I remember during bungie days, they absolutely wanted to spend all their time with the players in halo servers and you could find bungie developers in matchmaking lobbies having a fun time with everyone, god I miss bungie halo days.
@ it’s cause it’s a whole new generation of people, it’s the not same enthusiastic developers who wanted to make a game for a passion and not for a quick buck.
@@JkrocskoThe industry is "fine" the issue is just that when these companies get so big and success means chasing everyone's tail, then suddenly there's far less passion for making every small connection matter. I'd heavily suggest looking into more AA game projects and indie studios. Not everyone is a good person; most people are bad people. The same can be said of game studios, but there are those which are smaller and more passionate about their work and the communities they build.
We should get a petitions started about not spending another dime on anything Halo until whatever is going on with the studio is utterly fixed because this is so freaking ridiculous. Why aren't you hiring people that are wanting to do this. Digsite should be core developers for Halo studios for all they did. There is a clear view that Microsoft is not wanting to take care of Halo and studio heading Halo content does not want to take the right actions to make good Halo content.

Wouldn't go as expected, pre live service the game made money initially then was all costs from then on once sales died off , FPS games were a money pit and Microsoft was likely over the Halo "community" before Halo 3 . This is why they handed off series to an untested crap studio.
People in the comments acting like theyre not gonna buy the next HaloTM like they did for the last 3 pieces of crap regardless of how much 343 beat the fans like a dog.
whats annoying is then you get weirdos blaming this on "woke" or communism or whatever delusional shit other than the obvious capitalist corporate greed that it is.
I stopped playing halo altogether. Microsofts new business model: 1. Create false hope over new game. 2. Release unfinished game. 3. Inject the unfinished content as shop items. 4. Milk fans wallets. 5. Drop all live support for the game. 6. Act like nothing happened and announce new game. 7. Rinse and repeat.
@1:15 that's wild considering the community is the whole reason Halo survived. Forgers, Machinimist, RoosterTeeth and of course, the players. There's only so many times you can replay short campaign content. MLG did really boost Halo, but again, the players were still the key. Without dedicated players, MLG would of never gained traction. Halo is a community game, always will be.
I’m the level designer for Plunderland. And as someone who’s been striving to break into the industry I find it extremely disappointing that even though my map made it into matchmaking , the studio itself doesn’t even deem my project worthy. Something I was supposed to be proud of as an achievement is now sullied and feels like it barely means anything. Thanks 343! Edit: thanks for all the kind words gents, I appreciate it and you certainly put into perspective the real reason we make these maps. For people to have fun. I still get tickled by how many people have played and enjoyed Plunderland, and 343 can’t ruin that.
Yeah its nice to know just how little they think of us. I've provided more BTB maps to their game in the last 2 years than their actual devs, but that doesn't matter apparently. Can't wait for my NDA to expire so I can share just what a shitshow the BTB refresh actually was.
I've been working on assets for a free Halo fan project. At this point I'm afraid to continue working on and releasing it because of 343/Microsoft's toxic attitude towards Halo fans.
this isnt even a telling them with your wallets moment anymore this is a straight up just stop playing and watch them suffer moment devs would kill for such a dedicated fanbase to any game and here they are telling us to F off
Yep. I played a little Infinite in 2024 but stopped. Occasionally play MCC to scratch the itch, but now I refuse to play either. We have to teach 343 a lesson by abandoning Halo completely until they make it right
Its so so SO crazy that Halo Studios couldnt even make it to their first game before having their reputation sink even further than 343's, if only because now everyone knows only the name changed and any good will gained was instantly lost. If these people just hate Halo and hate Halo fans so much, just axe the franchise, Id rather have it die then let Microsoft keep it.
@@ThisHandleSystemCanGetNicked can you explain how they are there? Pierre is the guy running the show now as well as probably the guy that did the layoffs. (Funny how people thought that would fix Halo)

One thing I’ve always really appreciated about Halo Content Creators as opposed to other games and series is just how much they ride for the community as a whole. It’s definitely getting better now, but I remember a time when people who made content on games like COD or Fortnite couldn’t be trusted AT ALL, because they would always take the money and shut their mouths. All that to say, thank you to all the content creators speaking out to try to help make the series we all love better and more respectful of us, the players

