As a twenty two year old, nothing new came for my throat and I am obsessed with it. Phoebe and Taylor's voices sound so hauntingly beautiful together and the lyrics break my heart 😭
The London mention on Message on the bottle was referring to "someone who shall not be named" who was in London at the time.
To understand the context of Forever Winter, it's helpful to listen to Taylor's short award speech at the 2010 BMI Awards... such a sad story 😔

I think Message in a Bottle & The Very First Night are both about Harry. They don't fit in with red vibe overall & then they weren't in same phase in relationship by time 1989 came out. I also feel that Nothing New & Forever Winter were both a bit too dark for red or maybe just a bit too painful for her still & she didn't want that to be there & have to perform it all the time maybe? Run was apparently the first song Ed & Taylor ever wrote together. I love it, but I don't think the label wanted 2 tracks on the album to both feature Ed. Idk reason for choosing Everything Has Changed over Run. I Bet You Think About Me is definitely about Jakey G. He grew up with money in Beverly Hills etc. It was also an excuse he used along with age thing for dumping her, is what I think. Babe let us know Jake apparently cheated on her is what I've heard & also I think the reason behind Better Man maybe? Just my opinions, correct me if I'm wrong guys. Great video btw. nothing new can be viewed in the terms of a relationship, or I choose to view it as a song about her career and how the industry treats women by just quickly using them for shorts period of time and then discards of them when they're not new anymore (similar to her miss Americana speech if you saw that)
