We make our actions clear as a deterrent. NATO doesn't want to fight Russia because that would spell catastrophe for all of Europe, even with NATO's overwhelming troops and equipment. Since Ukraine is not a member of NATO, we cannot do anything for Ukraine besides condemn Russia through sanctions but the fear is that Russia may invade Poland, a neighboring country to Ukraine that serves as a buffer zone between Russia and the rest of Europe.
We must do everything possible to support NATO. That's where we draw the line between peace and war. We support Poland and every NATO member country. We will protect every inch of NATO, no matter who is threatening or how much military power they have.

No, Russia has started a war and has Ukraine under siege. Ukraine is yet to declare war as Russia has not physically entered their territory even though shelling has begun. Russia would have already invaded and annexed more territory if they did not encounter diplomatic and military resistance for NATO and the US because they could have their way with Ukraine by itself.
Most wars are probably fought for financial gain (i.e. to take the resources of another nation or because of the vested interests of shareholders in munitions manufacturing). I'd like to think that the posibility of mutually assured destruction would be sufficient to prevent the use of nukes.

Since Ukraine is not a member of NATO, we cannot do anything for Ukraine besides condemn Russia through sanctions but the fear is that Russia may invade Poland, a neighboring country to Ukraine that serves as a buffer zone between Russia and the rest of Europe.

No, Russia has started a war and has Ukraine under siege. Ukraine is yet to declare war as Russia has not physically entered their territory even though shelling has begun. Russia would have already invaded and annexed more territory if they did not encounter diplomatic and military resistance for NATO and the US because they could have their way with Ukraine by itself.

Most wars are probably fought for financial gain (i.e. to take the resources of another nation or because of the vested interests of shareholders in munitions manufacturing). I'd like to think that the posibility of mutually assured destruction would be sufficient to prevent the use of nukes.
