- Filmed on July 17, 2016: The elevators from the Historic Tower are from 1904, and the Pacific Tower ones are from 1972. Slap-on mod in the 2000's, and finally a Compass mod that took SIX YEARS! (2009-2015). Anyways, I hope you enjoy a video of these famous elevators here in this beautiful hotel. I want lastly want to give a HUGE CREDIT to TH-cam user NationalElevator for letting me borrow his video of the Pacific Tower elevators!!!!! :D

Very nice. I've never seen Otis destination dispatch before
The elevators goes to 12 are the low rise elevators. But, the elevators goes to 31 and 32 are the high rise elevators
Next time use the handicapped button when it asks for the room card etc. I love hearing "please present security credential" and "this terminal is not in service" etc in the Otis voice.
7:17 it said at the top of Car C that it was going to go to 30. My recommendation is to watch those indicators at the top next time and see if it will travel any higher. Keep in mind, you can only ride these between floors 4 and 31. If u go lower that 4, it will ask for a room card. Or maybe you’ll be lucky and 32 will be open as that’s the restaurant up there.

But 4 is locked so you do have to wait til it answers a call or moves around to answer calls quicker. If it moves around to answer calls quicker, you have to hit the door open for it to let u out at a floor. And from there, go to 4 and then 31. If you go above 2, it will accept the 4th floor and 31 without a keycard
And the Pacific Tower Elevators have an awesome view

BTW, These were installed in 1904! Judging to that, they were probably used to have Otis Small black buttons! This hotel and the elevators are 112 years old!!

You also can take the service lifts of both towers.
Your lucky you made it to the top with no key card access!!! It asked me for a key when I was there!!!
I found my very first Otis Compass Elevators at the Park Avenue West Tower in Downtown!! BTW, they're Otis Compass Plus elevator.

And I just saw the car you rode was going to 30 after you got out of the elevator to the first floor. You could have gotten the CLOSEST to 31
This is a tip for next time if you go the the Westin St. Francis PACIFIC Tower

You can take the elevator to 4 and get out and then hit 31 on the keypad there and it will allow you to do so. Sometimes you have to stay in the elevator until it travels to another floor either for it to answer a call or move to different floors to answer calls quicker if someone was to put in a call a few seconds later. Or OF COURSE, ask permission. That's what Skylar did obviously to get a key card.

arent there 31 floors
In the Pacific tower there are (it goes 1-32 but skips 13), in the Historic tower there are 14 floors but the 5 main elevators only go up to 12.
