Kid actually made a smart move imo. He had the piece lead but was way behind on time. He could've played better and won in his final 30 seconds but he might have ran out of time before getting there. Was smart to start conceding pieces and go for the draw. An adult might have been able to compose and figure out how to win in that time crunch but he was smart to go for the draw rather than risk the loss. Maybe I missed a big error that would've allowed him to win in that final 30 seconds but I didn't see it in real time so I won't criticize him if he didn't.
You know what? If chess is like this, I might join in. Because it involves trashtalking and something like it feels like a reborn game. Add the talking in chess and it will be a great hit.

it looked to me that the kid drew on purpose. I cannot believe he didn't know how to win that endgame. a 1400 player would easily have won, let alone 2000+
I like how he's entertaining the kids, but the trash talking is actually educational in a lot of ways. Telling them they're making a mistake with a master player would be psychological, but saying it here is educational, teaching him to think twice about it. When he says 'give me your knight' and turns it into a song, he's making it clear 'hey this is my strategy, you'd better watch out for it.' It's a good way of teaching without making your opponent too anxious, and I think especially with kids it's important. Kids deserve respect in all things, but especially in chess.
The kid needed to push the b pawn after the first couple checks. Forced Carl to get his queen involved and after you trap or pin it pushing the kingside pawns win the game

This child threw away a winning position! Black pawn takes h5 is a terrible mistake better when rook check white king he blocked it with rook sacrificing it then creating a good 3 pawn structure as the pawns advance and the king defending the 3 pawns.
