sly cooper, jak and daxter, ratchet and clank and old god of war games are for me all series that deserve modern day remakes and decent remakes like crash, spyro and demon souls
I still have my original digital version of sly cooper thieves in time for Playstation 3 on my original fully functional Playstation 3. I first got into sly cooper on the Playstation 2 and followed the series from there. I agree with you that sly cooper from the Playstation 2 need remakes because of them still at least in my opinion are deserving of the remake.
@4563adam If I would have to guess at least for the sly cooper games they do have them for a collection edition for both ps vita and Playstation 3 so in other words technically new generation systems at least for the sly cooper games. I say technically new generation systems because both the ps vita and the Playstation 3 are outdated as far as no new games for both systems.
I honestly can't believe Kingdom Hearts II didn't make it on this list, out of every PS2 game that I love that is the one that I've played the most and will probably continue to replay even into my dying days. The controls are fantastic, the graphics hold up, the combat is fun, the story intiguing (even if a bit weird), the platforming is fantastic and if you have the Japanese version(which I do) you have even more content.
Or god of war 2, Devil may cry 3, Silent Hill 2, Suikoden 5 just to mention a few that still holds up very well today and is better than many on his list.
Playstation 2 is one of most greatest consoles ever maded and defienitily solded. Ps2 was my first ever console what I've played when I was only 6 years old kid, I have good memories playing Sly Cooper games Sly Raccoon, Sly 2 Band of thieves and Sly 3 Honor amoung thieves with my brothers and friend. Ratchet and Clank and Crash Bandicoot games are my childhood too with Playstation 2. I still have Ps2 and play with that sometimes. 🔥🔥
Simpsons Hit and Run, Medal of Honor Frontline and Rising Sun, the Simpsons Game, and Silent Hill 2 are great PS2 games that are still fun to play all these years later.
MoH: Frontline was the game that inspired me to finally breakdown and buy a PS2. I saw maybe 10 seconds of a 30 second commercial for this game, and loved it. Took me a damned week to manage to get past the first level. Then, there was one level that caused me so much grief that I swore very loudly. When I finally beat it, I had saved every few steps during the level, and wound up getting a gold rating on the level.😮
I don’t play much Ratchet and Clank games, but I highly enjoyed watching their cutscenes. Also, Courtney Gears is quite the memorable villain/henchwoman.
I’ve always thought 6th-gen games with realistic-looking graphics always age terribly with their uncanny valley-looking character models. Games with more stylized visuals like the Ratchet & Clank games, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, Super Mario Sunshine, and Viewtiful Joe are always going to stand out better.

@@marcoalves9029 I’ve always loved how gorgeous the graphics from Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from their respective generations. Devs need to realize that they don’t need to make games realistic and brown to make them look good on modern systems.

A lot of the games from that era may appear dated to the modern eye, but for those who grew up during the 6th generation, nostalgia plays a significant role. Sometimes it's better to cherish these games for the emotions they evoked back then, during our childhood/teenage, because revisiting them can prove challenging in recapturing that same sense of magic and charm. It's not the games that have changed, but rather ourselves. Our adult perspective alters the experience, and that childhood wonder we once held gradually fades. Nonetheless, there's an enduring "arcade" charm in these games that appears somewhat lost in the contemporary gaming landscape, which is dominated by online multiplayer and live service titles, with their positives of connecting you to the global gaming community, but also accompanied by drawbacks like microtransactions. Also modern games tend to take themselves too seriously sometimes, going for deep stories, realism and hollywood cinematics, and we tend to look down at titles that just focus on the fun factor; we had more of the latter in the older gens, prior to ps3/360, for sure. The games that still stand the test of time are generally those with cartoonish graphics, 2D, or timeless art style such as Okami and Dragon Quest VIII. Even today's kids, I think, can appreciate these classics without cringing at the blocky graphics and low-resolution textures typical of the 5th and 6th generations.
There are so many games that could have been included but my main ones that haven’t are God of war games,Kingdom of hearts,RE4 and ofc Primal an underated gem of that generation
Ps2 was and is a beast of gaming system. My dad got me ps2 with gta 3 and some other 3rd person shooter game my friends were amazed by the grqphics. I played with some old school wood framed box tv :d i had little more modern plastic box tv side by side but i remember prefering the old one. I didnt know anything about resolutions or fps etc. Just colour tv which have rpg signal jacks. Remember playing resident evil games with my friends and english dictionary book becouse we couldnt solve the puzzles without understanding english words lol. Good times.
I remember i put countless..... COUNTLESS hours into the "SLY" games, "Tekken 4 & 5" AND "Return of a King" and "Battlefront 2" and "T.H.U.G 1" and "Burnout3" 😁😁
One game that I think gets overlooked is The Getaway. One could argue that its a British Grand Theft Auto or Yakuza, but the graphics and open world depiction of London were cutting edge for its time, and I think they really hold well today. This game has never even been remastered or remade, not that it really needs to if you still have a perfectly functioning PS2
MOH: Frontline’s Omaha Beach prologue mission is still one of the best portrayals of that battle in any game imo, most of that came down to its sound design
The more that Time goes by.. The more I really feel like the PS2 is the Best Overall system. It has such a deep, diverse game library. The graphics and gameplay capabilities are just enough to hold timeless fun. During a era where devs made obscure games, focused on fun and took a ton of creative risks we just don't see anymore
Some of these games really need to be ported over to ps4 and ps5 ps store PlayStation classics. Like I don't understand why Sony hasn't done that yet. Like a whole catalogue of classics that we would love to play again or play for the first time are forever stuck on the ps2 because Sony decided to stop porting them over to current gen consoles.
The original star wars battlefront games did a great job of showing the perspective of the clone and how they felt about the clone wars and galactic civil war.
Jak and Daxter especially! Having gone back to play the whole trilogy, as well as Combat Racing, I'm honestly impressed as to just how well they hold up to this day!
Wait what about the tak trilogy? Dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi trilogy and Dragon ball z budokai trilogy? What about hulk ultimate destruction? Spongebob squarepants the movie game? Spongebob squarepants battle for bikini bottom? Or avatar the last Airbender?
My list would be Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, the Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Budokai TenKaiChi games, Bully, God of War 1 and 2, Resident Evil 4, The Simpsons Hit and Run, all of the Kingdom Hearts games, Resident Evil Code Veronica, and YuYuHakusho Dark Tournament.