Imagine Anonymous comes back, assembles a team of modders, shadows drops links and continues to post links no matter how many times MS takes it down. That’d be funny as hell I’m surprised this stuff hasn’t been done in gaming before.
The rabbit hole goes deep. The Halo 2: Artifacts podcast. Microsoft’s always been out of touch, they’ve never cared. The difference between then and now is Bungie had respect and control. Now, Microsoft holds the brand. This is what they want.
Bungie had balls of steel. A few of them were genuinely kind of terrible, and they had no issue making things happen their way. Bungie, to this day, is still doing shitty things like firing people to take their bonuses. 343 never stood a chance with their lack of vision, backbone or talent.
I remember hearing how Bungie had to keep fighting off Microsoft on a lot of decisions back in the day. They now have really weak leadership that is scared to do so. 343 team should have been drawing lines in the sand much earlier but at this point they are just scared of losing their job and do everything they say. The power dynamics have changed drastically since Bungie.
@@EternalFountBungie today is not the same as Bungie back then at all. But Marty said that honestly it wasn’t Bungie itself that allowed it to remain free. There was a Microsoft executive that protected them from Microsoft.
I hope no one actually makes the requested content they asked for Infinite. As much as I like playing community made content in matchmaking, kinda feels bad knowing how they treat those community members. If we don’t provide the content, let’s see how Infinite holds up without community made stuff.
Why not take advantage of free workers? Like take their work, ban them and sell for profit. Not Microsofts fault for doing this, it's the modders enabling the entire process.
Yeah right, not Microsoft's fault for being needlessly predatory towards their flagship IPs fanbase that is already declining its the people who care about the game. Do you work for Microsoft? @AlwayzFresh
fine. ill forget it ever existed then. i had my fun. fun is over i guess. fuck them. ill spend my time doing better things not microsoft related just out of spite
No hate, but the kind of sweat you see in the gameplay of this vid with all those quick zoom sniper shots and grapple-tp-midair kill is half the reason Halo isn't fun anymore. Halo was never supposed to be a super competitive movement shooter that neets drill like an esport. It's overtaken by a crowd that takes it way more seriously than what it's supposed to be.
yeah, it’s the main reason I don’t even touch MCC anymore. There isn’t an easy divide between casuals and sweats, so it’s always fun for sweats but not always (if not ever) fun for casuals who don’t spend hours and hours in a game
This is not a Halo-only problem. This happens to any game that dies down: only the die-hards stay on the servers. I used to play great on H2 and H3 back in the day, best player among friends etc and the longer the player count has been falling, the more I get owned in games.
@@zerocal76 I'd argue games are coming out like that on arrival. I've never been a very competitive gamer which is why I loved Halo cause it was so casual friendly. I was bad at old CoD, but I can't even play the new stuff it would just be me getting smoked the whole match. And I'm not like a 40 year old dad I'm 20 lmao, but so many games now are like super competitive and sweat now.
@@Necromediancer most of the reason games come out like that are due to the absolute rampant cheating, both on console and pc. There are so many cheaters and very few devs care enough to stop it and many MANY people have gaslighted themselves into thinking that cheating always means a guy completely breaking the game in obvious ways like making himself invis or fly around or infinite ammo. Plenty of subtle hard to prove ways to cheat that many people abuse.
Man just get good. Halo was ALWAYS sweaty since its out. Its not even a competitive game compared to CS. Its one of the most casual shooters on the market. The reason why you suck and get destroyed because you dont even try to play good.
I think the worst part about all of this is the absolute shortsightedness and lack of professionalism. 1: They want a successful game franchise, but won't provide requested features. Cheap and easy PR. Easy money. Unprofessional IP handling. 2: The community provides the requested features themselves and are treated as if they are criminally liable. Absolutely short-sighted, unprofessional. Bad PR. Bad IP Handling. Affects profits. 3: Refuses to handle the IP properly in regard to its story, adaptations, and community relations. Bad PR. Affects bottom line. Makes Microsoft look even worse than it already does. Anybody who defends this cannot possibly imagine how much money and financially profitable public goodwill have been lost by them fumbling this bag for nearly two decades. To be extremely clear: Between the TV show and their handling of community developers, they have made such poor decisions. When Microsoft inevitably fires half the team and places Halo on the chopping block, the news media will likely blame the fans. People who spent their time, their money working for Microsoft for free trying to benefit Microsoft's products and Microsoft's bottom line will be blamed for Microsoft mishandling Microsoft's public relations with the remaining people who have faith in Microsoft's leadership potential. Microsoft, lead or step aside. A team of fifty could do what you're doing at a twentieth the price and do it better. Step up, square up, and do your job. You get paid for this. We do not.
Hell, the fans will probably blame the fans too. Theres the big chunk that has the concept that, "if we'd all just lower our standards and accept whatever they give us, we'd have more Halo! Its the fault of the fans who want the games to not suck!"
They BRAG about over 70 fucking maps in the game in recent trailers, boasting of content. How the actual FUCK do they NOT CONSIDER COMMUNITY CONTENT REAL CONTENT!?!

