my neighbor has rather good luck with roses and her rule is you must always talk to your plant and compliment them often........seems to work well for her
I Really love when you go out to your garden and show us your flowers that you have in it including your David Austin Roses ....and I also love the names of them to ....thank you Elliott and Matt for being a TH-cam friend...
I'm thinking of planting my small side garden in assorted pots this year due to you dear Elliot 💐 Until you did more garden vlogs I would never have thought of doing it~ "Size matters". Very cheeky lovely❣ Joan 🇺🇸
I received my first 2 David Austin roses for my birthday in march and they are already producing beautiful roses love watching your outside video's keep them coming x
Thank you Elliot-last year was my first year with David Austin roses and they have been wonderful. I put them all in pots so I can move them out of severe cold in the winter and also keep the deer from eating them! I plan to get more this spring.
That's interesting. The David Austin Website say the pots should be 45cm in diameter minimum but you have had success growing in smaller pots-this definitely reassures me, as I only have a small garden.
Hi! I stumbled on your channel and I absolutely Love it!!! I want to know what is the possibility of planting a malvern Hills Climbing rose in a pot? I had this vision of it being on my upper deck off of my kitchen and i want it to go up and over the French doors. I just received 8 david austins. Im crazy! I even got Constance Spry in this order Gasp!!
I have to say I have never protected mine and each year they have been fine. That’s not to say that in even colder climates you shouldn’t! Please do what works for you in your geographical location. Trial and error is sometimes required. If I was going to protect I would move the roses in pots into a greenhouse or more sheltered spot and wrap with bubble wrap.
I planted 4 bare root roses in pots at the same time, all prep’d the same, 3 did great, 1 nothing 😥 Do you have any ideas? Thank you for the pot sizes, I am one of the ones who asked 👍. 💐

The plants like the carbon dioxide that we exhale! So talking is like air to them 💨
Best video for today, the first day of Spring🌸🌼🌻🧡

Yes. Works for me! Just remember to feed them each week in growing season!
@@ElliotNMatt how much liquid feed and water please?
Happy Spring🌷🌹🌱
Lovely video for the first day of spring 🐞🐰
Thank you Elliot ,love your garden volgs 😁❤❤😁
Thank you Elliot for posting this!, I’m going to put my new DA roses in pots too! Are you going to take the pots to your new places!,
No will start again pots wise but may take the bare roots.
Thank you very helpful indeed 💞
Aren't these a bit small? DA recommends 45x45 container for a SINGLE rose.
Thanks!

Thank you for taking the ice to measure! So do you repot them or these are pretty much their permanent home?
You can upsize pots after a few years if you like or just replace the soil every 3 years.
Where do you get your pots from?
Do you leave the roses outside over winter in pots? I live in zone 7, us.
Hi Elliot
Do you like the Debrett's
You should use a carpenter’s tape measure😂
The meadow will miss you..
❤
May I ask what roses are in your 3 pots as singular roses please.
Anne Boleyn, Princess Anne, William and Catherine
@@ElliotNMatt I thought It was princess Anne. It's next on my want (need) list haha. Thank you x
@@ElliotNMatt beautiful garden by the way. Loved the tour x