There are so many games that could have been included but my main ones that haven’t are God of war games,Kingdom of hearts,RE4 and ofc Primal an underated gem of that generation
the PS2's library is just too good to make such a small list without missing any great games lol
@@marcoalves9029 so true!! Such a great catalogue of games that console had!
Good times.
That LOTR game looks like it could've come out in the last few years. Thats insane for the PS2!
CRASH TWINSANITY , JAK AND DAXTER , THE LEGEND OF SPYRO , MORTAL KOMBAT , GOD OF WAR???
I remember i put countless..... COUNTLESS hours into the "SLY" games, "Tekken 4 & 5" AND "Return of a King" and "Battlefront 2" and "T.H.U.G 1" and "Burnout3" 😁😁
AND LETS NOT FORGET THE STELLAR VOICE CAST OF SSX TRICKY WHICH INCLUDES:
Lucy Liu
David Arquette
Macy Gray
Patricia Velasquez
Bif Naked
Billy Zane
One game that I think gets overlooked is The Getaway. One could argue that its a British Grand Theft Auto or Yakuza, but the graphics and open world depiction of London were cutting edge for its time, and I think they really hold well today. This game has never even been remastered or remade, not that it really needs to if you still have a perfectly functioning PS2
Sly 2 is my favorite and call of duty😊😊
MOH: Frontline’s Omaha Beach prologue mission is still one of the best portrayals of that battle in any game imo, most of that came down to its sound design
Great list! Hopefully you guys do GameCube and XBOX too!
Ps2 had a lot of gems man even some of the bad games were kinda good in some way
Need for Speed Undeground 2 holds up so well as a phenomenal racer
The punisher game holds up good
good job about Discussion and Review of PS2 Games That STILL Hold Up Today from Top 20
Seriously? You didn't add the most iconic PS2 series Jak and Daxter? Seriously??
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance
You absolutely need to add atelier Iris 1 and 2 to the list
Great video Bro ❤
Honorable mention: NBA Ballers, NFL Street 2, Urban Reign, Chaos Legion, NFS Underground.
great list. sly2, hit and run and mercenaries some of my all time favourites
Great video thanks for making it.
This list could have been a lot bigger. There are so many great games for the PS2.
The Simpsons Hit and run needs a new coat of paint, AWESOME GAME!!!
Return of the King was a great game as well, the PS2 Lord of the Rings games need a proper remake
Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle should be on the list.
THANK YOU!!!!
My nephew Corey is a huge PS2 fan.
Black deserves a reboot
Some of these games really need to be ported over to ps4 and ps5 ps store PlayStation classics. Like I don't understand why Sony hasn't done that yet. Like a whole catalogue of classics that we would love to play again or play for the first time are forever stuck on the ps2 because Sony decided to stop porting them over to current gen consoles.
The original star wars battlefront games did a great job of showing the perspective of the clone and how they felt about the clone wars and galactic civil war.
Shadow of the Colossus and the Kingdom Hearts games are the only ones i go back to every couple of years.
I wish the PS5 had a emulator that could let you play playstation 1,2, and 3 game discs
I want you guys to talk about Musashi samurai legends for how awesomely weird the world and characters are in this underrated gem
Sly Cooper needs a remaster.
No Kingdom Hearts 2? Jak and Daxter? Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance? Missing some pretty crucial gems here...
The guy probably just play racing and fps games, there is so many great games that holds up much better than many on his list.
Jak and Daxter especially! Having gone back to play the whole trilogy, as well as Combat Racing, I'm honestly impressed as to just how well they hold up to this day!
im suprised that NFS underground 2 was not on the list
No Resident Evil 4 or Silent Hill 2!? Lame. 😒
Your love for tekken 5 tho haha
My list would be Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, the Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Budokai TenKaiChi games, Bully, God of War 1 and 2, Resident Evil 4, The Simpsons Hit and Run, all of the Kingdom Hearts games, Resident Evil Code Veronica, and YuYuHakusho Dark Tournament.
So many good games. Still love Ratchet and Clank. And the Sly Raccoon games. I would love to see a remake or remaster of Simpsons Hit and Run as well.
Scarface the game deserves to be on this list as well :)
Im glad The Warriors made the list... i still play that with my kid on my ps5 😂
champions of norrath and black should be on this list