Microsoft is becoming Nintendo at this point. The sad thing is that it's probably not gonna have a big enough effect on their profits for them to care. Just another game studio that has no care for their community whatsoever, just profit profit profit.

Eeh, a lot of the old names in AAA games have gotten way too greedy but this is also a golden era for rising studios. Also remember stuff like the DOOM franchise, Elden ring, Baldur's Gate, hell even Minecraft is still going strong. Microsoft has always been the biggest problem with Halo
It's just a symptom of a larger issue in the West. EVERYTHING is in decline right now. @@maxj9204 That's pretty much where we've been headed for an entire decade; AAA on the steady decline because of greed and poor leadership, and the indie scene on a steady rise due to better (and affordable) tools in game creation. It's a shame that not many people, not even, (and I would say especially) those at 343, understand what Halo really is. It's not necessarily the games, or the books, or Chief that makes it so special. It's that it is a dream that each of us can make our own. I see people like Mint Blitz, Installation 00, HiddenXperia, and GeneralKidd make that dream that is Halo real for them, and I love that.
What are people expecting from microsoft? Remember Marty said that working under macrohard was a big mistake and they were treated poorly, digsite was just a reminder of what they are truly like.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect and want better interactions with the community they "try" to foster. Building their games up for longevity in the future is something that should be an industry standard for beloved games. There's loads of game devs that do it right.
Yea this is really the absolute spit in the face. Can’t be bothered to make their own content for the game and then immediately turn around and completely shit on the community members who are working *for free* to provide the content for their game that they refuse to make. Absolutely batshit insane stuff coming out of Microsoft these days holy hell
This stirred up my thoughts, man. I grew up with Halo. I remember showing clips off my Xbox with my brother of a sick ricochet shot I'd pulled off by accident. To think that this is the state of my favorite franchise of all time. Twenty Five years old now and I have no more hope for this studio.
This is a very hard blow to the community. They will probably never learn how to deal with the community. I was rather positive about Halo Studios, but now I think too that only a name change and nothing else has changed.
I have a halo tattoo and damn near regret it because of the sheer embarrassment this IP has become. It solely represents my memories with friends now, not a current love of the game.
@@NickTemperistic I don’t like that I sound like a pessimist with this, but that’s probably exactly why halo studio saw the dig site team as a threat: dig site wants to keep halo going and are doing it better than Halo or 343 ever did. It’s so jover, Spartans. It’s been a wild ride over the last 20 years, and I’m so glad I was here for the peak days of 2, 3 and Reach; what an amazing time it was. Sad to see it end like this,
I’m convinced we will never have a good thing happen to Halo ever again especially when the very company that controls it literally works tirelessly to destroy their own game. You have to wonder why???
Honestly I think it’s leadership at 343i/Halo Studios. Somebody, or somebodies in positions of power, really hate seeing content done better than what they can direct. Can someone say petty tyrant?
as someone who hasn't owned an xbox in a long time its honestly depressing seeing how poorly theyre handling such a beloved franchise. genuinely just shooting themselves in the foot and sticking it to the entire community for no reason. honestly makes me uninterested in any future halo projects if this is where their priorities lie.
Part of me wonders if Microsoft just wants to let halo die. I’ve been a fan for years and other than going back through the books i havent had anything worth looking forward to since bungie. There’s so much that could be done with the halo franchise in a gaming setting. So many missed opportunities.
If they wanted to let halo die they could've just stopped making the games when bungie said they were done with it. The only way this many bad decisions are consistently made is by someone that genuinely hates the franchise and the community with a burning passion and has a lot of power at Microsoft or 343/halo studios. It's legit psychotic behavior fumbling a series like halo out of spite, but at this point nothing else makes sense
Stop supporting the franchise. I'm 31. I grew up playing Halo, it was my childhood. I gave up on the franchise after Halo 4. It's about time everyone else turned their back on the fake Halo games too. The real games are Reach, 1-3 and ODST. Everything else is fake to me.
@Nobelsix-li1qg it’s a completely valid and understandable opinion though. LOTR books not written by Tolkien wouldn’t be accepted as canon, so why not the same with video games? The original authors are gone, their original visions and direction for the story shall not be followed, therefore the story is over. Any written product that has been put down by one writer and picked up by another is fanfiction. It can be good fanfiction - in rare occasions even better than the real thing - but it’s still fanfiction.
If you love something, sometimes it’s okay to let it go. Halo is fun. The community is fun. What is not okay is to keep dishing out money to a company that doesn’t care. Xbox needs to end. Halo’s legendary status should be left alone. We’ve had a good run.
I agree wholeheartedly. It’s time for Microsoft to leave the video game business. They’re too consumed by greed, ironically, to realize they’re leaving money on the table by refusing to just do right by their fans.
they dont even _care_ about the show everybody’s main takeaway from this should be that microsoft execs dont even care about halo looking good, or bad, or .. anything
I haven't played Infinite in over year, I uninstalled it. The Halo Studios rebrand is just buying time for them to spit out their remakes and try and take some of the heat off them for a while
Giving the fans, or CUSTOMERS, what they want is directly correlated to an increase of profits. It's really that simple. I genuinely do not understand the illogical thought process behind almost every gaming corporation of seeing very clearly what a fanbase (CUSTOMERS) want, and just... flat out refusing to do it.
