I feel very privileged to have watched this beautiful piece of history. I first came across this song when the film "Hear my song" with Ned Beatty came on TV late one night never having heard of Joseph Locke. I loved it so much I bought the DVD some years later. Not realising that any TV footage was available, this morning I typed Hear My Song into TH-cam and found lots of bits of footage of different songs of his. THANKYOU to all of you who have posted these. You've made my day. What a voice.
This man was in his early 70s on this TV program. What a voice . Can you imagine most of these modern day cretins who masquerade as professional singers - attempting this . One piano as backing and singing live. Truly brilliant .
makes me so incredibly happy yet so unbelievably sad thinking bout my grandad seranading my gran both deeply in love after fifty years together God rest them both xxx
Thanks for putting this video on. My Dad used to play Josef Locke when I was little, but I forgot all about him till I heard one of his tracks chosen on D.I.D recently. He sounds much stronger without an orchestra.
I'd love to get the lead sheet to this song. I sing/play with a seniors band for seniors ... I know they'd love this song ... and dance up a storm to the latin beat!!! Any leads on getting the lead sheets??? Bob
I only wish a softer musical backing had been used at that time when Josef Locke was his seventies, and not someone banging rapidly on a keyboard "showing off his skills" The tempo was much too fast for that song. Josef Locke wasn't being accompanied; he was racing just to keep up.

A consumate performer! Even my 21 year old grand daughter is "wowed" by his music. Many thanx for this
Josef, was in his prime, a fabulous tenor. He actually stood in for Beniamino Gigli at the Albert Hall in 1955

@SuperCulloden - Well said SuperCulloden, I couldn't agree more!
Jeepers, is that a young Derek Davis in the background?
