These actresses were great comediennes. I enjoyed this show when it was originally on tv. I’m sure there are more clip shows of the Golden Girls. There’s probably “The Best of” for each character, The Best of Sophia, The Best of Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose.
Correction Rose didn’t sleep with 56 guys in a year, she just said she dated 56 guys in a year. Knowing her it was probably a single date and she counted that as a boyfriend. Rose is the good one of the group sweet and innocent and very naive, so to think she was that popular with boys in high school was a shock.

Yeah, that skit is a classic case of miscommunication. Rose, being the sweet and naive old lady that she is, meant that she had 56 friends who were boys in one year when she was young. Blanche and Dorothy thought she meant she'd had 56 romantic partners in a year.
@@yojimarusilverfang I like that even more. That young Rose would talk to a boy and that immediately placed them into boyfriend rank. Of course boys can be friends and she wouldn’t think of the romantic differences. Love her.

Wow I'm old, I was 10 when this show started in 85 and you two were not even born yet when it ended in 1992. It came on Saturday nights, I watched with my grandma who loved it! Betty White, the one that played Rose, (56 boyfriends in 1 yr). She just died in 2021 at 99 years. She was a very iconic actress and was hilarious, she was big in the 60's & 70's.

"Shady Pines" is a nursing home where Dorothy (the tall woman ) send her mom Sophia (the little older one)
Guys, Dorothy, the woman with the huskier voice is portrayed by Bea Arthur. Many women have deep voices, and sometimes it's caused by years of smoking. Bea had been a heavy smoker for years, which possibly altered her voice.
Also, in many cases, the taller you are, the deeper your voice will be, and she was 5ft 10in tall, like me.
Ethnicity and genetics play a part, too.
Black people tend to have deeper voices than others, even if they're not very tall. I'm a black woman, 5ft 10in tall, and all of my black friends/family who are around my height or taller have deep voices, while some of my non-black friends/family (multi-racial in both) may be a little shorter with lighter voices, while some also have deep voices. I've noticed that black and Latino people I'm around have deeper voices than some other people of different ethnic backgrounds, especially those of various Asian countries.
This is true, I’m 4’11, with a lighter voice than my taller friends and family.

No one will ever understand the humor of The Golden Girls unless they watch the show from the beginning until the end.
Loud Guys should also see some American tv shows like The Jeffersons, Facts of Life, Different Strokes, Happy Days, Good Times, Sanford n Son, Lavern and Sherly, Three's Company, Love Boat, Fantasy Island, The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man, Night Rider
