Got the same bench but I braced mine with some 2x2 in between the legs and behind it on the pegboard. Also I braced the top shelf with some 2x2 and now it not flimsy and it holds some serious weight.

could you tell me the inside dimensions of the bottom shelf.....my local HF doesn't have a display and need to know how much space i have to play with down there..want to see how big of a tool chest i can fit underneath

You did a lot with the bench. I do Ike the changing colored lights in the light cove i actually purchased the HF wood workbench that i use for small projects it too was a PITA. To put together But for the money is a good deal i am a retired Woodworker by trade. That is between shops at the moment i do plan on building a much better bench for my next shop and ill probably just put the HF one in a garage or extra room in my house for very light duty jobs like watch repair and/ or working on small electronics ? That bench has a few drawers that would be perfect for small tools and other junk