Why would you do that? If the next Halo is a good game, making it a failure will, in no way, make any Microsoft executive more fond of halo as a community or business. Dont be daft please.
@questioned54 no corporate entitiy is ever fond of their IP, they are fond of the money it makes. A good game will sell no matter what, but at the end of the day the community that supports it is what will determine if it keeps making money or not. Halo Studios has already shown they have nothing to do with what the community does, this will eventually lead to the next release's failure, whether there be incentive to intentionally sabotage it or not money is the only language that talks when it comes to companies, if they want to succeed they better listen to who they are offering their products, else no one will be there to lend a hand, we already have a Ubisoft
i honestly think they have a thing against the MCC due to the fact its a bungie games collection. and maybe its a direct slap to their face when its succeeding. makes no sense why they haven't added halo 5 or infinite to it otherwise. i could be wrong, just how i feel. but one guy in your comments previous video was strongly defending halo studios and saying they were more than a rebrand. but they need to earn the trust, which they are failing to do. if they were more than a rebrand i doubt we would be seeing these issues, especially with infinite content. unless there is a real puppetmaster.
4 is in it, and Reach's post-release multiplayer content could be considered 343 as well They couldn't keep monetizing it (the community revulsed at the idea of paid spartan points) and instead of coming up with a different solution they just stopped work on it
@@Decretum Yeah, I mean... adding all the features people want isn't free. They did spend close to ten years updating the thing to get it in a better space, added a ton of cosmetics, playlists, achievements, et cetera, but all that is time and effort spent on getting consumer goodwill. And as we've seen, MS isn't playing that game anymore, unfortunately. Plus, like... MCC is held together by duct tape and prayers to a degree--it launched in a miserable state and took years to bandage together into something okay. Add in the fact that apparently Halo 5's code was a nightmare to work with (apparently the reason they never released it on PC), so bolting it onto the Frankenstein kludge of the MCC probably will introduce all new bugs... and so a new round of buxfixing, which will require more time and money spent on the MCC which they won't sell more copies of because I doubt anyone looks at a Halo compilation and decides the lack of Halo 5 is a problem...
people need to stop adding emotion to microsoft and its execs like this bc they just _dont care_ they are entirely apathetic . theyre like robots . theyre not emotional, theyre not angry at bungie games, or anything . they just .. dont care
I am starting to wonder if a big investor has came in and has a say in all of these decisions or something. In the past 2 years microsoft's stock has gone from $40 to $400 which is almost 10x the old unit price. I don't think it would jump that high only because of something unrelated like windows or another product launch. All of this info combined with that just seems so crazy. I really hope Halo can survive all these ignorant leaders.
I can only think that this is some kind of weird long con psychology experiment where 343/microsoft/halostudios are tasked with seeing how much you can piss of players of a franchise they love. Like how far can you push the community and still have them come back. Its the only thing that makes any sense to me. Its some weird fucked up psych experiment.
Found the actual smart person in these comments. Business psychology is literally about squeezing your consumers MENTALLY to make them accept inferior products so that you spend less and less and less money making things. Of course, if you apply this to its logical conclusion you will lose your entire consumer base because the product will not be something people actually want. Most CEOs do not understand actual economics they only do business school BS Thus the only video games worth playing are games that have not been around long enough for companies to fuck them up or games whose original development studios have complete control away from the corporate boardroom
Been playing Halo since I can remember. Me, my dad and my sister (who has now passed away), used to all sit down and play together on the weekend and make some of our best memories playing multiplayer and the campaigns. It will forever be a memory I charish and something I hold onto when I think of my sister. Hence, my profile being the Rookie, as ODST was the game my sister and I decided to play non-stop for a summer one year as we loved the addition of Firefight. Alongside all the memories I'm sure we all share with this franchise (Bungie era), I have also always just conisdered myself one of the biggest nerds and fans of Halo (which Im sure everyone on here would consider themselves as well) I say all of this and now share that I haven't touched any Halo platform in over 8 months... I just can't. Between the show, how they treat Halo Infinite, Halo MCC, their fans and now this?! Why would I want to give support to a company that treats their games and their life-long fans this poorly? Why play a game where I have to wait 2 years after its release for content thats been in every previous Halo game to finally be added? Why play a game where the only ones making incredible content, are the Forge community members who then don't even get the love and support from Microsoft that they deserve? A greedy company that treats their fans like absolute trash... that's what microsoft has become... So again, why give time to a company that seems like they want to throw away old fans and just branch out to the newer generation (which also isn't appearing to enjoy their content anyway) It's just sad and really hurts to see such an amazing series and franchise be treated with such a lack of effort and love that it has turned into Microsoft Vs The Fans. I like to think the real story of Master Chief and Halo ended with Halo 3, maybe Halo 4 but I don't even want to give any credit to 343 at this point... It's just that sad and pathetic what it has become. Appreciate and love what you do Mint, and I will always come back to watch your videos no matter what!
5:25 this puts to bed new halo games having even the slightest amount of dignity, passion, quality, or fun. microsoft will not do anything that isnt greedy until they dont exist as a company, if halo is to have any hope of being good again then halo should not be owned by microsoft

