Cocaine and dancing was my life back then. It was like high impact aerobics. When I danced in bars I would make sure I had a big space on the dance floor. Sometimes people would move away just to watch me. Looking back I must have looked like a speed freak. LOL
i use to live for those dancers when i was a kid. Those outfits and the Black girl with the long braids. Darcelle I believe her name is.

Does it get any more 80s than this? It's all about the spandex. It looks like most of these people did ballet before they came on Solid Gold. They certainly had the bodies for it and it served them well on the show.

Paula and Helene left the show after 2 seasons August 1982.
Janeen Best & Lucinda Dickey would replace them beginning 3rd season September 11th 1982.
Latin dancer name is Michael Perea and Pat Benatar lookalike dancer is Laura Melton. Both appeared in Episodes 3 & 4 only

By-the-way, Darcel Wynne, the lady with the braids, used to be the principal dancer and one of the lead choreographers for SOLID GOLD... I think she's still has a dance school, or ran one in later years or once worked at one.
It was diverse for the culture of the time. It's today that is absolutely NOT diverse. You'd think we live in sub-Saharan Africa now based on today's representation.

If it’s the one with short black hair her name is Laura Melton, she only appeared on the show in episodes 3 & 4 and was replaced by Kahea Bright
