This is what I want to do to a pair of black denim that my guy friend was throwing out. This has made me excited to get this done because he 6'5 and so the skirt is going to be very long and I now know to make the waist smaller.
You can also cut a slit on each side of the inner waist and put a safety pin on elastic to feed it through, then either sew that up when it’s synched in how you want it, or cut slits into the elastic and sew buttons to be able to change the size, like in little kids clothes. (Idk why they don’t do it in adult clothes, we definitely need that for thanksgiving dinner bloating!)

May I ask why you sewed the pockets ? Nice tutorial!
Because the pants being so tight on my hip made the pocket bunch up. Sewing it up helped it to lay flat. You may not have to do that part