after working for a big bloated company myself here's my theory: decisions are made by the 343 employees with the primary goal of preserving their jobs and making themselves _seem_ valuable to the higher ups at microsoft. the idea is that if they allow/support the community and modders making amazing content, their jobs may appear redundant and 343 management is super insecure about that sort of stuff while being part of a huge toxic mega-corp like ms. pleasing the fans and even making microsoft money are just lower on the priority list compared to self preservation. even though leaning into community content would probably be the key to increasing halo's popularity and making ms a ton of $$$
Now I really want there to be a chief/Doomslayer crossover. the grunts would be outright TERRIFIED. and i'm pretty sure even the brutes would be partly shocked by how easily slayer could kill them without ammo.
Don’t worry guys I’m sure Pierre has all of our best interests at heart even tho MCC devs said he took credit for the work they did in fixing MCC (the thing everyone praises him for)
1:43 so wait, maybe this means that they're aspirations are to say "hey, this isnt acceptable to be the ONLY content being released, we need to release better stuff as Devs"
Doesn’t matter. They should be better devs AND support fan creation. This is why I left Xbox for PC. All normal game devs these days allow modding except for a few console stragglers.
This is probably because of lore reasons, the Doom crossover, mostly because Halo Studios still thinks of the multiplayer as canon. However, it still sucks.
That works only if the tv show they okayed wasnt in an alternate timeline, which it fully was. They just dont want to greenlight something that isnt their idea
@@gamgee3393After how ridiculous that show was, I'm convinced they just don't get it. Halo's feel was always a cool one, the way Joseph would narrate when showing off Halo 2 and how the audience digs it, is what I mean. I mean. Yes same, but alsp bungies just as bad anymore too. The whoel industry is just disgusting anymore😢
@ it’s cause it’s a whole new generation of people, it’s the not same enthusiastic developers who wanted to make a game for a passion and not for a quick buck.
World of Warcraft used to be the same. You could find the devs in game. Now everything is a product to be sold.
If the Bungie of today was making Halo, it would be just as bad, if not worse.
I think at this point, we as a community should boycott the entire franchise. If they don’t want us, then we don’t want them.

