Such a win to stay in a book for the whole year for real though. My goal for this coming year is to commit to a predetermined travelers notebook system for the entire year. Using this video as proof that it can, in fact, be done 😂

I’m such a fan of lived-in journals/planners! Beautiful spreads are so fun to look at, but a journal with pen changes and crossed out words etc. always feels more true to life. Thanks for sharing :)

Leuchtturm notebooks are very popular in Europe (especially in Germany) and paperback is my favorite format as well! Just the right size for journaling but also for planning. I had Leuchtturm weekly planners (paperback) for years but this year I discovered Hobonichi Weeks and I'm excited to use it for the first time! :)

you're going to love it! Hobonichi paper is quite different than Leuchtturm but imo much smoother :)

I totally relate to not being able to finish hardcover journals. I have been eyeing the sterling ink booklets and the passport notebook from Sweet Freckled Designs. I’m a sucker for the paper and the embossed sparkle icon. 😅

From what I understand, thermal paper does best if it isn’t exposed to heat, sunlight or moisture. So if you are bringing your book around with you, it may be tough to preserve receipts or anything printed with one of those portable thermal printers.
Enjoyed your flip throughs and your feelings on the different books you tried this year. I was using A5 Notebook Therapy bullet journals for a little over a year, but couldn’t keep up the energy required to make use of such large pages - so I switched to A6 ring binders, which has been working for a couple of months. I use an A5 Stalogy for long form journaling, and now I have my TN for health/symptom tracking. I wanted a Hobonichi, but I’m a Sunday-start kinda girl, so I just couldn’t see one working for me, sadly.

This is interesting, because I left the notebook in my house and it never saw light or moisture etc really. Maybe just that particular type, but I'm going to keep an eye on my thermal paper inserts from now on to see what happens.
Thank you for your detailed comment, I appreciate it! I agree the A5 is simply too big to commit to, unless you have a lot to say, haha. I recently found out that Hobonichi makes an A6 that's blank, so maybe you'd like that? I definitely have my eye on it.. hehe

@@adeliafrances I've definitely considered that one! For long form journaling, I actually don't mind A5, since I like to put in photos and ephemera and all. But for planning/bullet journaling, it felt like a lot of pressure to fill all that space with decoration or useful elements, and I just didn't need it.
