That many countries' citizens have responded very badly to the influx of large number of immigrants / refugees for example, is a fact.

After 5 minutes of this ridiculous display of stupidity I asked him, "wouldn't it be easier to just reach over & turn it on using your finger?" His reply was, " that would be too easy. You see we PhD's are taught to push the envelope of innovation, so that's what I'm doing." He never succeeded in this, allthough he added a loud humming to the attempt. I left him to his stupidity!

Both France and the Uk, and Europe and NA generally, have ignored the concerns of their respective citizens. That is why sitting governments are being toppled. The voters are PUNISHING the government of the day by NOT voting for them, or, in the case of France, possibly interference by the President to influence the outcome. Few governments attempt to govern their countries well; they are more concerned about clinging to power!!

The problem is that many of the people coming in are in fact refugees. So, "legally", you can only limit them so much.
Plus, there's the more basic question of "Who is responsible for those countries being broken in the first place?"
Put sanctions on a poor country, and you shouldn't be surprised if it falls apart and produces a ton of refugees trying to escape disaster.

Labour and the Conservatives have pulled the UK Left over time to the point that the Centre is now on the Right. 80% of all voters in the UK did not vote for Labour. The UK voting system (First Past The Post) is not a proportional system so with less than 34% of the vote Labour are able to claim a landslide victory. In a proportional system the UK would need a coalition government. If you accept that proportional is more democratic then you have to accept that the UK currently has a minority government but I don't expect any people in any other foreign country to start protesting for electoral reform in the UK. France are (in my opinion) worse than the UK, their two round voting system enables tactical voting in the second round to ensure that (in this case) the Right wing party cannot take power despite having won the first round. The EU has lots of requirements that members need to meet yet despite the fact that most EU countries use proportional voting systems, for some reason a common standard of voting is not pushed by the EU which makes me believe that both countries use their respective systems to ensure that only one of two parties can ever form a government and as that suits the EU for the UK & France (when the UK was still a member of the EU) the issue of an EU wide standard never got pushed.

How far right or left someone views things as depends on where they sit on the political spectrum. "Stalin to the left of me, Hitler to the right, here I am stuck in the middle of you." basically.

What's wrong with you? In both cases (UK and France), the people voted to REJECT Conservative governments, because they didn't like what they experienced. Anyone with half a brain would recognize it as a wake-up call! 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀ What exactly is difficult in this for you to understand, Mr Forbes????

Moral and Godlessness is what is destroying people and their nations. The Governments are a reflection of the people themselves.........."2nd Chronicles in the Holy Bible there is a verse that reads, “ if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” ................here in lies the only solution but people are too prideful and arrogant to accept it.

This is clearly very biased, you are just upset because it demonstrates that there is a class consciousness and you don't want your class touched by social policies and taxes. You want a centrist government serving, just conservative enough but not too conservative so your interests as a capital owner are met, you view everything through the lenses of money, not through humanity. It is very clear to see your agenda with this, maybe title it something better lol.

if all you care about is pay per mile system, but not the other glaring problems that the conservative government left your country to inherit then you have a problem. If you're working class, or have been working class you are betraying your own people. Think of the children in winter without food, a more empathic government is going to do more about that, more social safety and networks to ensure people are being looked after.