Edit: thanks for all the kind words gents, I appreciate it and you certainly put into perspective the real reason we make these maps. For people to have fun. I still get tickled by how many people have played and enjoyed Plunderland, and 343 can’t ruin that.

We do not.

They hate chief 😞😔
How in the WORLD would Microsoft buy the rights to DOOM and say “NO” to a Master Chief and Doom Slayer collab?!?! They even had Master Chief and Doom Guy together in a Community Post back when they acquired them 😭 😭 😭
It’s straight up COMICAL how terrible they are, it’s so baffling it feels like parody.
I think it's just all of it together. Any one of these events in a bubble I could probably explain away, but all of it is just ridiculous.
Nobody really sees what it comes down to.
Elon loved halo bill gates hates musl and hired a bunch of dei hires
They already crossed over in Fortnite
It’s probably because Microsoft sees Amazon as direct competition and therefore won’t allow their IPs on a competitive platform? Stupid I know

Are you slow? It took 23 seconds for rebranded halo to have a purple haired black woman talking at me.
It’s so jover, Spartans.
It’s been a wild ride over the last 20 years, and I’m so glad I was here for the peak days of 2, 3 and Reach; what an amazing time it was.
Sad to see it end like this,
Those were the golden age of gaming! It's shame it's all been pissed away.
I’m convinced we will never have a good thing happen to Halo ever again especially when the very company that controls it literally works tirelessly to destroy their own game. You have to wonder why???
The people running it are bitter and jealous of others' achievements; they want to destroy the old and replace it with something new.
Honestly I think it’s leadership at 343i/Halo Studios. Somebody, or somebodies in positions of power, really hate seeing content done better than what they can direct.
Can someone say petty tyrant?
Well, the new games their working on might be really good, and if they are, the rest can build from there
@questioned54hah or they might release the exact same slop these people have cooked for 15 years now. I know where I’d put my money lmao
The devs are all feminists and gay communists. What do you expect.
as someone who hasn't owned an xbox in a long time its honestly depressing seeing how poorly theyre handling such a beloved franchise. genuinely just shooting themselves in the foot and sticking it to the entire community for no reason. honestly makes me uninterested in any future halo projects if this is where their priorities lie.
Part of me wonders if Microsoft just wants to let halo die. I’ve been a fan for years and other than going back through the books i havent had anything worth looking forward to since bungie. There’s so much that could be done with the halo franchise in a gaming setting. So many missed opportunities.
I can’t see any other reason. They’re doing the same with gears of war
its such a baffling level of apathy that its like they dont even care to let it die or make it live
The studio should change their name one more time, that will really fix these issues!
Name it 'Shit Studios'. Very telling.
"Prophet of Truth Development" is more fitting. 😆

