Stunning Walnut Bowl From A Stubborn Blank, Turning It Wet And Letting It Warp, Amazing Figure! 🤩🤩

- In this video, I turn a thin bowl from a wet blank that I cut out of a Black Walnut log behind the shed. The wood was harder than usual and turned out to be quite figured. I used my 1/2” The Cleaner bowl gouge and my custom made scraper to get great cuts and an awesome finish right off the tool with minimum sanding required. I finish it with Mahoney’s Walnut Oil and buff with Ack’s Wood Paste for a deep natural luster. The result is a gorgeous bowl with the light sap wood on one side, stunning quarter-sawn grain in the middle and absolutely amazing figure on the other side. One of my favorites for sure. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.
Have a nice day.

60 degrees. 😊
Beautiful bowl, great grain. Entirely too much scraping to get the end result.
Thanks you, John. 😊😊 yes, more scraping than I usually do, but this piece of walnut took that tool the best this time. 😊
Sorry for the negative comment, I have been known to scrape a bit too.
