I love my 322 and 455 John Deere tractors 🚜 both of them make great cuts

Great video Rory. Mowing videos tend to be really relaxing, and your narration is very professional as well. Looks like the 322 mows great, and I have a soft spot for those silver deck Deere walk-behinds also. Sucks that you had to sell the 455, but I'm sure you'll find another one down the road. I hope to own a diesel Deere of that size someday, but it's not in the books right now. I just passed on a very reasonably-priced original 318 which is on my wish list, but I can't see myself owning another tractor right now until I sell some of my other ones.

I have a 01 455 , I'll have it till the day I leave this world, I just bought a 89 322 with 639 hours. Needs some TLC & Little Carb. work and I think it will hold its own for sure......

I can definitely agree that the 50" deck needs a speed up pulley. My 50 under my '88 318 cut about 6in-a foot of grass on my neighbors property and did a horrendous job. It left uncut areas that looked like it was brushhogged. I was not impressed. My 46in woulda knocked it right down and left a nice path.

The only thing i can say is dismiss brake clean on or in the carb. It will destroy. Chemical reaction causes massive corrosion.

A zero turn woukd really be optimal for your lawn you can really get tight to all obstacles and no worry about scampi g or leaving areas high

Zero turns and garden tractors are completely different types of equipment. Can't use any of his implements on a zero turn..

@@dajb90not to mention zero turns scuff the grass too easy and they only have 2 drive wheels. Garden tractors are available in 4 wheel drive.

Heya Rory, I stumbled upon your videos a while back and I'd actually just purchased a 322. Had the 2 point blade and 50" deck and a mule drive with it. Now it does definitely hesitate to throttle up and is quite jerky with the hydro drive. I've been doing small engine work since I was old enough to drag a piece of equipment home and I'm going to see if I can soak the Carb in lacquer thinner and get any results from it. It didn't have the deck on it when I bought it so hopefully I can figure that out and she needs see wheel weights and chains for it and hopefully it already has that speed up pulley on it. What was the diameter of the speed up pulley if you recall? Anyway sorry to be long winded but I love the content and the way you moderate the videos has a good feel :) thanks for posting!!

Update: it worked flawlessly. Seems as if the speed up pulley is already on the deck too. Also I'm trying to find that snowblower you use. What was the model and size?

Daniel Morris Thanks for the comment, and the update! I’m becoming more and more encouraged with trying the lacquer thinner method. I’m glad you like my videos - helps me keep the motivation to make them!!

Unfortunately although these old deeres are great tractors the mowing quality is not the best an old allis chalmers or simplicity cannot be beat for mowing quality
