- In a previous video I reviewed the Ubiquiti Networks Unifi 802.11ac Dual-Radio PRO Access Point (AP). This is a follow up video expanding my network by adding on an Ubiquiti Networks UniFi AP AC Lite.
I expanded my network by adding on another Unifi access point so that I would have a single SSID (wireless network name). These APs are all PoE, so all you need is a network cable to the installation location.
These access points are awesome:

I sell these at my work in Australia. I found your video as I was looking on for more info on the LR. You provided that info, thank you. Well done.
Paul Bonadies does it gives highest speed does it attract lightning
Many thanks indeed! Appreciate you taking the time to explain in simple terms :)
Hey Andrew, enjoyed your video!
Could you please share which app you used to show the WiFi handoff?
A mesh network is not a booster. With mesh you can roam between accespoints. The accespoints cummunicate with each other :)
Most point can be installed wireless or with utp. If possible always utp :)
Supper Thanks what wifi scanner are you using (name)
Did you just use the access points, or did you buy there gateway and or switch and key? Because I think you can just use the AP and your own switch and set them up with the app and be fine without the need for extra equipment
whats is the name of the apps use for scan signal
Sir, what is the size of your house? does it work well for 1 floor and at what size?
What is that app you used?
What app did you use to monitor the handoff? 9:48
great review. Thank you.
can i used with my wifi or i need it with the ethernet cabel ?
Nice information but I could do without the music in the background. It makes it hard to understand for anyone with even a little bit of hearing loss.
7:07 took me a while to pause at the right frame 😂
Great Video, but, there are some many questions about that, like, what was de topology of your network?, i mean, there are a CPE (from your USP) that router have a LAN, the first AP it's conected to LAN port of this CPE?, and the second AP was conected to the same LAN of that CPE?, or was conected to the first AP wireless way?, i want to know more about that, , i want to buy two AP ubiquiti lite, but i dont want to adding switches and routers, i just want connect the ppal AP to my provider LAN router, and the second AP connected to my ppal AP in the wireless way, will this work?
Mantap bang ilmunya, sangat bermanfaat
Can the Unifi Lite operate in Bridge mode.? i.e. I want to extend my internet service to my garage which is 150 ft from my router location in the house. In the garage I have a 1 GB switch connecting various ham radio devices to the internet. If I install a Lite in the house and. LITE in the garage can the devices be configured to feed internet access to the 1Gb switch?
what is the app you used to check wifi signal and do you know a similar version for iphone?
Since he doesn't seem to want to share what the app is or answer the 4 or 5 other people that asked, I did some digging and found what appears to be it. I found it on the play store, but had no way to post a picture here. I also found it as a free download on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Abdelrahman-M-Sid-WiFi-Analyzer/dp/B07M5LXK2L
Might give it a try.
hi I wanted to have some information please. i am going to buy a ubiquity unifi ap ac lite. But there is no LAN and POE cable in the package. Do I have to buy them separately?
Did you buy cables? I've just bought this and no cables in the box, I only want to boost my WiFi
Wondering about the cat: is it Cat 5 or Cat 6?
Doesnt matter honestly both Cat5 or Cat6 can do POE with an injector or a switch that does POE

If I am currently working with another Router (Asus) as my primary device which creates a network SSID that broadcasts both a 2.4 & 5 gHz frequency, will this Unifi device be able to repeat this same network if I create the SSID to be the same credentials as the Asus Router, hopefully creating a "mesh" type network with two brands via ethernet cable? Sorry for the complicated question, but I hope it made sense.
They just added mesh funtionality on the latest firmware, is still on beta mode, I'm doing a unifi netwok with unifi gateway, unifi switch and 4 access point.
You mention "solid copper wiring" - can you use the PoE injector with a regular cat5e cable?
You can use regular cat5 wiring _as long as it is made of solid copper wiring._ Most cat5 ethernet cables you see in use in people's homes, boxed with new devices such as routers etc., are all the "stranded copper" type ethernet. Same deal with cat6, it can be either stranded OR solid. Solid copper cat5/cat6 is supposed to be installed once/permanently, then never moved or even flexed again over its service life. Unlike the stranded kind, which is expected to be flexed often. Solid copper wire can only be flexed a relatively few amount of times, before it will be damaged. So just that one crucial POE run of solid copper ethernet cable must be installed bearing those requirements in mind. (never to be moved/flexed after install)
Can i use in brunei that unifi
How much 1ruter
Wish it had an ethernet out port.
what would happen if I hooked one of these up with a Power line adapter?
You can do that. But I would recommend a MoCA adapter. Much faster and more reliable than powerline adapters.
Nice video-but can you please stop the music? This type of video would come across much more effectively with just your comments. PS- I did purchase 4 of these. Thank You.
The UAP-AC-Pro supports 1300Mbps whereas the UAP-AC-Lite and UAP-AC-LR support 867Mbps on the 5Ghz
this information is incorrect from the Unifi site: 802.11n (5 GHz 2x2) 6.5 Mbps to 450 Mbps (MCS0 - MCS23, HT 20/40) 802.11n (5 GHz 2x2) 6.5 Mbps to 450 Mbps (MCS0 - MCS23, HT 20/40) store.ui.com/products/unifi-ap-pro
@@owenkittredge3433 That's the old, non-AC model, the Unifi AP Pro. You're looking for the Unifi AP *AC* Pro.

Stephen Goldstein hi I wanted to have some information please. i am going to buy a ubiquity unifi ap ac lite. But there is no LAN and POE cable in the package. Do I have to buy them separately?
@@eleonoracargno3397 when you buy the single AP you get a PoE injector and mains lead in the box. If you buy a 3 pack or 5 pack they don't have the PoE injector as they expect you to use a PoE switch.
Can it be setup as mesh? With the same ssid?
Yes but in mesh networks you cut your speed in half with each mesh connection so if you have internet of 250 mbps you will only see 125 mbps on a system connected to an AP that is connected via mesh.
Name app android for Scan?
Holy crap... can you please not put the background "music" behind your voice track? It turns a good video into a terrible video.