Why... that's brilliant! Microsoft, hire this man!
“Tone deaf of your audience” sums up XBOX in general since since 2013
Stop supporting the franchise.
I'm 31. I grew up playing Halo, it was my childhood. I gave up on the franchise after Halo 4. It's about time everyone else turned their back on the fake Halo games too.
The real games are Reach, 1-3 and ODST.
Everything else is fake to me.
Dont forget OG halo wars
If you still wanna play Halo, here's how:
Halo Custom Edition, Project Cartographer, and Eldewrito.
Do not support anything Microsoft.
“Fake halo games” how petty and pathetic are you?
@Nobelsix-li1qg it’s a completely valid and understandable opinion though. LOTR books not written by Tolkien wouldn’t be accepted as canon, so why not the same with video games? The original authors are gone, their original visions and direction for the story shall not be followed, therefore the story is over.
Any written product that has been put down by one writer and picked up by another is fanfiction. It can be good fanfiction - in rare occasions even better than the real thing - but it’s still fanfiction.
@Nobelsix-li1qg💯 let the door hit em where it hurts
If you love something, sometimes it’s okay to let it go. Halo is fun. The community is fun. What is not okay is to keep dishing out money to a company that doesn’t care. Xbox needs to end. Halo’s legendary status should be left alone. We’ve had a good run.
I'm more excited about mods on MCC than modern Halo releases.
I agree wholeheartedly. It’s time for Microsoft to leave the video game business. They’re too consumed by greed, ironically, to realize they’re leaving money on the table by refusing to just do right by their fans.
@@Arander92okay as bad as microsoft is id rather sony have the competition
I left Halo infinite to play Space Marine 2. That is 100 times better.
Do hope we at least get a DOOM episode
They didn’t want the Next Level episode to outshine the show, because it would’ve been 10x better
They also probably see Amazon as direct competition and therefore don’t want their IP stuff featured on anything Amazon.
@PackHunter117 which would be understandable. . . . If they scrape together even a somewhat competent show.
they dont even _care_ about the show
everybody’s main takeaway from this should be that microsoft execs dont even care about halo looking good, or bad, or ..
I genuinely do not understand the illogical thought process behind almost every gaming corporation of seeing very clearly what a fanbase (CUSTOMERS) want, and just... flat out refusing to do it.
let's show we can make the next Halo release a Concord if this continues
Why would you do that? If the next Halo is a good game, making it a failure will, in no way, make any Microsoft executive more fond of halo as a community or business. Dont be daft please.
@questioned54 no corporate entitiy is ever fond of their IP, they are fond of the money it makes.
A good game will sell no matter what, but at the end of the day the community that supports it is what will determine if it keeps making money or not.
Halo Studios has already shown they have nothing to do with what the community does, this will eventually lead to the next release's failure, whether there be incentive to intentionally sabotage it or not
money is the only language that talks when it comes to companies, if they want to succeed they better listen to who they are offering their products, else no one will be there to lend a hand, we already have a Ubisoft
@questioned54 there is no way the next game is going to be good😂
i honestly think they have a thing against the MCC due to the fact its a bungie games collection. and maybe its a direct slap to their face when its succeeding.
makes no sense why they haven't added halo 5 or infinite to it otherwise. i could be wrong, just how i feel.
but one guy in your comments previous video was strongly defending halo studios and saying they were more than a rebrand. but they need to earn the trust, which they are failing to do.
if they were more than a rebrand i doubt we would be seeing these issues, especially with infinite content. unless there is a real puppetmaster.
4 is in it, and Reach's post-release multiplayer content could be considered 343 as well
They couldn't keep monetizing it (the community revulsed at the idea of paid spartan points) and instead of coming up with a different solution they just stopped work on it
@@Decretum Yeah, I mean... adding all the features people want isn't free.
Add in the fact that apparently Halo 5's code was a nightmare to work with (apparently the reason they never released it on PC), so bolting it onto the Frankenstein kludge of the MCC probably will introduce all new bugs... and so a new round of buxfixing, which will require more time and money spent on the MCC which they won't sell more copies of because I doubt anyone looks at a Halo compilation and decides the lack of Halo 5 is a problem...
people need to stop adding emotion to microsoft and its execs like this bc they just _dont care_
they are entirely apathetic . theyre like robots . theyre not emotional, theyre not angry at bungie games, or anything . they just ..
It's ONI pulling the strings. We're just insurgents to them.
Most CEOs do not understand actual economics they only do business school BS
Thus the only video games worth playing are games that have not been around long enough for companies to fuck them up or games whose original development studios have complete control away from the corporate boardroom
Alongside all the memories I'm sure we all share with this franchise (Bungie era), I have also always just conisdered myself one of the biggest nerds and fans of Halo (which Im sure everyone on here would consider themselves as well)
I say all of this and now share that I haven't touched any Halo platform in over 8 months...
Damn Sorry dude. God Bless Your Sister and dad 🙏
You know, if ms keeps pushing away fans like this, there aren’t gonna be any left pretty soon.
5:25 this puts to bed new halo games having even the slightest amount of dignity, passion, quality, or fun. microsoft will not do anything that isnt greedy until they dont exist as a company, if halo is to have any hope of being good again then halo should not be owned by microsoft
It's to the point where they could sell the Halo IP to Sony or Capcom or even SEGA and I don't think I would even care anymore.

