kindaclassytravel Here are some of the restaurants that you need to try: 1) La Rosa Nautica, 2) El Bodegon, 3) Senorio de Sulco, 4) Isolina, 5) Osso, 6) Osaka 7) El Rocoto (Food from Arequipa) 8) Nanka, 9) Punto Azul, 10) Canta Rana. I can easily name other 10 restaurants

Hi, I laughed your final story... your friend is at good sleeper like me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It happened to me when I did not feel a big tremor almost earthquake in the pandemic year, epicenter in the sea at Callao - Peru. My mother had to come back from the 1st floor until 2nd floor and run into my bedroom. She shaked me so that I get up! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I was awoke up and I didn't want to leave the house. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Para que piensan que central hace comida tradicional está equivocado y puedo decir que me siento orgulloso que central haga comida de otro nivel

A little advice, if you want to grow your community with Hispanic people, you should put Spanish subtitles on your videos, Peruvian people love to see foreigners try their local food and its varieties. I LOVE PERUVIAN FOOD THE BEST IN THE WORLD

At the first restaurant I think 🤔 💭 that was not potatoe maybe was melloco or Ollucos look like bright colorful potatoes but they are something quite different. These Andean tubers have a somewhat slimy and watery texture, nothing in common to that of potatoes

Central seems a bit too complicated, it seems like you enjoy more the food at the market and at La Mar
Hahaha it was very complicated! But it was an experience too - like an activity, not just a meal. It was very worth it. But yes, we enjoyed the ceviche at the market just as much. Good food doesn't have to be expensive!

Hi! It's the Hilton Lima Miraflores. Great location, reasonable prices, and epic views from their pool and 2 hot tubs! We would definitely recommend it if you're going to Lima!

Haha! I'm still kicking myself, I didn't have my camera out when we stalled out in traffic for five minutes while the driver hot-wired the car...😂
You find good and clean taxis too. I prefer another safe app called "In Drive" is less expensive than Uber, its cabs are very good.

Lima’s culinary scene is absolutely amazing, although CENTRAL restaurant is OVERRATED and overpriced, I wish bloggers would say the truth.
You only need a handful of stupid tourists (not you lol 😂) to get a place to the moon famous and popular even if the place is mediocre.
I agree, I think food quality and taste was far better elsewhere, the experience at Central is what you pay for. We probably wouldn't go back, but I'm glad we went. We also went to Maido and ate from their a la carte menu (off camera) - unbelievable food at a fraction of Central's price! That being said, I think the best meal I had in Peru was ceviche from the fish market. 😀
Can’t believe they’re still doing the stupid , useless masks in Perú, I was going to visit (home) soon but I’ll pass, I refuse to endure draconian measures.
I know! However it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. This was early 2022 so things may have changed somewhat since then. Don't miss out on going home because of masks!
I was in Lima last week visiting family and I came back with COVID. I didn’t know I had it until I had a test when getting home. I was feeling unwell for a few days before leaving but I thought it was just a cold or flu. I wish I wore my mask at all times from the beginning. Right now I’m at home in my room, can’t go to work, I can’t spend time with my kids or my husband.
