- The new HUAWEI Mate X3 is probably the best foldable Smartphone in 2023 even though it doesnt come with GMS. What a great device!

The Huawei Mate X3 is a truly impressive piece if engineering. Huawei managed to make the slimmest foldable with the X3 and its also ultralight. It weights just 239g (the Feathered Sand model is 241g) and the screens are the best I've seen on a foldable. Further there is IPX8 protection and much more! Whats your opinion ?

Super expensive... But going to keep my eyes on it within the next 2 years when price goes down then I'm striking. Phones are becoming 5 - 10 year devices now. I'm still using the Huawei mate 20 x from 2018 today

Does the phone work with the GSM ATT bands in the US? I've owned GSM unlocked phone like the Razer phone before ATT adopted it and it worked like absolute shit.

What the situation on software updates,and security updates.
My mate 20pro UK purchased late 2018 had a small software update last month,but security updates was May 22.
I cant complain phone still in excellent condition,So the Huawei x3 is top of list
Any idea how to have the Always on Display actually always on? Not have to tap to show it? I have chinese and Global version and neither will let me change that setting..
this is by far the best foldable period im in the us and preorderd the pixel fold and will be ordering this one instead. Great review by the way ive used huawei devices in the past and loved them all. Im hearing the us sanctions are taking a little step back too so hopefully they eventually allow them back in because we surley need the competition over here with samsung running this with their foldables here and pale in comparision to phones like this.
If it had google natively, 5g, 8k video then yes it probably would be the best foldable. I would choose it over a samsung fold or pixel fold 100% but no google and no 5g....absolutely trash.

HarmonyOS is only for Chinese market, but it is basically the same.

I really love the review but what I'm missing in every review is desktop setup over docking station. Supported resolutions, emui desktop environment, performance, settings in desktop etc.

How to automatically turn off the display when you fold it?
Just like Fold 4.. when you close it or fold it.
The main display turns off also
the last version software on Mate x2 had this setting, I don't know why the hell Huawei removes this setting on Mate X3😅😅😅
The X5 has a setting that let's you turn off when closing.
This huawei foldable actually so underated, I can't imagine what if they can still use google maybe this phone will blow the internet

I honestly don't miss 5G. When switching back and forth between my X5 and the the Fold, to me it is not that much of a difference in real world use.
I have this device and love it. Samsung software is better for split screens. Also, VoLTE with tmobile does not work, so no Internet with tmobile in the USA when on phone calls. I hear back from tmobile on Saturday, as they never called me back 2 months ago, so I called them last night. This phone would be perfect if you can get most apps to split horizontally. Horizontal split screen only works when phone is closed for most apps, everything else is vertical split down the middle with a screen on the left or right. Hopefully Samsung catches up on the hardware side, since their software is better than Huawei right now. I just wish there wasn't a VoLTE issue with tmobile

The Huawei mate x5 fold is phenomenal. It has micro SD card, every camera is incredible, 3 to 5 day battery, stylus pen works every screen , big front screen, emergency satellite crash etc it's amazing and I'm a big Samsung fan

Why can't those mobile phones manufacturers create the foldable mobile phone using the same size similar to size of the flat phone that has been their principal device on the market. For example Samsung may adap the size of its Galaxy S23 Ultra and with the same size just add up another handphone attach it with the principal handphone the S23 Ultra making a foldable fold that's more practical, Therefore the the size of the Z Fold will be double the size of the Galaxy S23 Ultra when open. Samsung made a wrong move by creating foldable handphone that is smaller in size like Samsung did on the Z Fold series. Honor has made an ideal foldable handphone, the Honor Magic V2 that is now seen as the best foldable on the market. The size of the Honor Magic V2 when fold it is the same size as its principal flat handphone. Not only that the Honor Magic V2 is really so thin and it's pretty light. So comfortable. Users will use the Honor Magic V2 like ordinary handphone utilizing the main screen as its size is similar to Honor principal flat handphone. @@TechMagnet it's still a good review don't get me wrong but you said it's waterproof it isn't, it's water resistant , my Huawei mate 50 pro is ip68 dust and water resistant which a higher rating and this has developed and issue with water inside one of camera lens
ip 68 norme is 30 min under 1.5meter . I test it with my p30pro and it works very good. You have an option of sound inside water when you film . So .... it is very good . Look at test on youtube about ip68 tests