Problem is most of the fans even collectively won't have even close to enough to buy the franchise. Wealth distribution is pretty fked up atm and what we could have to offer would be but pennies to a corporation like Microsoft.
So the franchise that made the Xbox popular is being punished for the stupidity of Microsoft heads that probably don't belong in the company let alone deciding how there game section does business.
i have said this alot on tiktok that microsoft hates halo and the community and i have seen it first hand when i heard it from someone else. which is sad but true since they said microsoft did well say that halo is a great way for us to hire new people as halo is just a burden to us that we just hate. so keep that in mind when speaking to halo studios or microsoft about halo again.

You can still play together on 360.
Is MCC not halo?
The downfall should be studied and documented for historians lol
This is the reason why I’m planning to hop back into Warframe. At least Digital Extremes TREATS THEIR COMMUNITY RIGHT!!! Do I still like Halo, of course. But, Halo Studios is dropping the ball AGAIN!!!
Also, warframe just released an update with warframe 1999, it's looking real good right now, the warframe community's eating well.

Yeah. I left halo after 4 and have stuck with warframe since for my Sci-fi fix. Absolutely a beast of a game and a grind like none other that I've experienced, but I just hit ten years with them and 4.5k hours and don't regret a second.

How to kill your franchise 101
I haven't touched Halo since the split with Bungie and I have no regrets
No other studio working in the gaming industry today would say something as narrow minded and arrogant as “content created by our community isn’t real content unless it’s done within the walls of our studio and a price tag can be stuck on it”
Would be a PR nightmare if they did. Honestly more restructure needs to happen at HS if there are individuals working there who think like that.
it is 343 studios - of course they didn't change. They still hate the franchise that bungie created, they still hate the community.
I remember back in the halo 5 days my buddy made a small machinima with ~8 players, was invited to 343 hq by French and gifted an exclusive olive (pig) helmet in game. The fact 343 is unwilling to interact with their community on the basic level anymore is honestly a slap in the face to everyone.
Ego of corporate types are getting out of hand 😂
One hopes that the executives of modern gaming get the UHC treatment.
6:14 lol, hopefully this will either mean it will be allowed or that they will support the forgers in the ways mentioned.
We have been saying this for years, but the IP just needs to go to a different studio.
It's already at a different studio, clearly Microsoft has been the source of frustrations recently
@questioned54 Always has been.
There's this guy that's a 343i programmer that comes to my store pretty often with his kids. We usually shoot the shit abt our mutual frustration/love towards 3D modeling. (I make avatars for vrchat in my spare time)
Idk what this has to do with the controversy, I just wanted to share lol
after working for a big bloated company myself here's my theory: decisions are made by the 343 employees with the primary goal of preserving their jobs and making themselves _seem_ valuable to the higher ups at microsoft. the idea is that if they allow/support the community and modders making amazing content, their jobs may appear redundant and 343 management is super insecure about that sort of stuff while being part of a huge toxic mega-corp like ms.
pleasing the fans and even making microsoft money are just lower on the priority list compared to self preservation. even though leaning into community content would probably be the key to increasing halo's popularity and making ms a ton of $$$
odds are we're just going to go back to playing Eldewrito
Microsoft / 343 / HStudios try not to kill off remaining halo audience challenge (Impossible)
How did we go from bad to worse in the span of, like, A WEEK?
Yeah I agree, I think people are being over confrontational about this
Doesn’t matter.
They could just be fucking hacks and call it the Argent Timeline.
But the Fortnite crossover is ok?
That works only if the tv show they okayed wasnt in an alternate timeline, which it fully was. They just dont want to greenlight something that isnt their idea
Apparently so!
@@gamgee3393After how ridiculous that show was, I'm convinced they just don't get it. Halo's feel was always a cool one, the way Joseph would narrate when showing off Halo 2 and how the audience digs it, is what I mean.
