- This week I had a chance to hop aboard The Pacific Angler for the Halibut King Derby. We were team Devil fish against Hammerdown and Reel Addiction. We had Captain Ross to lead the way! We launched out of Alameda and booked it to J & P to get bait. We made it just in the nick of time! Then we headed to South Bay for some pretty awesome action! We were hooking up left and right, even getting a triple hook up! We had full boat limits for 6 people of both Halibut and Striped Bass. The biggest fish on our boat was 34” however Reel Addiction had us with a 36” barn door! Congratulations!! We had one fish which was close to the target 27” for the derby. Hammerdown got us on that one, we were 1/8” too short. Congratulations Hammerdown! It’s ok, we beat them to the dock though!! Lol. We had a blast! It was an epic time catching fish and making memories! A huge Thank you to Devilfish and Hammerdown for putting this together! Thank you, Captain Ross of The Pacific Angler for putting us on some great action! I also wanted to give a shout out to the Captains of all the boats, Thank you! As always, Thank you for Watching!! Nice action. Question. I know a 6-pk costs somewhere between $2.5k & 3.5k. What is the typical tip amount given at the end of the trip?
Thanks for watching! Its really up to the person but i personally go with anything in the 10% to 20% of my cost for the trip. Also most of the 6 packs charters are around $1,500 for the day in my area.Thanks again. Tight lines
What you think of the raider boat and quality and the way it rides ?
Thanks for watching. I personally was very happy with the quality of the boat overall. The ride was very comfortable but it was a calm day. I’m looking into a bigger boat and Raider boats are on the top of my list so far.
