Maire Brennan‘s voice ❤❤❤ is so beautiful- and the musicians are excellent. Remembering these beautiful times in Donegal, when I was young…🇮🇪
I heard Clannad live in November 1979. They were great! I’ll remember that night forever.
They were playing at the parish in Staten Island where Fr. Charlie Coen was a pastor, and Fr. Charlie and his brother Jack opened the show on concertina and flute.
I ran into a friend there and then we went up to the Glocca Morra Pub on the Upper East Side to hear Joe Burke and Andy McGann play button accordion and fiddle. Joe was so excited that I was playing music in a Ceili band in Denver with Packie Flanagan from Mayo (God help us) that he wanted to introduce me to two of his journalist friends, Pete Hamill and Jimmy Breslin. They were so great to talk to and wouldn’t let me buy a round no matter how much I objected. (They knew the skinny young fiddler from out West had a very thin wallet without even seeing it)
As they now say, the craic was 90, and I’ll fondly remember that night forever.
Oh - wow! Remembering having seen some seconds of exactly this in the RTÈ- (or TG4-) docu 'Moya' from about three years ago! Thx a lot!
Epic, there’s my uncle!!
Amazing. Cannot get enough Clannad. Go raibh maith agat.
I treasure this song.
A lively lovely tune 🎶Moya's beautiful singing of course, and congratulations to her, Donegal Person of the Year 2023! 😊👏
Is Enya (Eithne) there at 1:17 for a few seconds and in view towards the end at 3:02? 💗
Thank you for posting 😊
Fantastic! Hup Donegal! 💚
This a Jacobite tune? I hear France and Spain. It actually means Woman of the House I think. Edit: Both are correct.
"O woman of the house, what ails you?"
Is that Jim Lockhart on flute ?
It's Pól Ó Braonáin
Thanks for that .@@zanderixx6322
